Hi ladies, so Friday I had my initial appt with the midwife and I got away all my notes (not sure if they all do this) and being as interested as I am I thought I'd give it a good read....what a mistake! I thought I was well educated on the whole birthing before and after process ect but it actually scared me to the point I'm scared to read it again! Is anyone else like this? I'm not sure if it was my hormones playing havoc with me but it made me worry that I'd be a terrible parent, terrible in labour and not emotionally and mentally strong enough to cope. Any other new mums feeling a bit over whelmed? Xx

Try not to worry, it's just your hormones making you feel like this. We all worried as first time mums as you are entering the unknown. Wanting a child is the first step to being a good parent.

its amazing what your body and mind can do when it needs to, if labour was so bad we would all be only children with no siblings. Try to relax you will have many options available in terms of pain relief to help you, if it helps with my first child I asked for an epidural and watched the Simpsons quite happily for hours after.... I ended up not feeling a thing..... Almost bliss! X
