We started BLW with Ben on Monday. We started with peppers, cucumber and melon, all seemed fine. We the tried broccoli and on the days he's had this he's woken in the night. It seems like he's got terrible wind. We didn't give him any food on sat and he slept through again, gave brocolli and sweet potato yesterday and he was up at 1, the only thing we can do to get him back to sleep is give him a bottle. Has anyone else had this? I'm going to not give him broccoli for a few days but it just seems a bit odd. He does suffer from reflux so not sure if that's part of the issue

Some vegetables can give you wind, broccoli is one of them. I'd avoid cruciferous vegetables (the broccoli family) for a bit until he's a bit more used to food or maybe give it to him earlier in the day.

I personally didn't notice this with I when we started BLW with her & Broccoli was in her 1st meal. It could be this but then night wakings could be down to so many things! It's definitely worth cutting it out for a few days to see if it makes a difference

I do remember Miss CV was very noticably more unsettled when we started weaning her - I never thought to narrow it down to particular foods, and just assumed it was having solids going through her system for the first time in general. It settled down quickly enough, but if I thought there was a particular culprit I'd personally be leaving that out until weaning was a bit more established - sleep is too important!

There's a lot going on developmentally at that age, which can cause their sleep to go a bit awry, it could be to do with that.
