It's Tuesday folks! Two sleeps til scan day lol managed to get some party stuff sorted last night and the boy is at preschool this afternoon so I can get some cleaning done. That's as exciting as my life gets! I'm still feeling not beery pregnant but I don't have the feeling of dread I did when I had my mmc so I'm taking that as a good sign. And my belly is huge!

Not long till scan now, glad you are getting sorted with the party, its hard enough without 1st tri-Ness thrown in!
Apart from the continuing exhaustion I'm not feeling pregnant either just now and my bloating has gone so I'm not sure if I'm back to my pre-bloat size or if there is actually signs of a bump! Roll on Fridays reassurance scan.
Busy day with the toddler today, we are heading home from my mums this morning in the hope that I can get home before the exhaustion sets in again! Then meeting friends this afternoon, need to go to supermarket then get clothes ready for work tomorrow. Then bed about eight
Hi to everyone else, I take it OBs scan went ok from her name thread?
Anymore scans this week?.

The bloating went for me but then out popped a bump, I'm sure it's on it's way! I know it's really normal for the bloating to ease.

Isis - Exciting about your scan being so close!
WE - Sorry you are feeling so tired hopefully it ends soon. Yeah I think OB's scan must have gone well - OB update us!!!
AFM - Feels a bit strange having had my scan but still not telling anyone! People in my office apparently guessed where I was yesterday morning but I haven't confirmed anything :) Still spotting which is getting annoying but apparently my scan may have showed a little pocket of bleeding which might explain it!

Isis-that scan is edging closer, very excited for you!!
WE- the exhaustion is a good pregnancy sign! I'm glad your bloating isgoingdown, gives me hope!!
MV- I'm so glad your scan went well. It must also be a relief to have a reason for the spotting.
AFM- Still having tummy trouble. It's really horrible. H suggested it might be linked to eating dairy, that's when it's worse and i do eat a lot of dairy. SO i've decided to cut it out and see what happens. I had some plain toast this morning so we'll see how it goes. The tiredness is stepping up a level, not the full on exhaustion i know is coming but definitely headed that way!

Isis, it's very exciting, 2 days. But boo to the cleaning (I know it has to be done, I'm just not a fan!)
WE, you sound knackered! Hope you make it to bed early, I always plan to and then 'stuff' happens.
Mrs V - do people at work know, and you not denying it confirms it for them? Must be very strange. Glad the scan explained what's going on, must help put your mind at rest.
I'm not liking having milder symptoms, but I have to remember that my benchmark is feeling-dreadful-all-the-time-and-just-wanting-to-cry-or-sleep-or-both. My tummy feels a bit, I dunno, bruised in one area, which is odd but then we pick up on every little thing I guess. No pink for several days now, which, although I thought I was fine about it I'm actually really happy now I'm not getting it!
And we realised that if our dates are right the baby would be due the 2nd anniversary of our first date, which is a bit sweet and a bit pukey ha ha.
I've calmed right down, am not obsessed with telling everyone, or what we should call him and I was working so hard yesterday (first time snice the BFP) that I even forgot a few times that I'm actually pregnant. Woohoo. 8 days until early scan.

Missed you AR, it sounds rotten, your tummy problems. Because it's a worry without even how 'orrible the symptoms leave you feeling. Hope the dairy thing works for you. Have you spoken to your doctor? Might be worth a call, or midwife, in case they have a tip that you've not come across yet?
13/08/2013 at 09:15
Morning counter. SO glad you are feeling happier and calmer about everything. I think at the beginning it all hits us at once and there is so much to think about it's impossible to be calm.
I've not spoken to anyone yet. I don't have any midwife info as yet but if it doesnt settle down by avoiding dairy i might call my GP and ask if there is anything i can do. Thank goodness i'm not at work at the moment or it'd make life VERY difficult! Got a few weeks until term starts again so hopefully it'll be better by then.
13/08/2013 at 09:24
MrsV, I hope I'm not being insensitive but can I ask what happened with your first pregnancy? With a late loss I think it's normal to be cautious and I'm sure people would understand that.
AR, I think I'd see your GP tbh, and I'm normally one to avoid them. I don't think there's anything seriously wrong but things like dairy are important and I don't think pregnancy is a time to be doing an exclusion diet personally.
Counter, glad you're felling a bit more chilled, it's a pretty intense time. With my son I had no symptoms this time I've had nausea, exhaustion just generally felling meh.

good to see scans going well and some are getting closer to their scans!
just need to rant if i may? i dont understand how i am about to move into my second trimester yet i feel worse now than i ever have before?
i actually called in sick to work yesterday which is something i never do, i had no sleep and got in the bath yesterday and literally could not get back out i didn't even have the strentgh to get myself up, i feel so exhausted and weak, the sickness is persisting and im more tired now then ever??? i'm so confused!
13/08/2013 at 09:34
NLH, you poor thing. How horrid. I felt worse at about that time with my son, and it had been pretty bad prior to that too! Glad you took the day off. Is it worth speaking to your midwife to make sure there's nothing else underlying? Could you have caught a bug perhaps? Are you anaemic? Hope you feel better soon.
13/08/2013 at 09:40
Oh no nlh, that sounds rotten :( I'd speak to your mw too, perhaps it's anaemia or something if you're feeling so tired. Make sure you rest lots
13/08/2013 at 09:46
Thanks Isis. If it's not improved by the end of the week i will see my GP. We'll see how it goes. I know excluding things isn't ideal but with P i literally lived off plain bread and pasta until 16 weeks as couldn't eat anything else and she was fine. I remember last time MW said to just eat what i can and baby will take what it needs from me. Clearly my digestive system doesn't do early pregnancy well!!
13/08/2013 at 09:49
NLH - i'd second what the others said about getting your iron levels checked. I hope you feel better soon.
I have to say my diet has been pretty shocking! It's just cos I have a son with a dairy allergy so I'm always over cautious when people mention tinkering with their own diets.
13/08/2013 at 10:39
Isis of course you can. At our 20 week scan we found out the baby had left hypoplastic heart symdrome which means that the left side of the heart doesn't function. Ultimately it would have meant that the baby would need 3 open heart surgeries before they were 5 and with a not great long term prognosis. They may have even needed a heart transplant later on. We decided we couldn't put the baby through that and terminated. It was a really hard decision and one which I think about all the time.
So that's why I want to wait until 16 week scan to tell people so we can make sure everything is ok this time.
13/08/2013 at 10:48
Sorry forgot personals!
AR - I had a similar in my last pregnancy. Wasn't linked to particular foods. I seem to be the opposite at the moment!!
Counter - Glad you are feeling more positive about things and the pink has stopped. No only my manager knows at work due to me having time off for appointments, everyone else is just guessing!
NLH - I hope you feel better soon and yeah definitely get your iron levels checked out.

Mrs V, what a sad situation to be in. I'm so sorry. Fingers are very crossed for your next scan!
13/08/2013 at 11:46
That sounds so hard MrsV, what a difficult decision to make. I'm guessing it was just one of those things and all should be well this time, really hope it's plain sailing for you now
13/08/2013 at 12:42
Sorry I didn't update last night, didn't seem much point as everyone had finished chatting!
Baby is perfect. Scan was crap but never mind. I've been put forward so now 12+6 and due 19th Feb. Nuchal measurement was 1.8mm, if I don't hear anything within 7 days there's no problem.
I have a pic but I'm in quick reply so will post on a sec. It's pretty rubbish though tbh.
Hope you're all well xx
