Morning all, couldn't see a thread started yet so apologies if I've missed it!
how is everyone?
im off on annual leave this week which is rather nice indeed! Got some lunch dates planned and a wedding to go to at the end of the week. TTC wise, AF due today or tomorrow, have had some spotting which is how AF normally starts so feeling pretty bummed out! Oh well, here's to the next cycle.
hi to those who follow x
25/03/2013 at 09:24
Im on annual leave too! Not got much planned though, just a chillaxing week and spending time with my Mum before she goes to Australia for 6 weeks next week!
Have just booked my suprise trip to London for OHs birthday present, so have lots to pay for and save up for the next couple of months so will just be having lots of duvet nights too!
I'm CD5 - i was pretty ok with AF arriving. with the cycle being back to 'preMC' length, just hoping it stays this way! Also gives me longer to save pennies and loose some pounds too! Thats the way i'm looking at things!
Im rea;y sorry AF has arrived. But atleast you can have a drink at the wedding hey x

Yay to annual leave! Aw hope you have a nice time with your mum, I'd love to go to Australia. What have you got planned for London? Am liking your positivity for this cycle and am glad your cycles are going back to how they used to be, fx they stay that way! Yep I plan on having MANY drinks at the wedding lol!x

Morning ladies. I am still trying to dip in and out a bit until I can decide where I belong. I am still feeling a bit lost.
CO- Sounds like you have a nice week ahead, i am jealous of the annual leave and the wedding at the end of the week.
Suzie, you too, it's not fair all these people having annual leave. Although at least it's a 4 day weekend coming up.
AFM- AF finally arrived on Saturday. It was a massive relief in a lot of ways as I know where I stand now, but a little bit of me is also terrified of trying again. We had a lvely weeekend, friends came up to visit us and our new house and we ate and drank loads. I am now a fatty bum bum!
25/03/2013 at 10:07
Sorry you are feeling a bit lost.
I completely know how you feel about being terrified. Its strange to explain isnt it. As much as you want a baby its the most terrifying thing!
Sounds like you had a nice weekend though - hope your food and drink was yummy!!!
25/03/2013 at 11:05
Hope you have nice weeks off Sisue and CO. Sorry AF is on its way CO, but fingers crossed the next month is your lucky one. Hope you have some nice quality time with your mum Susie.
Glad you had a nice weekend Imp - give yourself time to adjust to the new situation, I'n sure what you are feeling is to be expected.
As for me I too am on hols. Last week was manic at work - so busy - these next few months are my busy period. So thats why I wasn't around a lot last week. They are doing a big reorganisation at work, so although I don't loose my job, I will loose my responsibilities (and the money that goes with it). There are about 45 of us loosing our responsibilities and there will be approx 20 new roles that everyone (in the whole place, not just those loosing their current roles) can apply for - some of these are a drop for me though so I will only have 10 positions that are suitable for me to apply to. I'm pretty gutted. I only moved to this place a year ago, leaving my previous work which I loved, as the commute to my present job is much better. I really like my current role too, so its upsetting that it won't exist anymore, and I may end up in a worst position. So after the easter break I'll be applying for the new positions and hopefully getting an interview for one. But I'm trying hard to be positive and see it as an opportunity for a new direction in my career.
Today I went to the dentist to sort a broken tooth, and now I'm waiting on a call from the mortagage people about our new house. Then I need to get on with some artwork. Seeing my mum tomorrow which will be nice.
Hope you all have a lovely few days.

Hi Raincloud, another person on annual leave! Sorry to hear about the tough time at your work, I hope that once you start reapplying for jobs you get one that you love. You never know, it might be the job of your dreams?! Sounds like you've got a lovely few days ahead too. Enjoy them.
25/03/2013 at 11:20
Thanks Imp. I'll apply for the 'new' internal ones first, then if I don't get anywhere I'll think about whether I need to move on. One step at a time.
25/03/2013 at 13:18
Imp, am glad to hear you know where you are in your cycle now, sorry you're feeling a bit lost though, just pop on here whenever you feel like it! Sounds like you had a nice weekend :)
Raincloud, aw that's such a shame about your job and having to reapply, how frustrating. Fx you get the job you want. Enjoy your week off, sounds like you need it after such a stressful week at work.
I'm still in my pjs - ooops!
25/03/2013 at 13:22
CO - that's rubbish re AF. Boo! I'm glad you've got some nice time off though and some nice plans. Enjoy a wee vino or two to cheer yourself up.
Suzie - Yay to annual leave, exciting holiday plans and positive mental attitude!! That's great! Where's your mum headed? H and I are going to Oz for 3 weeks in May - can't wait!
Imp - don't fret too much love. Post when you feel like it and if you find it easier to be on another thread or none at all then it's no probs. It's only natural that it will take time. big hugs to you!
Raincloud - that is so crap about work! I'd be so gutted as well. Have you started working on your application for the new posts? I saw your thread re temping. I'm on my 3/4 cycle temping if you have any questions. Are you using FF? I try not to scrutinise my chart TOO much until I'm due to ov and then I'm just looking for the temp rise. And towards the end of the cycle waiting for that dip...or keeping everything crossed that it won't!
AFM TTC wise I'm waiting to ov. DTD loads which has been nice but not helpful for TTC purposes! Ha! CD18 today which would normally be ov day but not this cycle! I'm feeling quite relaxed this month and not doing OPKs is helping. We are DTD every other day and enjoying that for what it is. Other than that life is grand! Off home to Skye this weekend for Easter. Anyone else got plans?
25/03/2013 at 18:39
CO - not 100% sure what we will be doing yet. I am hoping we will do a day of sight seeing and a day of shopping, and then a show one night!
raincloud - that sounds pants about work. Our work just let alot of people go, i was one of the two people they kept out of 10 people, very scary!!
sweetpea - Shes going to Melbourne. Thats where my family are. When we go though we usually try and take the chance to see somewhere different in Australia while we are there as the internal flights are cheap, last time we did Sydney and the time before that was Brisbane. Where are you heading? Who are you flying with?
No plans for easter as such. OH is off to watch Liverpool play on easter sunday and i am cooking for the parents are bro, SIL and kids on Easter Monday.
Did i mention that OH has been signed back into work now? Hes back on 2nd April after a weeks holiday that we are having now. We are very relieved!
27/03/2013 at 09:28
How is everyone?
Ive woken up with a chesty cough and a sore throat, thought i was getting better! How annoying!
Nothing to report on the TTC front at the moment!
27/03/2013 at 12:37
Aw that's rubbish Suzie - it's really been hanging out that lurgy! I take it you've been to Aus reguarly? It's unreal how cheap internal flights are! We were amazed. Where do you like? We are going to Brisbane to visit one of my oldest friends who lives there with her hubs and who I've just found out is 9 weeks pregnant. First month trying! Then off to Cairns where we will either snorkel or dive depending on if I manage to conceive between now and then, and then Sydney. We have 3 weeks in total and I can't wait!!
TTC wise, CD 20 and I'm still waiting to ov although in the zone so it should be the next day or two!
27/03/2013 at 12:45
I know, its really annoying me!
I personally have been to Australia 4 times. We are very lucky that we have family there, so rent is very cheap for us and we would eat most meals at home.
I have not been to Cairns, but Sydney is pretty amazing. Im very jealous!!
Who are you flying with?
We were due to go March 2013 (for the Grand Prix), obviously thinking that i'd have a baby by then (this trip was organised Dec 2011 so never thought for one minute it would take this long to get our baby). But we have decided to put the trip on hold and have a baby and then go when i am on maternity leave whenever that will be.
We have said that we want to aim to go every 4 years, but saving that amount of money every 4 years, not sure whether it can be done, but we will do our best!
27/03/2013 at 12:56
Sweetpea, glad to hear you're taking a laid back approach to ttc and enjoying dtd, I really need to be more laid back about it all! Am very jealous of your trip to oz!
Suzie, aw that's rubbish you're feeling so ill, hope you get better soon.
Nothing to report ttc wise here, just waiting for AF to leave. Nothing really planned for Easter apart from having a wedding to go to on Saturday which should be nice.
27/03/2013 at 14:23
Hi CO - good to see you girl! I hope AF buggers off ASAP. Ooo I love a good wedding! I've not been to one since we got married in July and suspect I'd sob my way through one now!! We have two this year - one I'm doing the cake for in July and the other is H's bestie who is getting married in Sweden! Another lovely trip in the pipeline for us!
Suzie - you are so lucky having family in Aus! It's a great excuse to go and a fabulous opportunity to explore. The grand prix happening must have hurt somewhat. Its incredible how we think life is going to pan out and then it all changes in the blink of an eye. We are flying with Quantas. I went to New Zealand (with a 3 day stopover in Sydney) in 2010 and flew Quantas then and thought it was quite good. I know people rave about Emirates though.
27/03/2013 at 18:58
Quantas are ace.
We usually fly with Singapore Airlines now, they are our of this world! Want to try Emirates though, have heard many good things about them.
28/03/2013 at 10:36
Sweetpea, what sort of cake are you making??how lovely that you're able to something like that for someone! I love a good wedding too but do find them more emosh since we got married!
You're both making me want to book a trip to oz now hehe!
28/03/2013 at 13:26
Are you feeling better Susie? cough and sore throats are not nice.
I went to Oz five years ago Sweetpea - we were there for 5 weeks and I loved it. I went to Cairns, and went on the reef. I couldn't dive though as they wouldn't let me as I'm asthmatic - not sure why as I've done it before and since and really it is very very mild now, but I think they were concerned about their insurance. I did snorkel though and they did a snorkel tour where one of the guides pointed out things, told us about the fish and sealife, showed us various corels, shells etc and explained how things worked, what they ate etc. That was excellent. We also went into the mangro swamps and saw crocodiles. They were incredable, like stepping back in time and seeing dinosours, so big and we got to go pretty close to them, I got fab photos. I think it was in Cairns we held koalas too - very cute.
We went to Sydney too. We did the bridge walk - very exciting and cool, but scarey too. We saw a play at the opera house, walked in the gardens, went on a boat in the harbour, wandered around the markets, went to bondi beach, shopped, sampled a bit of the nightlife. Loved it! You will have awonderful time.
Hope you enjoy the wedding CO. I always cry at weddings, even ones on the tv. But I didn't cry at my own, didn't even get emotional in that way which I assumed I would. I was just so excited, I couldn't stand still at the top of the aisle. Fingers crossed for good weather for you.
As for me, OPK's suggest I haven't ovulated yet, but five days ago my temperature rose for three consecutive days, then dipped very slightly by 0.5 c yesterday and up again today. Which I think, if I have understood things people on MD have said means I have ovulated? If I haven't I'm looking at an oddly long cycle again. Why can't I be one of those get pregnant straight away women? :(
Well after my rage yesterday about the delivery man not knocking on the door, today they have delivered. It was H birthday present so I'm glad it arrived ready for next week. I hope he likes it. I've been making his cake this morning. It's got six layers of sponge, each one a different colour (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) so when you cut it open it will be a rainbow cake. (I have a picture in my head of what I hope it will look like) I've sandwiched all the layers with chocolate butter cream and then added some rainbow sprinkles. His birthday is next weekend but we're going to his sisters for easter tomorrow so I thought we could celebrate his birthday a little early with his family, nephews and parents. I have cake sparklers in the shape of a 4 and an 0 as well.
28/03/2013 at 18:18
CO - Hope you enjoy your wedding. I havent been to one since my wedding but have one coming up and know im gonna be an emotional wreck as i miss my day so much :(
