I don't have any questions for Annabel as I've not even finished cooking my little one yet but I just wanted to say I referenced her books alot during my childcare course a few years ago at college and love her recipes. Put many of them into practice with the children I was caring for too :) I hope ladies with babies/children can make the most of the opportunity!

Hi Annabel. I have two boys aged 3 and 4 years old and getting them to eat vegetables and salad is a real challenge. How can I encourage them to eat more vegetables without having meal time tantrums? Thank you!

My little boy (27 months) likes most flavours but if a food is of a certain texture he won't touch it even though he likes the taste. Is there anything I can do to encourage him to eat these foods or is it just a case of persevering and one day he might just eat it? Examples are mince, tomatoes, pear...

My daughter has thankfully grown out of her dairy and egg allergies, but could you share some tips on weaning a child with these allergies.

At mealtimes, my son (3) has a few mouthfuls of food and then says he's done, only for him to be asking for more food 30 mins later. Are there any tips for encouraging him to eat more by himself rather than resorting to us making him eat and spoon feeding him?

Can you share some ideas for healthy and quick lunch boxes?
What would you advise for a baby (10 months) who always seems to prefer carbs over other food groups? If she is offered a selection of foods on her highchair tray, she always chooses the carb option and will often not eat very much of the other stuff.

Just thought of another question. Are there any ways to get a child to try food out before turning their nose up at it?

Facebook Fan Kelly Baxter has asked: 'Could I please have a recipe for pasta sauce. Lactose and soya free. Preferably sweet veg. Thank you'

My son, almost 29 months, seems to prefer to pick/graze at foods throughout the day rather than sit and have meals. He's pretty good at sitting down to eat breakfast but lunch and dinner are a bit of a challenge, he just doesn't like sitting still for long! What's the best way to manage this? I feel like he's constantly eating but not actually eating proper meals as such.

Great, I have loads of AK's book for cooking and use them regularly, I still make recipes from the finger food book for my kids, and I now have a couple of family cook books too.
My question - I have trouble getting my 4 year old to eat fruit and most examples of hiding fruit are dessert based - she is not keen on desserts (hates jelly!), do you have any other suggestions for hiding fruit in her evening meal? Thanks.

I am weaning my 5 & half month old baby & just starting the third week of Annabel's meal planner. Going very well and so far she likes everything I have given her to eat, however she's not at all keen on water or diluted freshly squeezed orange juice. Have been offering her often but not forcing her but she keep spitting it out. She has been exclusively breastfed since birth. Any suggestions on how to get her drinking water?
She also loves food so much that she gets quite upset when she's finished sometimes - do I give her more or stick to portions (don't want her putting on far too much weight!)? Many thanks!

Riana Nel Karsten, one of our Facebook Fans has asked: 'What should a 7 month 3 week old baby be eating and how much of it? Is there an alternative to baby porridge, my baby boy does not like it all that much?'

My daughter loves food & has a huge appetite but at nearly 2 1/2 she doesn't like to try anything new. Luckily we've introduced a lot of food to her so I'm not worried about the variety that she eats, is there anything I can do to help her try new food without dismissing it before trying it? (We always eat the same as her so only ever positive about food & meal times)

Facebook Fan Michelle Mayger has asked 'My son will not eat meals, he just wants to pick all the time. How do I encourage him to eat a whole meal and stop grazing?'

I used a lot of your receipes from weaning to toddler and have several of your books. Can you give any sugar free dessert, snack or cake recipes for toddler snacks?

I am having big feeding issues with my 17 month old son. He will not eat any lumpy or textured food. If I do manage to get any lumpy food in his mouth he immediately projectile vomits. I have had him checked by our doctor and she found no physical cause. The health visitor has just advised to persevere. He will not eat any finger foods or spoon feed himself. He only eats smooth food from baby jars, and smooth yoghurts. It is very difficult to get him to eat savoury baby jars although he cannot get the sweet jars down quick enough.
I am really struggling to know what to do next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I have an 8 month old baby boy who has now tried all the major food groups. What proportion of each food group ie protein, carbs, fruit & veg etc. should he be having each day?

Also (if I'm allowed another question?!) please can you tell me how many times a week I can give my little boy eggs? Thank you.
