Congratulations Bexy! Not sure I like this current trend of long labours!
Baby out vibes for ferbs.
Not slept wellfor the second night, I sleep really well until I need to get up or a wee then really struggle to get back to sleep again. Hope the chikdren are quiet today!
Feeling slightly unorganised and panicked babywise. I know I'm not, but Sil+BIL had a private scan Sunday lunchtime to find out the sex. By 5pm they had named baby, ordered several personalised items for baby including bookends and conforters and bought loads of oitfits in sizes up to 3-6 months. shes akso boght 300 nappies

Sorry phone playing up!
As apparently they were on offer! She's only 17 weeks. Now I'm thinking that I need to get stuff, but don't think I do as we've only got the minimum of basics as we don't know what we are having. It's making me feel very unprepared!
On another note I'm starting to think about my hospital bag, what are you putting in yours? No idea what to pack to wear during labour, and have you bought nursing pjs for after or not bothered?
So many things to think about, maybe that's why I'm not getting back to sleep!

Morning Bunny! Don't worry about feeling disorganised, you've got plenty of time and the shops are always there, so no panic. I bought cheap button front nighties the first time for labour and feeding, won't need them for labour this time but will get some for feeding afterwards.
Didn't get on yesterday due to general work and children related stuff, but work today and thanks to inset yesterday, it's my only proper work day of the week - woohoo! All well with baby, got the bunting up in the newly decorated nursery at the weekend so will try to get a pic later or tomorrow.
Congratulations to Bexy and Rusty, hope Ferbs has some news soon too - baby out vibes!

Don't panic bunny, you have lots of time! I've bought 2 cheap Primark nighties, one for labour and a clean one for after as both times I didn't get showered straight away as I had a catheter in so it was nice to at least get a clean top on. I have a couple of nursing vests I'll take to wear with old cheap pj bottoms but they aren't an essential. I'm getting the baby clothes washed this week while it's sunny and will aim to get my bag packed in a couple of weeks
Margot - looking forward to seeing a pic of the nursery
AFM - I'm up and awake and both kids are still asleep, what is that all about?? Bloody back and hip pain :-( bought new carpets yesterday for our room and A's. Put laminate down in her a couple of months ago to try and save money but I don't like it - waste of £100! Supposed to be another lovely day here so I'm going to get the last of the baby clothes washed - what an exciting life I lead :-)

Yay, so happy for Bexy after waiting so long to meet her little baby boy! Congratulations x
Bunny - wow your SIL and BIL sound way too organised! Don't panic, you have plenty of time. I did most my stuff whilst on maternity leave and was a complete last minute gal! There are quite a few good hospital bag lists on line. I just bought a cheap nightie from tesco to throw away after labour and have some yoga pants and best tops for after.
Margot - can't wait to see pictures of the bunting. Hope that your day at work passes quickly
Afm - thanks for the baby out vibes. Am at the stage where I don't believe this baby is ever going to come and my body is playing tricks on me! Was up a lot of the night with contractions but again, they have now gone. I have stupidly looked up too much on line and for some people, this false labour can go on for weeks - nooooooo!! Seeing midwife on Thursday so am going to talk it through with her in some more detail. Have tried all methods to get baby out and still nothing!
In the meantime, am trying to keep busy and distracted. Off for tea and cake at my friends house this morning then a chilled afternoon in the sun I think. H and I went for a long walk when he got home from work last night so I may suggest the same again.
Have a good day all x

Ally - missed you there. I am also awake early with the same complaints as you. This late pregnancy lark sucks! I have also been taking advantage of the sun and doing loads of washing. Hope you prefer the carpets to the laminate when they are down
Missed you there Ferbs - sorry it's all stop/start, do you think the MW will give you another sweep on Thursday? Chilled out day sounds like a good plan :-)
04/06/2013 at 07:33
My midwife was very funny about giving me a sweep last time I was there (she said with first babies she doesn't do them until 41 weeks), it was the dr at the hospital that gave it to me. However, with all that has been going on this week I think I may have to be quite insistant as its clear that my body wants to do something and I am being driven mad!!

Bunny - I wouldnt worry about being organised, you hace a while yet. I have a cheap button front nighty from Peacocks for labour, then some dark short pj's for after. Only ones I could find were mothercare, everyone else is selling summer pale colours! Hope the kids dont play you up today, are you full time?
Margot - ooh yes pics please!!
Ferbs - Bless you it sounds like a right pain, must be tough all the starting and stopping! Baby out vibes for you, come on baby!
Ally - Hope the carpet is better, we put laminate down recently and I love it! Funny how were all different. Will report back later from the MW RE: pains!
AFM - breastfeeding workshop at antenatal yesterday has turned my H into Hitler! Got told off by the lady for still wearing underwired, so H dragged my to M&S afterwards! I am now sporting a lovely granny-ish non-wired number! To be fair its ok, its supportive which is more than I can say for the mothercare ones I got a while back. MW this afternoon but nothing more exciting than that!

Bunny - you have plenty of time! This from teh woman who is 37 and a half weeks pregnant and not packed her hospital bag yet! As to what to wear during labour, with M it all happened so quick, when I got to the hospital I was fully dilated so was in no frame of mind to get changed so just stayed in the vest top I went in in, in fact my bag didn't get opened until after M arrived! I didn't bother with specific nursing pjs etc, stocked up on pj bottoms from Primark and vest tops ( alot cheaper as well!)
Margot - Yay for one day at work! Cant wait to see a photo!
Ally - we are hoping to get carpet upstairs over the next few months, our house was all flooring from when we moved in 6 years ago. I long for carpet in our bedroom!
Ferbs - poor you, fingers crossed your LO decides to put in an appearance soon.
Porkchop - Bless your H! Hope MW goes ok today.
AFM - only today and tomorrow at work - woohoo!!!! can't wait! Hoping this lovely weather stays as it will be so much easier to entertain M for the next couple of weeks before due date as she just loves being in the garden. Also starting to write a list of the jobs I need to get done at home before LO arrives, as work has been knackering me the housework has taken a back seat so needs a blitz before baby comes!
Congratulations to all those 3rd triers now having baby cuddles!!

Good morning ladies,
Congratulations to Bexy and Rusty!
Bunny – Oh my, your SIL & BIL sound crazy organised, though I guess that must be the excitement of knowing the sex if that’s what they were wanting. Don’t panic! Everyone has their own way of preparing for baby arrival. I must admit, we do have lots of nappies and wipes to hopefully get us through until we start using the cloth nappies when baby is 10lb. Hope the children are being quiet and you get a better night sleep tonight. I’ve started thinking about my hospital bag and I’m planning on just getting some cheap nighties that have buttons at the front so I can use them for BFing after.
Margot – 1 ‘proper’ day working week sounds good to me! Oooh, exciting about the nursery!
Ally – but it’s so exciting seeing all the baby clothes on the washing line?! I realise I am getting older when I say this!
Ferbs – come on baby, out you come!! Keeping busy sounds best way forward, enjoy your day and hopefully baby is getting ready to come out!
Porkchop – hope the MW goes well. Oh dear, I think it’s just our H’s way of showing they are trying to help us. I think it must be pretty tough for them, worrying about us and baby!
MrsH – 2 more days! Are you counting down yet? It would be great if the sun could hang around I’m loving being able to sit in the garden resting rather than being stuck inside.
Noodle – welcome to 3rd tri (officially, tomorrow)!
AFM – I had a lovely weekend with our friends over but was totally knackered come Sunday evening staying up until midnight both Friday and Saturday caught up with me and I feel asleep on H by 9.30 in front of the TV. They bought us some lovely bits for baby and a giftcard so that we could buy something when baby arrives. Met up with another friend and her little girl (2 yo) yesterday – we went to a farm centre, but with the sunshine out we got to go explore the animals and had a “beach” set up, so she had her first experience of sand!
I did a lot of baby washing over the weekend as a next step to packing hospital bag – so it could all dry on the line, was so weird seeing all the little clothes on our washing line! We still need to buy some sheets for pram/moses basket but once they are here then I just have one more load of washing to do of the bits we’ll need for when baby arrives. Our NCT classes are at the weekend and just had an email asking to write a list of things we want to cover, is it just me, but I’ve not really thought of that. I guess I’ll have to have a proper think. One of my main concerns was BFing but we have a separate session for that after.
Bunny I would not worry about buying all this stuff like them, babies only need the minimum basics and lots of things will be given as gifts after baby is born. In terms of hospital bag I'm the same, first baby it's a weight off your mind to be a little organised. I'm a control freak so have written a list and aim to get my bag sorted next weekend when I'm 30 weeks.
Margot excited to see your nursery
Ally yay to new carpets!
Ferbs really hoping something happens for you soon! Glad your keeping busy
Porkchop I thought the same about mothercare bras, rubbish. Glad you found the bf workshop useful
MrsH I hope this weather stays as well it makes everyone happier. Hope you manage to get your list done before baby arrives
Hi noodle! Welcome to 3rd tri
Afm I had the best nights sleep I've had for ages last night, no aches/pains, only one wee. I feel great now. The block paving drive project goes on here.....skip is going today and about 6 tonnes of bricks/sand/hardcore are being delivered tomorrow onto our front garden, just as midwife is coming tomorrow for her home visit! My front garden looks like a war zone! H assures me it will be finished by this time next week. Nothing baby wise to report really

Just quickly popping on during lunch break. Thank you you've made me feel a lot better! Think I need to take a deep breath and write a list! I think I'm more organised than I think, it's just hard not to get swept up in other people's plans when they are so much further behind, but have everything.
04/06/2013 at 12:58
Afternoon ladies! Congratulations to Bexy and Rusty!
Bunny, can understand why you are riled up by SIL's action. I'm taking a more relaxed approach to preparing instead - so long as he has food and a bed, that's all that matters! Personalised bookends really aren't a priority!! Try not to let it wind you up! As for hospital bag, there's a good list on MD site. I'm going to buy nighties, even though I prefer PJs. But a nightie will give MW's better access to the business end if stitches need checking, or if I need a catheter say.
Margot, would love to see your bunting!! I finished mine this weekend too but it's not up yet. Hoping H can do it for me tonight or tomorrow!
Ally, sounds like a nice day - I can't wait to wash all the clothes and then sit back and admire them!! We've got a new carpet for the nursery too and it's lovely being all cosy. Got laminate in the rest of the house and just can't imagine crawling around with the baby on it.
Ferbs, baby out vibes!! Sounds like Morph's contractions which lasted for ages. In a way I suppose it's better than nothing - your body *must* be gearing up, surely!? My hospital doesn't do sweeps until 41 weeks either. Seems strange.
PC, bless your H for getting you sorted. Most blokes are only interested in what they look like!
MrsH, yay for not much work left! Sure it's supposed to stay sunny for a while now!
Hi Noodle, see you tomorrow!
Sapphire, sounds like you're very busy ATM! I found reading the NCT birth plan template online threw up a lot of questions for me. Might be worth a flick through that to see if there's anything you want to know more about. I think you can still say BFing too
DF, hoorah for sleeping well! Hope the drive project gets finished in time, sounds like mayhem!
AFM - had first (of two) NHS antenatal classes last night. Was quite helpful to find out the hospital's preferences for certain things. They seem quite hot on active birthing, skin to skin, breastfeeding etc. We also had a tour and I was REALLY impressed with the water pool rooms. I just hope we get one on the day!!!
