Hi All, I need urgent advice - I'm in Hong Kong on business and am 6 + 2 today. I have just started spotting dark brown blood . I am terrifed and don't know what to do. I have slight cramping but nothing serious.
Do I need to just wait it out and see if it stops or do I need to look for a doctor? I'm not sure if they could even see a heartbeat..... what happens if I am misscarrying? Will it just be like a heavy period????
Any advice needed
Update - thank you all for your wonderful support over the last few days - you were my lifeline while being so far away from home. Well, without going into all the details, I was at the hospital again this afternoon and they confirmed that I have miscarried. I am flying home tomorrow night and am simply numb - holding it all together until I get home. Will be AWOL for a while until I feel up to coming back on. Thanks again xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sue

Rebajay asked a really similar question yesterday. Most responses seem to be that its normal and should stop of its own accord. Brown blood is old blood and its bright red blood that is more worrying x
Oh you poor thing, what a worry. The good news is that brown blood is old blood, and normal for lots of people in first tri. There's a chance they could see a hb at 6+2, but if your dates are even a couple of days out it's v.borderline.
I think it's a case of waiting it out, if you get severe cramps then please seek help.
Fingers crossed it's just one of those things x

thanks all... terrified here

Oh how horrible for you Sue. As others have said it is relatively common (I experienced it myself too) so I would hang on unless it gets any worse or you experience stronger tummy painds.
Thinking of you and hope it goes soon! xx
If you don't have cramps then its probably just old blood. Loads of ladies on here will tell you that they had bleeding and everything was fine.
Unfortunately I had brown blood and it ended in a mmc so please get checked when you get home if the bleeding continues.
Hope everything is ok xx

Oh Sue, how worrying, and even more so as you're away from home.
I don't have experience of it but I know lots of ladies experience some brown blood in early pregnancy and everything's fine. When are you back in Germany?

Oh hun i hope everything is ok. Brown blood is better than red blood as others have said. I had brown blood at 8 weeks and all was fine. I had a mc last year at 5 weeks and it was just like a period with no medical intervention needed but if you get bad cramps seek medical advice xd

Sue I've had brown blood about 3 or 4 times now with this pregnancy, the first being about 6weeks. Everything was fine and the nurse I saw at epu said its was soooo normal as the baby is making space and essentially having a clear out! I even had bright red bleeding at the weekend and went for a scan on sun and everything was fine.
I had my first scan at 6+1 and they could see the baby's heartbeat. As imp said, when are you back home? If it stays brown then I wouldn't worry if you can and just call your epu or midwife when you get home. I was exactly the same, stressing out but after the first brown bleeding, the next couple of times I was ok as I knew to expect it.
I hope you ok xx

Thanks Everyone - managed to sleep - brown spotting continues but with tiny cramps. More worrying is that my boobs hardly hurt anymore. Anyway - I'm going to call my doctor later and make an appointment for a scan on Monday - I get back Saturday so time will tell
thanks for all your support - I am crsossing my fingers......
