Morning all. Hope we are ok today??
My back seems better today which is good. I've got a pretty hectic day ahead, in fact a hectic week but I'm starting to be asked about maternity leave from work and I know I'll get my MAT B1 form from the Midwife tomorrow at my appointment so I'm kind of distracted with planning that as well.
My current plan is to officially start my maternity leave 2 days before my EDD and take 3 weeks annual leave/flexi days in front of that so I'll be finishing when I'm 36+5. Not sure if thats too late or too early but its so hard at this stage to work out how you'll feel and you've no idea when the baby will come either. Hopefully that will be ok but I can always change it if I need to.
Other than that nothing exciting. Its my last pilates class at one of the gyms tonight. I've taught the class for about 5 years I think so it will be sad to finish it but I really need to scale things back. Last manic Tuesday. Yay!!!!!
Hi to all that follow xx

Morning! Is there room to shuffle up and add two more babies to the second tri clan?!
CA - You've been doing lots of planning your mat leave. Very organised of you. I need to make an appointment with HR at some point and find out a bit more about our policy. Sad times for the last Pilates class ever :(
AFM - Can't quite believe I am here tbh. I so so hope I get to the end if second tri (27/28 weeks, the jury is out!) as the twins will have such a good chance if they arrive after that. I hope they are listening! They will probably be nice and stubborn and hang on until 37 weeks!

CA how blooming exciting to be thinking about mat leave, I can't tell you how happy this makes me for you. No wonder it's distracting you! I hope today isn't too hectic, enjoy your last Pilates class tonight.
AFM- well yesterday I spent prett much all day worried that happy feet wasn't moving. I'd used the Doppler so I knew their heart was beating away but I still couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. I tried cold water, chocolate milkshake, and a bath and morning got then wriggling or kicking. So I thought I'll use the Doppler again and lay on the bed. As I'm laying there I saw my tummy twitching away! Actually saw it!!!! Mad. Needless to say after that they were wriggling and kicking away, naughty happy feet was just worrying me earlier!

Sorry Ducky, I missed you there.
Welcome to second tri :) always room for a couple of Ducky twins. I reckon these two will hang on in there until well into 3rd tri, they're strong little sprouts.
Eeeek, happy feet is a papaya!
04/03/2014 at 08:47
Sorry I didn't make it on yesterday, it was a busy day at work. Hope everyone is okay xx
CA, so glad to hear that your back is much better today and so exciting that you're planning your maternity leave! I hope that your last Pilates class goes well tonight x
Ducky, welcome to 2nd tri! I agree with Imp, those little sprouts of yours are tough cookies, they'll hang on well into 3rd tri :)
Imp, happy papaya day! Naughty Happy Feet worrying you so much! I'm glad they've started to behave again now. How amazing that you saw your stomach moving!
AFM, I have a quieter day today, and I'm sneaking out to meet my friend for lunch which I'm really looking forward to. I haven't seen her since before Christmas, so it will be lovely to see her. I may also pop into John Lewis on my way home and see if I can preorder the peach 3... :)
Hi to all who follow *waves* x

Sorry I didnt get back on yesterday, work went *** up and I had a networking lunch to go to (tasty but I the 2hours I was away from my desk were not best timed!)
CA - Glad you back feels better! I think your maternity leave plan sound sensible - its so hard to plan as we dont have a crystal ball. What does your OH think? I plan to finish at 36 weeks - if baby is late they are late, I plan on taking a year anyway.
Ducky - lovely to see you here !
Imp - Glad Happy Feet gave you some extra joy last night - and yea to being a papaya!
Fig - what colour are you going to go for in peach 3? We went for truffle but havent actually seen it yet - not sure if that was wise or not!
AFM - bad nights sleep and was sick this morning - yea! Work is beyond mental - I finish tomorrow and am heading to Newcastle on Thur for Jack Whitehall and a long wkend - my OH booked it as my christmas present (to give me sthing to look forward to after sitting with feet up for over a month post op) and I think the plan was to 'get mortal' but the bfp day after boxing day changed that plan somewhat!
Any newcastle folk on here? Any tips etc?
Will try to get back on today and should be here tomorrow but after that it will probably be Monday.
Hi to all who follow!

I'm Newcastle SaSaSi! Where are you staying? What sort of things are you looking to do?
I think I want the truffle too. I've always liked the truffle from the photos and luckily that's one of the first to be released. I think the only other one released at the moment is the jet black with the black frame?

CA - probably a good idea to slow down a bit but I hope you have a nice last class. I know what you mean about maternity leave dates. I have yet to decide between two weeks but I only have 6 days annual leave to take before hand. Getting your MatB1 makes it all real!!
Ducky - Helloo! So nice to have you and the sprouts here! I reckon they will be 37 weekers also. Tough little things your two.
Imp - happy 22 weeks! So glad happy feet eventually obliged you and I can't believe you saw them move! That just sounds so weird and so cool at the same time! Did you recognise any body parts??
Fig - have a nice lunch and yay for ordering the pram! Everyone's getting prams I feel I should be getting in on that action! The icandy's are so beautiful too.
Sasasi - hope you feel better now and I'm hoping work calms down a bit for you. Weekend away sounds lovely! Jack Whitehall is hilarious. I have been to Newcastle but was visiting my great aunt so not the wildest weekend I've ever had. We went to a museum/art gallery thing on the river which was quite good and obv the massive Primark but other than that I'm useless. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will come along.
AFM - sorry I haven't been on for a while. Busy weekend and no time! I *think* I felt a kick on the weekend. Just a small dull flick below my belly button and I can't think what else it could be so I'm saying it was. Other than that not much to report. Work has given us 2 30 day consultations for redundancy rather than the one they were originally going for as the Unions have got involved at regional level and scared them a bit I think. Gives me longer to decide what I want to do so I can relax for a bit longer! Yay.

Morning all :)
CA - Good news about your back feeling much better lets hope that continues :) I've had my MAT B1 form for a few weeks I want to hand it in at the same time as my dates when I start ML and I'm also taking annual leave at the beginning, still not sure when to start it from though. Sorry to hear you had to make the decision about the pilates class, understandable though, will you start it up again after the bubba is here?
Ducky - wow lovely to see you here and your two little ones :) I'm keeping everything crossed for you that all will be ticking along into each week that comes :)
imp - HF is naughty haha, although this happens it did with me 'he' wasn't moving much then the day later off he went and it is truly amazing seeing your tum bump when they move, I love talking to him now and stroking my belly hoping to get a reaction :) Did your H see HF move? And happy Papaya day! Oh and yup we ordered the Boots cotbed :)
Fig - Sounds like you have a great day lined up, I'm jealous stuck at work haha! I hope you are able to preorder, exciting times!
SaSaSi - oh no not sick, I do feel for you :( have fun in Newcastle, I've never been, report back?
Jonesy - exciting about feeling those first movements :) sorry to hear about the redundancy woes, I hope you are going to be ok with whatever outcome you would like
AFM - a new mw yesterday she was really lovely, gave me time to listen and provide advice which is what I needed, I do have spd but she didn't really rate the support belts she said some women find they work others don't. She gave me a leaflet of Pelvic Pain in Pregnancy and it has some exercises in there so I'll definately give that a try. She also reassured me about the birth and said I should be ok with the discomfort, it's only bad for the ladies that end up in a wheelchair. I had a lovely compliment from her she was checking my notes and noted that I'm daily aspirin because of my age, she gasped and went back to my first page and said you aren't 41, I would have said you were 26, aw I love her haha haha!
She measured my tum and said 'he' is big for the amount of weeks I am and said not to worry it doesn't necessary mean he is going to be a big baby! They will check this again in 4 wks at my next mw appt and at my 32 and 36 wk scans. I hope he's ok in there the little monkey :)
The mw said I need to book in for a whooping cough jab, anyone else been advised of this? And now I need to ring to book the antenatal classes which then concludes with a tour around the maternity unit, eek!
Happy Tuesday to you all, I hope to be back, but I'm not always able to, sorry!
04/03/2014 at 10:31
Hi LL glad you saw someone helpful and hopefully that's made you feel a bit better about the spd and birth! I got told at my last appointment that I need to book the whooping cough jab for 28 weeks but I'm seeing her at 25 weeks so I'll arrange it then. When do you have your tour do you know?
04/03/2014 at 12:53
Good afternoon ladies!
CA - for what it's worth I think your plan sounds good. If baby comes a little early though, will you get any AL back? This is something I'll have to check too, so I thought I'd mention it.
Hi Ducky and sprouts! I am sure you will all three make it to the end of 2nd tri, they seem like determined little ones.
Imp - ooh that's so exciting about seeing your tummy move. I was a bit worried reading the beginning of your post but sounds like a happy ending. Lovely!
Fig - hope you enjoy your lunch and ooh exciting about ordering the pram...! Eeek!
SaSaSi - oh it'll be lovely to get away. Sorry to hear you've still got sickness, I was really hoping it'd have eased up for you by now.
Jonesy - yay exciting for the kick, I'm sure you'll start to feel loads more soon. I was the same with A, had a few where I wasn't sure and it only gradually became obvious, so there was never a point where I said I'd felt the first movement IYSWIM! Glad the consultation period has been extended, gives you a bit of breathing space.
LeeLee - glad the appt went well! Yes I had the whooping cough jab in my first pregnancy, I can't remember the timescale but there's a certain period you need to get it in. Ring your GPs surgery and they should be able to advise. Think between 26 and 36 weeks, something like that? so you have time.
AFM sorry I didn't get back on yesterday, we had a nice day in the end, my friend came round for dinner. She's a little blunt and said "well let's hope it's a girl"!! I know it's just her way so I'm not particularly offended, but I hope people don't really think that. Today I've got a grumpy little A, could be teeth, I've put on some Anbesol so we'll see. He's sleeping now, fx it's a long nap! Should really be tidying/cleaning the kitchen as it's a bomb site but I'm feeling lazy.
Oh and the best news... the jeans the lady was giving away for free yesterday are a size 8 and they fit me! OK so they're Topshop and I know they usually come up big in maternity but I'll take it haha.
04/03/2014 at 13:07
Fig - we are staying at Quayside Apts, I think they are pretty central? Can you advise any gd places to eat? Chinese, Italian etc? Plan to do a bit of shopping and maybe afternoon tea somewhere? I will prob be sleeping by 8pm every night so nothing too tiresome! Was thinking of maybe cinema to see Non Stop at some point.
The thing with truffle is that its two tone, the 'top' bit like over babys body until head is a lighter colour but if I dont like it shop says I can change to black. I dont like the black frame on black its way too dark looking for us.
Jonsey - Yea to feeling a kick & relaxing longer! Whatever happens will work out the best for you and your family.
LeeLee - Sounds like you have been given some great advise and help - a pleasant midwife can only make for a nicer experience and massive high 5 for the age compliment!
Saisi - Im hoping like Nina it disappears at 16 weeks (FX & all toes!) You have every excuse to rest while A naps, you are pregnant!
Hi to anyone else who comes along :)
04/03/2014 at 15:29
Just catching up from the day.
Fig, How was lunch? I hope youi ordered the icandy!
Sas Maybe a few days off work will help with the nausea and tiredness? I hope so.
Jonesy good news about longer to decide, does that alter you being able to get Mat pay too? I couldn't see body parts, I'm not sure baby is big enough yet, but i could see twitches, very odd!
LL, Glad you saw a nicer MW- I hope the exercises help you and ease the pain a bit. I have been told to book the jab at 18 weeks too.
I called C up to look and he could see HF moving too, very sweet for him.
Saisi I hope the tetthing gel helps, poor A- and you! Yay for free jeans too!
My day has been busy one minute and dead the next, I'm shattered at the moment and I can't wait to get home tonight. The 1st tri tiredness seems to be comoing back! Sad times.
04/03/2014 at 17:02
Jonesy - thanks, I've booked the jab in for a couple of weeks time and the hospital tour comes after the antenatal classes, well that's what the mw told me and I haven't booked that in yet :)
Saisi - sounds like you had a lovely evening with your friend even if she is a bit forthright haha! Size 8? You skinny minny haha ;-)
Imp - sorry to hear your tiredness is back, it's horrid when that happens :) so happy your C to see HF move too :)
04/03/2014 at 18:44
Jonesy, so exciting to feel your first little nudge :) They'll start coming through all the time now!
LeeLee, glad your appointment went well, good luck with the exercises. I hope they help.
Saisi, hurrah for jeans :) Hope A is feeling better now.
SaSaSi, hope the info I sent you helps, have a fab weekend in Geordie land!
Imp, hope you're home by now with your feet up. I'm more tired than ever, so you have my sympathies!
I've ordered the pram! Went for peach 3 in truffle with the silver frame, so the same as SaSaSi I think? H will be very pleased that I've resisted going for marshmallow lol! It's due around 6th May, so plenty of time before baby gets here, even allowing for delays. Exciting times!
04/03/2014 at 19:06
Fig - exciting times indeed :) it's good to get something ticked off the list too :)
04/03/2014 at 19:07
IMP - so do I ! OH is convinced the change of scenery will do me gd, I hope so!
Fig - info greatly appreciated :) yep same pram! Truffle wasn't available on black chassis but I think the silver will go well with it. Mine isn't due till June / July!
