Have just got back from P's check up at the hospital re her cow's milk allergy and reflux.
So having examined her again they are pretty certain it's cows milk allergy. She wants us to stay on Nutramigen until she is a year old and will then look at reintroducing cow's milk. I queried if she should try Neocate as she is still covered in eczema and has diarrhoea every day but because Neocate is so different, they only recommend babies having it if symptoms are very severe or they are in pain, which P isnt anymore.
I also queried the esomeprazole for her reflux as its very strong and again they are recommending she stays on this for now but at half doses.
P is so much happier now. She no longer cries inconsolably for hours on end every day and she has proper naps in the day. Before her milk was changed she would sleep for a total of 1 hour max during the day in chunks of 10 mins. She is also sleeping through more often than not now too.
So we are happy bunnies! Thank you all again for your support! Xx

MaisieMoo, hope you don't mind me asking but what were P's symptoms? The reason I ask is I have been to the docs today to request a paediatricians appointment for my 5 week old. She has both colic and reflux symptoms and I have tried all the usual remedies and different types of off the shelf milks but the poor love is still just so unhappy and cries all day long :-(

Great news MM. We are still waiting on our hospital appointment but F seems ok on omeprazole and nutramigen aa so not too concerned even if his sleep is still terrible. Thankfully my GP was willing to prescribe what he needed and I wasn't fobbed off. Hopefully things continue to improve and the eczema clears up soon x

MD - P's symptoms were crying inconsolably for hours every day, not sleeping during the day, eczema, contantly snotty, silent reflux, diarrhoea every day, wheezing. My main advice would be dont give up!! I knew that P had milk allergy from a week old and its only today when she is 6 months on Friday that we have an official diagnoses. Good luck xxx

Same as us. Took 28 weeks. Which is blooming awful.
Still I am very pleased to hear you got there in the end x
