    Hi girls

Thought I would share my early scan experience with you, as it was so positive. I always seem to be worrying and moaning on here, so wanted to even up the balance!!

So anyhoo we went for an early scan yesterday. Saw the consultant first who was lovely and also offered us another scan in a fortnight (we nearly bit her hand off!). I was feeling very anxious and teary and the consultant was so nice with me, very compassionate and empathetic. I will be seeing her again in a month - I think she offered me this cos I was upset, what a lovely thing to do.

Then we went for our scan. The sonographer was lovely - she had read my notes so knew my history, which meant I didn't have to go through all the painful details. She made a point of finding a really good view of baby where I could see a strong heartbeat. She told us that baby was wriggling around and pointed out its bum and head (not that you could really see them at this stage - they were just blobs). She also made sure that all my other parts (ovaries etc) were looking healthy. She pointed out loads of stuff to me but I have no idea how she knew what they were - it all looked like a grey blur to me!

The baby is about 15mm long at the moment so I am about 7+5 which tallies with my dates, so right now I am on top of the world!

    xxSara

Hiya, I was with you (for a short time) in Due in April and remember your story, I'm so glad you have had good news and you saw your little bean! Having a nice consultant and sonographer must have made it so much better. I had scans at 7 and 9 weeks and the second one was so much clearer it was amazing. I hope you get some lovely piccies next time, xxx

I feel sicky on and off - seems to go a bit if I eat. Just trying to keep a lid on my excitement at the moment.

That's great news moonandstars! I've gone into hiding until I got my bfp so don't think I'd seen your bfp announcement. Massive congratulations!

Was your scan at the RBH epu? I'm seeing my gp tomorrow and am going to push for a referral there for a scan. Hope I have as positive an experience there in a few weeks as you seem to have done!

    Congrats again x x x x

Gems I have another scan this Thursday when I will be (God willing) 9+5. To be honest, I'm very nervous about it.

Beccarroo the scan was at RBH. Because I had a partial molar pg I was referred by Charing Cross (the hospital doing my follow up care) to have my pregnancy confirmed by scan. So now I am under consultant care for this pregnancy. At my first scan I was a nervous wreck so the lovely consultant said I could have another scan in two weeks (which is the one I am having this week), and another in a month (so two weeks from this Thursday). It wasn't at the EPU though it was in the maternity/gyne ward and the scan was in the actual scan place rather than the EPU.

I would really try and push for an early scan - it was (in the end) very reassuring and the extra care I am now having has really helped me feel supported.

Good luck with your GP today.
