Finally, after living at my parents house for nearly 9 months, we were told yesterday that there is a house that's become available (we were on the council housing list) It's everything we had been hoping for. a 2 bedroom mid terrace house with a front and back garden!
We won't get the keys for a few weeks yet, but we can now start to plan what our little boys room is going to look like!
The problem is that he's going to be a year old, so i don't want his room to be too baby-ish. I was thinking of doing a kind of Gruffalo forest theme for him, but i'm not sure. My younger siblings are very talented at drawing, so i was going to ask them to paint something.
What do your little ones rooms look like?

We have an owl theme in D's room, its a bit baby-ish but will last a few more years I think. Gruffalo theme sounds good. When D is older I might do a cowboys and indians theme

There are some Gruffalo themed wall stickers that you can get, really easy to put up. Congratulations on getting your house by the way

We're just doing O's big boy room now as we've just moved. We've gone for 1 wall of the Next Pirate wallpaper and 3 neutral walls. Plain blue curtains, and then 1 set of pirate bedding and other sets plain white/shades of blue. His wardrobe and chest if drawers are blue too. We didn't want an overly themed room for him as they're fickle St this age and grow out of things v quickly. Figured with just 1 feature wall and fairly interchangeable accessories etc it meant we can easily change as and when x

These sound like fab rooms! I'm so excited and overwhelmed at the same time! I want his room to be perfect seeing as he kind of missed out on having his own nursery from the start.

Nothing to add but very pleased for you on house news. It's going to be fantastic to have your own space after that time :)

Excellent news! I love the idea of your siblings painting something on the wall, what a lovely touch that would be.
F has a nautical themed bedroom. His walls are magnolia and his furniture is white. He has blue, red and white striped curtains and I'm in the middle of sorting out a pale blue blackout roller blind to go with them. His bedding is predominantly white but has some boats appliquéd on. He also has a few nautical themed wall decorations.

My nephews have a dinosaur theme. I've also seen boat/nautical ones and jungle themes which looked good.
