im doing fine, wss discharged yestetday. keira is still in scbu, shes breathing with just a little bit of help. unfortunately it wss confirmed that her eyes are very undeveloped and wont work so she will be blind. she will be transferred yo great ormand street when her breathing is stable. there was talk of trying to make her eyes grow or possible plastic surgery as she grows to help support her other facial features. We are a bit numb at the mo, not really sure what to think or do.

Really sorry to hear this. My husband was born early, and his eyes didn't develop. He is now head of accessibility at the BBC and puts me to shame with his level of confidence. I am visually impaired although mine is genetic and had three operations as a child at great Ormand street and they where always amazing. I suppose what I am trying to say its all very overwhelming at the moment, but she will be ok, more than ok amazing! If you want a chat please just message me. X

Thank you everyone. It's just such a shock as all the scans were fine. They think either its genetic issue or I had an infection during pregnancy, although wasn't aware of any! Not been given any contacts, I think they are waiting until we go to great Ormond street and things are confirmed. My h has started looking up charities for advice as he needs to keep busy.
Thank you vlvixon I may message you later on when we've got our heads round it a bit.
