Hi everyone. How are you all?
I think I should really be in 2nd Tri around now but I'm going to stay here a bit longer if nobody minds. I think I would be talking to myself if I moved over. We booked our table at a restaurant for Christmas Day yesterday. We've never been out for christmas dinner before. But thought we would give it a go so nobody has to cook and wash up. I'm quite excited about it really. We've also booked a trip to York early in December. I love it there and really want to see the Xmas lights and Xmas market.

Hi MS - Sounds like you've been busy! Christmas Day lunch out sounds good. When are you going to York? I spend a lot of time there.
I had my booking in appointment yesterday which was great, I came away with a scan date, an antenatal appointment with the consultant, my next midwife appointment, and a whole host of reading material. Exciting! Just a shame my MIL took the shine of the day by having another psycho episode at H - she really is a nasty piece of work. As a result of that, I had no sleep last night so I feel rotten today. At least once today is over I'm off for the rest of the week and can sleep plenty if I so wish!

MS - How lovely! Sounds like a great idea. H and I have never spent Christmas just us, we either go to his Mums or my Mums so it's something we don't think about, that said I would love to have dinner at ours one year just because I've never actually done Christmas dinner ever, and I'm almost 35! York will be lovely too sounds like a really nice Christmas you have in store. Can't believe you won't be around much longer now, where has the time gone!
ST - So when's the big day? How exciting for you, I've been warned that the booking in appointment can be quite boring, but after reading how yours went I'm really excited about mine! How long did it all take? What is your MIL like! What over now?
AFM - Our diary is filing up fast for December we have lots of lovely things planned, dining out with friends, Christmas fancy dress parties, Cheshire Oakes to do all our Christmas shopping, but the best by far is that I am off to Hoar Cross Hall Spa next weekend for a whole 2 days of full on pampering, relaxation and exquisite food with some of my lovely lady friends. I am so excited!
Nothing really to add about my pregnancy, headaches have tailed off thank god, still have the nausea, but I'm feeling ok, just counting down the days until Friday the 5th December when hopefully we get to meet our baby again, last time we seen him/her it was just a tiny blob on a screen so I know that this scan will be so emotional. Maybe then it might all sink in. x

ST - glad that your booking in went really well. Sorry to hear that your MIL put a downer on the day. We're going to York on 4th Dec and staying the night.
Claire - I'm so jealous of you going to hoar cross hall. It's one of my favourite places! Do the friends you are going with know that you are expecting? Your plans in December sound great. Glad the headaches are going.

Wow Claire, you are busy! The spa sounds amazing, do you know what you're going to have done? Glad the headaches have eased off a bit - I definitely sympathise there, I can't remember what it's like to not have one. Our scan will be on 16th December at 12+2, it fits in perfectly before our holiday! The booking in appointment is a lot of questions and form filling, but the midwife was lovely and we had a nice bit of a chat as well. It took about an hour. H went to see MIL last night to ask her to admit she did wrong, apologise to me and make peace, and she went batsh*t crazy at him and somehow turned him into the bad guy!?!? She doesn't deserve a son as good as he is, he puts up with so much from her.
MS - I'm sure you will have a lovely time! Are you staying in the centre?

MS - It's a beautiful place isn't it. We went last year too and decided to make it an annual thing :) There are 5 of us in total, 2 are my really close mates so they know but the other 2 don't but I think I'll have to say something because I won't be joining them for a few things, sauna, steam room etc., it just saves speculation and I know they won't say a word so I'm happy to tell them.
ST - I'm having a back massage, I've already checked with the spa and they are giving me a therapist trained in pregnancy which is reassuring and I'm having a manicure and pedicure :) She sounds so unreasonable. He tried, I wouldn't bother again as you don't seem to get anywhere and it just causes you both distress. She's the one that will end up missing out massively.

Claire that sounds lovely, I bet you can't wait! You're right, and for me it's easy to say enough's enough and I don't care whether or not we have any kind of relationship. For H it's not quite so easy, he wants to believe the best in her will come round and it will all be fine (natural and understandable), but she really is just poisonous. She certainly won't have the relationship with my child that she has with SIL's children, I have huge safety concerns above all else.

Yes we're staying in the centre, in the Hampton by Hilton hotel. We've stayed there before and really liked it.
ST- she sounds like a waste if space. I feel sorry for you and your H. Especially as he tried to sort it all out. I don't get on with my MIL either. Nasty piece of work she is. But I have to put up with her for Hs sake.
Claire- Can I join you at the spa? Ha! I really do love it there. It's been too long since I last went. Are you just going for the day or staying over?

That's right next to H's office MS! Whenever we go on work nights out in York I always try to book there with it being so close but it's always full.
