Eugh! wide awake since 3!!! hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend. We didn't do too much tbh, charity football with Ls team, visit to great granny and the transport museum and out for tea. Crib is up, dragged my lazy self into the loft and found the car seat...covered in mould so I think our friends are going to give us a loan of theirs as their little boy moving up to next stage, keeping an eye on prices just incase.
its awful weather here, we were meant to be going on a bug hunt but not keen if this torrential rain carries on!!! on annual leave this week then just 2 days a week now till oct. Got my average maternity pay estimate back and so glad to see that work 7 out of 8 weekends will pay off as think I'm only down about £170 a month which is fantastic and means all the house stuff won't need to be postponed.
Baby wise all seems fine, mw tomorrow
take care and baby out vibes to those who need them

Morning RF sounds like u had a nice weekend, shame about the car seat! Do u have a kiddicare hear u as they had some really cheap when we went?
AFM had a lovely weekend and cold/cough is much better, gutted I have to go back to work today! However cot is up and brought some bedding yesterday. Also ordered our car seat so feel like we're getting organised now!

Morning RF, that's great news about your maternity pay. So glad all those extra hours paid off! Yay to working 2 days a week from now on too!
AFM we had quite a busy weekend although it was nice yesterday to do absolutely nothing! With the weather being so rubbish I didn't feel guilty about having such a lazy day. Still full of cold but hoping a few days taking it easy will help. I think today I've just got to try and get done ironing done. Biscuit decorating with F this morning :-)

Missed you there MrsL. Glad you're feeling better, hope work goes ok for you today. Great news about the car seat and cot!

Hi WG glad u had a lazy day, rest is really the best medicine. Enjoy biscuit making! X

Rf that's great that the weekends worked out well and 2 days a week til October sounds fabulous!
Mrs l glad your cold is starting to clear a bit. Yay to getting baby stuff sorted!
WG hope your cold starts to disappear. Biscuit decorating sounds fun!
Went lakeside yesterday with my mum and sister while h kept himself busy at his brothers. Went to kiddicare but not much left in there. Also went to primark in the hope of getting some maternity clothes as I need some strap tops yo wear under my dresses or a couple of jumpers now its getting colder but all they had were jeans and one top that says mickey or Minnie in the making! Very disappointed. Hot a breastfeeding session this morning, first of the antenatal classes, the next one was cutting it a bit fine with due date and as I missed it with k I really wanted to make this one. Its women only do I've got to try and remember it all!

Wg - have fun baking
Mrs L - nearest kiddicare is Liverpool I think and can't see us heading over there, it's a maxi cosi we want as have the base, friend has the same and I know the car seat from them has never been in a crash or anything so they said we could have it but keeping my eye in prices just incase they don't move their LO up fir whatever reason. Cheapest I seen it was £79.99 and I had a £10 voucher so would have been £69.99 which is good but hanging off for now
Bunny - did u get anything yesterday?
Iv been listing some boys clothes (I hate selling stuff) but have now got 4 bin bags for cash for clothes and 2 bin bags to try to sell and if they don't sell they are going to c4c too! Then we can finally declutter and get rid. Also on look out for a steriliser but think I have enough boots points to get one from there

Oh I'm cheating on the biscuit front. I've bought the biscuits...and the icing... Hehe!
Bunny - I'm always really disappointed at the lack of maternity clothes in stores, I can't believe there isn't enough of a demand for them. It's a pain having to order everything online.
RF - I haven't tried cash for clothes. I can't be doing with try to sell through Facebook and the like so might give that a go!

C4c is only about 50p a kilo, but I can't be doing with eBay/car boot etc so just doing one turn of trying to sell the better stuff, anything else was bagged for c4c and will take later. Will be lovely to see the floor in baby's room again

RF - shame about the car seat but sounds like you are getting organised! Great news on your pay bet you are happy you did those extra hours.
MrsL - boo to going back to work but glad you are feeling better. Yay to getting more organised!
WG - enjoy biscuit decorating - sounds fun! Hope your cold shifts very soon.
Bunny - I hate how hardly any shops stock maternity. I have a h&m and newlook near me luckily that both stock maternity though. I think I might need to get some big cardy's or something as no point buying maternity jumpers now but as it's chilly I'll need something to wear after baby arrives before I can fit in my old clothes! Enjoy the breastfeeding session, I found ours useful.
AFM - I have my extra midwife appointment this morning to check to see if I've grown over the past week. I've been quite worried if I'm honest and movements have been ok but think they might be on the soft/slow side. This may be me being paranoid though. My stomach feels rock hard today so think I'll measure more than last week anyway. Just worried about what might happen if I haven't grown. Not long to wait now though. No signs of baby arriving otherwise, just few twinges and aches here and there :(
Hello to those that follow x

RF: Sorry to hear about the early start, hope you get some more sleep later. Not good news about the car seat, hope you find a reasonably priced 1. Good luck at mw tomorrow
MrsL: Sounds like things are coming together nicely for you, hope today goes quickly for you
WG: Glad you had a nice weekend but the rest sounds even better!! Hope your cold goes quickly
Bunny: Maternity clothes are near impossible to actually buy in the shops. Hope your breastfeeding class goes well today
Browny: Hope the appointment goes well. I think the measuring of the bump is such a silly outdated method of determining size. A few of my friends have been worried unnecessarily about too big or small babies & they've been fine. Movements tend to get less as your date approaches (although mine didn't as my anterior placenta ment I didn't feel much until near the end!!). Hope it goes well.
AFM: We've just had 5 days away with family & friends. Unfortunately my family are spread across a county & we ended up doing a lot of travelling so am absolutely exhausted. Had arranged to go to the farm to meet up with a friend of my H's whiose got a lot of boys clothes for me so I'm gonna have to suck it up & find some energy to go!! My sister bought us a big bag of 0-3 clothes & my friend who I saw yesterday has given us 2 boxes of clothes so now the baby who had no clothes a few weeks ago will have loads!! (I forgot to say thank you to you for the clothes RF, they're great). Baby still remains nameless (still stressing me out). Thought we were going with the name of 1 of my friends but my hubby doesn't like it that much (luckily I never got the chance to ask her as she went on holiday earlier than I thought). He now likes 1 of the names I originally suggested but I'm not so keen. It's just too hard!! x

Rf all I got was one pair of maternity leggings. Hope you get through all the clothes.
Browny hope that the midwife appointment went well and you've grown enough. If not they might send you for an extra scan to check everything.
Bk sounds like you've had a busy time. That's great about the baby clothes. Names are hard. We've kind of got a short list but have different names to each other we also like. We're going to wait till baby arrives so we don't have to have discussions about names anymore!
Breastfeeding session was good. It was my midwife doing it and there were only 2 of us there! Just got to try and remember it! Not sure what to do this afternoon, but we've finally pumped up the birthing ball for me to sit on.
26/08/2014 at 15:46
Browny - fingers crossed for a positive appointment this afternoon, let us know how you get on.
BK - Hope you found the energy to go to the farm. I think we're 99.9% decided on the name now, don't stress there's plenty of time :-)
Bunny - glad the BFing session went well.
26/08/2014 at 16:14
BK - sounds like you have a lot of clothes for baby already! Bet you are knackered I know what it's like travelling the country to visit people - even when not pregnant it's exhausting! Sorry to hear your choice of name is now not sorted. We're struggling with girls names but think we have a short list finally that we're both happy-ish with!
Bunny - glad the session went well! It's hard to remember it all isn't it!
AFM - mw app went well - measuring 2cm more than last week - I don't think I've grown 2cm but just from position of baby and the fact my stomach was rock hard whilst I was there, but as it measured more she was happy that everything is ok. Next time I see her I'll be 40+4 so she said she can do a sweep if I like. I said I'd rather her examine me and see if it's worth doing first as I don't want her to try and me be in pain if there's no way it'll make a difference! They induce when you are 12 days over here so she'd book that next time I see her as well. I really am going to have a baby very soon!! Eeeeek! X
