AR, sorry you're still feeling so rough, yay for there not being long to go at work though. And for baby being back to his wriggly self.
Abc, I'm not surprised your back was aching after a 12 hour shift! I'm also enormous, but at9 weeks behind you have no cause to be other than excessive amounts of cake. :-(
Afm, I'm off with J today. We're going to toddler group this morning, and then to see Santa and his real reindeer this afternoon. I suspect J will hate Santa, but hopefully not. I've dressed him in a cute penguin Christmas jumper in honour of seeing Santa, and he looks ridiculously cute. (Though it does have to stay clean till this afternoon now, could be a challenge!) I'm feeling ok today, we were only up once last night, so could have been much worse. Just feel very large and it's a bit depressing- I out on lots of weight with J and promised myself I wouldn't this time, but I feel still sick unless I eat more than normal (I was sick again Sunday after not eating enough in the morning) so the weight is piling on.

AR- sorry you still feel rough. Hopefully your pupils will be kind to you!
ABC- hope you don't have another 12 hour shift to do!
SG- enjoy Santa and the reindeers!
AFM- Well, I had my scan yesterday. It was a doppler scan so measures blood flow to the baby from the placenta. We didn't get good results to be honest. On the chart of low to high risk I was way off the chart past the high risk cut off point! So 'disappointing' as my consultant said. It means my chances of PE have significantly increased again. It has been described as impaired uteroplacenta blood flow. As long as the baby continues to grow we should be OK- taking each day as it comes. Ialso had +2 glucose in my urine. Consultant has put it down to possibly having orange juice before I did my sample but will keep an eye on it. I am now to have weekly BP checks (even though my BP was fine yesterday -118/68) and back to her on 6th Jan for a growth scan and appointment. I felt like pants yesterday after this. Whilst I know there is nothing I can do it is still disappointing.

AR that's rubbish :( I am also on the count down! I just want to hibernate till the hols start!!
ABC I don't know how you do it! Sounds so busy!! Good idea re the bump share!
SG that penguin outfit sounds super cute!!!
S4 I'm so sorry to read your update and I hope you aren't feeling too upset or stressed about it. Glad to hear you are being taken good care of though.
AFM last day on 2nd tri! How the ballyheck did that happen?? 2nd tri has truly flown in! Eeeek! The baby is right down low at the moment so I was up 4 times in the night and could barely sleep in between so quite tired today! MW at 2pm for a routine check up. Need to book my whooping cough jag now!
Hello to all who follow!

AR, sorry to hear you feel rrubbish but yay to baby wriggling. Roll on Friday x
ABC, no wonder you have back ache, hope it eases when you can relax after a busy few days. I also feel huge, I went to a party at a friend's house on Friday night and one of the other girls is a week behind me with twins and I was massive in comparison! I've still not done any bump pics, should really.
SG, oh cute J in a christmas jumper!! M has a one too I'm going to put on her for her nursery trip on Thursday, too cute. Don't worry about the weight, it's just what you need to do to grow your baby x
Section4, so sorry to hear that you are at risk of PE again. At least they are aware and monitoring it, not that it's any comfort to you.
SP, off to join the big girls tomorrow! Hope midwife goes ok later. See you in 3rd tri in a few weeks!
AFM, baby was a bit quieter yesterday then after my usual 3am pee wasn't kicking which is unusual, so had me worried. Was up drinking icy water, still nothing, started wondering who could look after M at 4am or if I should go to triage on my own and leave H with her, and baby started wriggling and kicking. Typical! So very tired today and wishing M still napped so I could join her. Baby still a bit quiet, I suspect just changed position but will keep an eye on it.
Off to toddlers this morning, then gymnastics after lunch. Not much else planned apart from doing bare minimum to keep M happy!
Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

AR, school with no voice, sounds funny but I bet it's a nightmare!
ABC - I get blocked nose and sinus troubles too, definitely preg-related. it's annoying! Hope the Christmas shows go well. It's lovely all that stuff, but bloomin' hard work I bet :)
Oh SG, my heart goes out to you. That's how I am, if I don't keep stocked up on food the nausea gets worse, I feel hollow and weak and generally crappy. So I eat to keep going and then I keep growing! That jumper sounds cute - post a pic?
S4, what a shame. Such a lot of extra hassle you just don't need. I very much hope it doesn't come to anything.
SP - you're off? Crikey! We'll miss you. Long day you've for ahead of you today if you've barely slept. Good luck!
AFM, tummy pain and tenderness but it's never as bad when you're not panic-stricken. Friend and I went on a little walk last night and took the dog to the pub and had a good catch up so that was nice. Work is so tough, I'm on the verge of tears at least once a day and it's mostly because of one person (who I have to work really closely with) being a moron, hubby got in from his shift at 2am and I ranted for an hour about work, the poor bloke!!
10/12/2013 at 09:26
AR- Hope you feel better soon. teaching without much of a voice doesn't sound fun!
ABC- What is your job? Bet you was shattered after a 12 hour shift! I have had a blocked/runny nose since becoming pregnant. Yes a bump share would be nice :)
SG- Enjoy seeing santa! The jumper sounds so sweet. Try not to worry about weight gain if you can.
S4- Oh, sorry to hear your app didn't go well. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly for you if they keep a good eye on it. Did you have PE with a previous pregnancy? tell me if I am being to nosey!
Sweetpea- Wow thats gone fast!
Weekender- They like to make us worry dont they! Hope you have a nice day.
AFM- Had a very wriggly baby yesterday from the moment I woke up, it was lovely. Was so tired as had a late night so just chilled in my PJs. Hoping these next 2 weeks go quickly, cant wait for a break over xmas. handing in my maternity letter today, bit nervous but dont know why?!
10/12/2013 at 09:28
Sorry Counter- must have posted at the same time. Glad your not worrying any more. Your evening sounds lovely. It's such a shame when work is a nightmare due to a collegue, have you said anything to them?
10/12/2013 at 10:08
AR, how do you teach without your voice? Do you have any support staff to help you out if you need it?
ABC, how often do you have to work 12 hour shifts? Are you at least seated?
SG, any way you can try to eat only healthy foods, fruit, veggies, etc? Maybe like the slimming world approach of eating loads of good stuff so you're not depriving yourself of nutrition, but not going over board on stodge? Try not to worry too much, though. It's more important to not gain too little, as having a small for gestational age baby is worse than having a large one.
S4, that sounds really upsetting/frustrating/all-around unfortunate. I'm glad you've got people looking after you, though.
SP, enjoy 3rd tri, you're nearing the finish line (sort of)!
WE, I'm not looking forward to the constant worry about whether baby is moving enough, it sounds exhausting.
Counter, sorry your work colleague is being difficult/horrible, and about the tummy pain. Sounds awful, but at least it's not stressing you out.
Bertie, what the maternity letter? Is it to inform your employer when you want to go on leave?
Phew again. I really need to get on these threads earlier so it's not such a marathon of personals, haha. Much easier to reply one by one afterwards.
AFM, I looked up the maternity allowance just to make doubly and triply sure I'm eligible. I'm not sure if anyone knows my situation, but I left my full time permanent employment to come with my husband to France for a few months. I'm still technically employed, but it's a zero hour contract and I only work a couple shifts a month (which I've continued to do while in France, as it's easy enough to get back to London for a weekend). Anyways, I was worried that I wouldn't be eligible for anything, as I thought for some reason it was 26 weeks employment within the year before baby was born. Was relieved and excited to find out that it's the 66 weeks previous, of which I worked 32 weeks, and my pay was high enough even when split out over the 66 weeks to make me eligible for the full amount of allowance, which is only slightly worse than SMP I would have gotten had I remained at my (stressful) job. All I miss out on is the 90% pay for 6 weeks.
And in other news, Wispa is sick. She either has a parasite or she ate something nasty in the woods yesterday morning. She refused to eat her breakfast after her walk, vomited yellow bile, and had some diarrhea, so she's fasting and cuddling all day today, and we're heading to the vets anyways to get her a worming tablet anyways since she needs it to get back into the UK this Friday. I'm sure she'll be fine by tomorrow, but it's not fun knowing she's not well.

Hi bertie, yes we crossed. Bless yuo for being nervous about the letter, that official stuff is all a bit weird!
I want to talk to my colleague but have been going easy on him as he's new and he has come in not really being told the state the business (he's being paid to run!) is in so I felt bad and have cut him some slack. But he's making my life so difficult I plan to talk to him today about how we can communicate more effectively and how he's making life tougher than it needs to be. He's kind of super thick-skinned so I don't hold out much hope. I told him how frustrated I was about my being pregnant being such hot news and all people seem able to talk to me about and he brings it up all the time and we had a really important cash meeting (I manage the cash) booked with the chairman at 5.30pm and this colleague (who is usually out of the building by then) made some comment in front of others about how he'd understand if I couldn't attend if I had 'some prenatal thing to go to'. I confess I tore his head off!! It probably sounds petty but he's just so unprofessional all the time. Oh gawd. Turned in to a right ranty mare!
10/12/2013 at 10:49
Oh Wispa, sorry to hear about Wispa (!) Poor lad. I hate when they're sick because they can't talk and they look so forlorn. I hope he feels better very soon :)
10/12/2013 at 11:13
Morning all again,
AR - Hope you start to feel better soon
ABC - I don't envy your 12 hour shifts, I hope you're getting to relax afterwards
SG- I wouldn't worry too much about the weight gain, it's better to be getting food in than not eating with the nausea
S4- Sorry about your news, I have my fingers crossed that it all goes well
SP- Congratulations on getting to the 3rd Trimester
WE- I had a scare the other day, it's horrid. Glad you got some wrggling later to pu your mind at ease. It's a shame you had to be awake half the night though
Counter- Sounds like the person at work needs a stiff talking too, hope it gets better soon and your chat goes well
Bertie - Good luck with the letter
Wispa - I'm on MA too and just got OH to post it off today. I should be fine but until they come back I'll worry. Sorry to hear about your LO.
AFM- Nausea seems easier, managed some toast already today! I do seem to be finding it harder and harder to get comfy at night though. I keep getting these weird sharp pains, so I can't lay on my side anymore, I have to hover between being on my side and being on my back with pillows front and back to keep me there. We have a kingsize bed but the OH seems to have inches left once I'm sorted.
10/12/2013 at 13:08
BLL, good news re nausea, hope it keeps getting better. Let me know if you find a solution to the sleeping position business, I thought that stuff came much later but it's a nuisance :)
10/12/2013 at 13:09
I've been exactly the same re sleeping the last two nights and getting a similar sharp pain! My H is also being squished out the other side of the bed!! Ha ha!
10/12/2013 at 13:26
TBH, I'm not even big, it's just so uncomfortable I have to move. I'm wondering if it's ligaments stretching or something, but I don't know. It's only started in the past few days but maybe if Sweetpea has it too, I just need to get used to it x
10/12/2013 at 15:58
Best thing is to speak to your MW about it. Because I can get comfortable in other positions I was guessing that on my side the baby was pulling on certain areas/muscles (or something!!) causing the discomfort. My MW said any short term localised pain is likely to be discomfort caused by baby. Any prolonged pain should be checked out.
