Morning ladies! Hope we are all well!
Well after pondering over whether to go shopping or get some jobs done yesterday I gave in and went shopping. So today I think I should really start to sort out my old clothes and get things ready for good old e-bay. Not got much else planned for the day.

Morning MS, oh shopping what did you buy?
Not a lot to report here. Feeling baby a lot more now. Phoned the MW yesterday and left a message asking for my matB1 form. I break up for the summer in under three weeks so need it before then really and I don't have another MW appointment for another 6 weeks. Day off today but actually looking forward to work tomorrow as I'm taking a group of students to London for a tour of Shakespeare's Globe and to watch war horse. Should be good albeit a long day xx

Ms, what did you buy?
Mrs B, enjoy your day off. Tomorrow sounds like a great day at work, way more interesting than mine!
AFM, I'm feeling marginally better. I'm hopeful that this is me moving into the infamous "blooming" stage that everyone talks about. I hope so as I'm fed up of feeling poop!

Hope you enjoyed shopping MS?
Sounds tiring MrsB!
We are off birthday pressie shopping shortly. I need pressie for my LO (who will be 2 in just under 2 weeks), then friends daughter who is gonna be 12 and a different friends son who will be 11. What the hell do pre-teen kids want for their birthdays?? Arrghh (i refuse to give cash!)
Hi Imp, glad your feeling a smidgen better
03/07/2013 at 08:34
Thanks HF! I can't help on the birthday presents, I'm useless at buying presents for anyone, let alone 11 year olds!
03/07/2013 at 08:36
All baby things and nothing "for me" of course! Haha. I got a lovely knitted blanket and some more bambino mio nappies from mamas and papas. I also got a baby names book and a "fantastic first time father" book for H. So didn't go too mad really.
Mrs B- will you be going back to work after the summer hols?
Imp - i'm still yet to feel "blooming", hope you do though.
Horsefan - cant help with the presents ideas, sorry. But hope you enjoy shopping.

Yes MS I will. Gonna try and make it til oct half term. Which will be round the 38.5 week mark. Did it last time with Isla and I was still full time so should be ok now part time. Then I'll go back for next academic year. Sep 2014!!

mummysimpson- I would have chosen the shopping option too! was it for yourself or for baby? Good luck today, I didn get nay sorting done yesterday, the spare room looks like a bob hit it with clothes everywhere!
MrsB- htat sounds like a great day tomorrow! I hope it isnt too knackering!
Imp I hope for your sake that your hitting the good phase too!!!
HorseFan- are they girls or boys? I would always get my niece a funky bag- cant go wrong in Claire's and my nephew was always happy with an iTunes voucher!
AFM- have my 16 week MW app this morning. Have no idea what to expect except me to go through my list of questions! The new hospital i have to go to is about a 30 min walk so thought that would kill some time! later on im meeting my preggo friend at our local retail center for tea, cake and to look at baby stuff! I plan to just window shop, but we shall see!
My H works in a lab and this week they have had to do refresher health and safety training. He really wasnt looking forward to it but was pleased with himself yesterday when he got home as he had learnt how to do CPR on a baby and what to do if a baby chokes! how handy! He is feeling pants at the moment though. very similar to what i had last week so i think it must have been a bug rather than hayfever! Ive pointed out that I got through it with out any medication but he still thinks he is worse off!!

Good work mrs S, I've seen a lovely knitted blanket in next. Where us yours from?
Mrs bass, hope your appointment goes well today. I've got mine a week on Monday. You can tell me what they do!

*Pokes head tentatively round the door*
ms sounds like you had a great time shopping! I'm not letting myself go near shops atm, I want to buy everything lol
MrsB, I'm very jealous of your summer break!! Hope you make it to October in one piece!
Imp glad you're feeling better
HF I usually find crafty stuff tends to go down quite well with pre teen girls. No idea if that's any help or not though...
MrsBass, good like with the mw and have a lovely afternoon. MEn can be such wimps lol, my oh is always picking up colds and you'd think it was the end of the world!!!
AFM 14 weeks today! Can't believe I made it this far... I'm totally wiped out, went to london monday night and came back yesterday but I was tired before I left. I thought I was supposed to have more energy now, not less... Oh well, everyone I've told so far has said I'm glowing but I think that's because I still can't stop grinning about it, at least the concealer hides the giant sacks under my eyes! Also, does anyone know how long it usually takes to get an appointment through for consultant triage? I had my booking appointment 4 weeks ago and I've heard nothing since, should I chase the hospital? Also, my purple folder says I should have had my maternity exemption certificate at my booking appointment, I thought it was later but I never got it (or my bounty pack actually), should I be chasing for it? The next appointment I have scheduled is my 20 week scan, I've got nothing else in my diary at all which I'm finding a little unnerving

Jem nice to see you over here. Yes I got my exemption form with my bounty pack at booking app. Do you not have a 16 week MW appointment? I did and this is my second baby. Not sure about consultant sorry x

Hi all!! I'm back!
Had a couple of weeks annual leave spent one of them in Spain (OH mum, dad, sister and her kids live there!) was lovely to get some sun and I didn't feel too fat in my bikini's! Not sure I'll ever feel ok in a bikini again so thought I best wear it loads ha ha! Was lovely and relaxing read loads of books (Dawn French's book v funny 50 shades of Grey what a load of S***)
Then the week after had a lovely week jusy being at home catching up with friends one of whom did me an amazing excel spreadsheet with wages etc to work out my maternity pay and how much dosh we'll have left once both at work with baby in nursery or childminders relived I'll still be able to eat!! ha ha Although I'll be back at work for week 40 of my maternity leave I worked out for me to have week 40-52 off work we would only have £6.50 to live on! I'm good at getting cheap food but not that good!
Visited my gran and sat about the house! On Saturday we went to Hard Rock Calling to see Kasabian and others was fab especially as I think it will be my last gig for a while sob!
Last night bought what I think is bargain of the century a quinny buzz 3 travel system pram/pushchair/car seat for £200 off eBay then spent all night worrying I bought something for the baby that isn't even here yet! (was my first baby related purchase!)
I'm back at work now system is down luckily so can't do much! (I'm a system admin for a mental health trust)
I'm 18 weeks today and counting down to our next scan on the 18th July can't wait! Had my 16 week midwife appointment when off as well heard the heartbeat was amazing!
Anyway if you've got this far sorry for rambling on!!
03/07/2013 at 10:41
Hi Jem, I have also been exhausted so I'm not sur when that passes tbh!
I also got my exemption form at my last appointment. You can get one from your GP as well though. I would imagine you would have heard by now, I'd chase up that appointment.

Hi Jem, at my booking in app I got the form for my maternity exemption form. I had to fill it out and send it off then they send you credit card style card. I didnt get a bounty pack either and each time ive asked they havent had any! You should have a 16 week app. mine was written on the back of my orange maternity notes. might be worth giving them a call.
Hi Rosy Lee- sounds like you've had a great couple of days! That pram is a bargain! Ive been looking at the Quinny. my friend has it and raves about it. I got to push it with her 5 month old in and it was really smooth to push! Ticks all the boxes! Im not eBay savvy at all!
My MW app was a little manic! As my midwife was ill I was sent to another one at a local hospital, turns out she was really busy so I saw another one (almost 30mins late!) and an italian midwife who was over hear learning how the UK midwives do things! At first she said i was 28+4!!!! Sure I don't look that big! the Midwife seemed a bit flustered and there were notes everywhere! Id forgotten to take my wee sample too so I had to do one there. Luckily I managed it! She gave me the pot back to reuse after to save on recycling waste which is all good but she left my wee in it!!!! thought she could have at least poured it down the sink!
She went through my blood results from my 8 week appt. I lay on the table and the italian lady poked my belly and they took my blood pressure. Thought she'd weigh me but didnt!
I made sure I asked all my questions!
For hayfever she said a nasal spray was the way forward and to see my GP!
The numbness I had a few weeks ago she said is a mystery. If is was just in my hand she would have said it was carple tunnle syndrome but that wouldn't effect my face. She said that during pregnancy Im extra sensitive so I may have developed an allergy to something. Just keep an eye on it!
The ache I had on the top on my bump, she said my muscles are all relaxed so its likley i strained one during my sneezing fits and adviced holding on to my bump when i feel a sneeze or cough coming on!
Hair dye is fine!
Nw im counting down to scan at the end of this month!!

Mrsbass sounds very stressful!
I rang the community midwife. She said the consultants can take ages to send an appointment if it's not for anything serious. I should have had my exemption form and bounty pack at my booking appointment. And I should have been told how to go about making future appointments and when to make them for. So I now have a 16 week appointment made for the 19th July and she said I should be able to get everything caught up then. I thought my booking appointment was short (I was only there for 40 minutes!)
