As P seems to be reacting quite strongly to the MMR i have been googling a fair bit about it and discovered this...
It's a government system for reporting reactions to vaccines. It never occurred to me to think about how they came up with statistics on vaccine reactions as they obviously don't ask everyone to feed back. However, i think if more people knew about it they might respond, and that can only be a good thing for future research and education etc.
As an aside i cannot believe the RUBBISH you find online about how dangerous the MMR is and peoples opinion on it. On one forum a woman said she wasn't going to get her child immunised because she couldn't afford to take time off to deal with the possible side effects!! We are into day 4 of P being very poorly but i would far rather this than the risk of her getting one of the diseases.
Anyway, i just thought i'd share the link around. It's from the NHS website so it's definitely an official thing.

That's a handy link, I didn't know that you could report the side effects. Perhaps that link could be added to a vaccines section on here. I can only imagine the crap spouted by others, that goodness for the common sense of this place!

Hope P feels better soon! Flynn was really poorly after his too but I had Tate and Rafferty done and they had no reaction at all.

I work for a pharmaceutical company. So few people know they should report adverse reactions! But it is so important. Some side effects are well known but even so you should let your practice know if it's prescribed or the manufacturer of it's bought. Reporting adverse reactions is a huge regulatory activity for us .even the most minor things have to be reported

I'm surprised this isn't more publicised to be honest.

My MIL came with me for O's latest jabs and dropped the bombshell to the nurse that she never got her youngest few vaccinated as it made one if the older ones poorly and they wouldn't stop crying. The nurse was gobsmacked. Also said that nobody gets M M or R anymore so why do we need to vaccinate. Erm... That would be because most other children ARE vaccinated.
