Hi Koobie - Lovely Blob! How many weeks is your blob?
Not much happening here. Waiting for friday and a doctors appointment - hoping i can convince them i need an early scan too
24/04/2013 at 08:07
Morning all! I think I ought to move over to 2nd tri - not that I am often here as I started a new job 10 days ago so am snatching minimal internet time! Good luck with all your pregnancies though, and I look forward to catching up with you all on 2nd tri!

Koobie - lovely little blob
HF - fingers crossed they let you have that early scan, i know it will really help to put your mind at rest.
Mrs 50s - sad to see you leaving us on 1st tri, hope to see you on 2nd tri very soon
AFM - I felt sooo much better yesterday, wasn't feeling sick and had a lot more energy so i managed to get alot of work done to the house and in the garden. Im hoping that it will stay like that now

Morning all. Mrs50s sad to see you go but won't be long til I'm over to second tri so I'll see you then.
Koobie great picture.
HF I hope you get an early scan it'll at least put your mind at rest for a bit.
MS hi. Any nice plans for today? Blimey these few days seem to be dragging don't you think? Hurry up Friday!
AFM Isla and I have the dentist today. Fun times! Hoping to pop to the park afterwards if this mist clears. Hi to all the follow x

Morning ladies, I've not been on for a week so probably missed loads! Already seen a bfp from Penny, congratulations that's fantastic news!
Koobie - lovely pic, when I had my scan at 6 weeks the bubba was 2mm and it really made me wish I could have a weekly scan to see it all happening!
HF - FX for the early scan, I really hope you get it to put your mind at rest.
Mrs50s - That's gone fast! See you there in a few weeks :-)
How's everyone coping with MS? Despite being prescribed some tablets for HG I'm still not doing great. Felt better last week so went back to work, found it very tiring and then spent the weekend throwing up and feeling awful. Have hardly been out of bed since Sunday. Dr has advised me to stay home for a few weeks until hopefully the worst of it has passed. Feeling a bit 'woe is me' right now!
24/04/2013 at 08:41
Lovely blob koobie! I have my early scan next week, when I will be 8 weeks. Very.nervous about it, especially as generally I feel ok most days. A bit nauseous before eating in the morning and tired but thats it.
24/04/2013 at 10:32
Lovely blob Koobie!
I had a bit a nausea last week but that has stopped for now. still have sore boobs and the occasional twinge but they have dies down a lot. absolutely knackered thought, even though Im going to bed around 9:30!
Mrs50s, if your still around, how far along were you when you got your new job? Did you tell them your were pregnant before you started, if so at what point? Im on the job hunt at the moment as my contract ends at the end of June and working this out is making my head hurt!
24/04/2013 at 10:37
Koobie - love the scan picture, how mnay weeks are you?
Hi HF, hope you're ok. Hopefully the doc will let you have that eary scan.
Mrs 50's - no you can't leave, I've only just got here! *holds on tight*
MS - glad you're feeling better
Mrs B - hope all goes ok at the dentist. Rather you than me.... ;-)
BE - hope you feel better soon x
Mermaid - oooh exciting, although you're nervous I bet you can't wait to have your scan?
AFM - I saw the doctor yesterday to tell her that I'm pregnant and she said that because of my long cycles I need a dating scan. She's given me a form to fax to the hosiptal to get it booked in but I don't have a fax machine, and the one at work is broken, so I'll need to spend my lunch break racing round town looking for a shop with a fax machine. Fun! I'm not really getting too many symptoms yet - my nips are a bit sore and I keep having AF-like cramps (which from what I've read, are just the uterus expanding, right??) and I felt a tiny bit nauseous yesterday. The main thing is that I can't stop peeing! It still doesn't feel real - but I'm so excited. :-)

Mrs Bass - cross posted.
I'm in the same boat as you - has a 2nd interview yesterday for a job that I really want and think I stand an excellent chance of getting. if they offer it I will take it and work out the logistics later!
24/04/2013 at 10:48
Penny- I had mild period type cramps from about 4-7 weeks as I was convinced that I wasn't pregnant and it was just AF making an appearance. After a week of cramps with nothing I realised that might not be the case.. Had a scan at 7 weeks and everything was fine :) Let us know when you get yours booked for, it's lovely to see!
HF- Good luck getting your early scan. I think if you tell them your concenrns they should book you in FX.
Koobie- Lovely blob! Will be lovely on the next scan when you can actually see a baby.
Mrs B- Hope the dentist goes okay.
AFM- Not a lot to report. 6 days to scan and counting. Have been discussing names with H, spoke to him about trying cloth nappies which he is happy with and generally just getting excited. Super nervous about scan but H keeps putting my mind at ease. When I told him that I think the belly might be chocolate instead of baby he reassured me by stating 'You've always ate loads of chocolate though so the extra belly MUST be down to baby!' haha.

Hi All, Not got much time for personals today. Actually need to do some work! Booooooo!
24/04/2013 at 11:17
Good Luck Penny! Im due to hear today if Ive got trhough to the 2nd stage of interviews for a job that i really want! I think I'll do the same as you, just wait and see and work out the logistics later!
Oh and I had really bad cramps at first too, I even delayed taking a test as I thought it was AF on the way! It is ligaments stretching getting ready for the extra space that is going to be needed!!
24/04/2013 at 11:46
Thanks samjh87 and Mrs Bass, I feel a bit better to hear that you also had cramps and that it's all normal. I'm still on 'knicker watch' cos I feel like AF is going to show and like someone's going to tell me it's all been a mistake. I know I'm being silly, though.
samjh87 - oooh how exciting, discussing names. Have you agreed on anything yet?
Hello LP, hope work's not too busy.
Mrs Bass - FX for some positive interview news, let us know if you get through! I've did some research yesterday into being pregnant and starting a new job, and although it's not necessarily ideal, it's perfectly legal and it must happen quite a bit, so if we do get these jobs, we should be ok. It's only the SMP situation that might be an issue but it depends how much money you can afford to live without I suppose. I would only lose the 6 weeks SMP at full pay as I don't have an enhanced materinty package at my current job, and would still qualify for the minimum government amount during this time anyway, so it's not the end of the world in my eyes. How many weeks are you now?
24/04/2013 at 12:07
Penny- We had been trying for quite a while so I was convinced AF was coming. It took 2 weeks of cramps and me telling H 'it will be here any day now' that H convinced me to do a test. They seemed to settle down after the 7-8 week mark. I still feel someone is going to tell me I have made a mistake and didn't see 2 lines even though I've had an early scan! I think it's completely natural and until we're a bit further along fear the worst. We had been speaking about names for ages before BFP so isn't a new topic of conversation but everything seems a bit more real now! I love Erin for a girl but H isn't keen. H likes Cooper for a boy and Zara for a girl. It's such a big deal and I'm super indecisive haha
24/04/2013 at 12:08
im just wondering if i get offered a job, do I say "yes, i will accept but BTW..." I know legally they cant take back the offer, or wait until i start and drop the bomb shell!
If I dont get another job before my contract runs out, im going on to the temp until where i work until its time to stop work, but i wont get maternity pay so ideally i want to get a perm role ASAP!
I 'think' that i am 6 weeks today so still early!
24/04/2013 at 12:18
I was convinced that AF was coming too, I thought that I would have a much longer wait for my BFP than the 5 months it took. I'm so pleased to hear I'm not a total nutjob for feeling like this. How early was your early scan? I love the name Zara, and the other two on your list are nice too. It is a huge decision!
I've just discovered that my local library may have a fax machine so I'm going to head over there in a bit to see if I can get this form over to the hospital.
24/04/2013 at 12:22
Mrs Bass - I think I would accept the offer, start working my notice, and then tell them after my 12 week scan. The way I see it, you wouldn't tell your current work before then anyway. I'd just claim that I didn't know that I was pregnant before I accepted the offer. Would you qualify for government maternity allownace - have you worked enough weeks on your current contact to meet the requirements?
24/04/2013 at 12:25
Hello everyone! I'm just sticking my head in to say hello! I got my BFP on monday, it was a total shock as I didn't expect to get it so quickly after my mmc in feb. we are absolutely over the moon and so excited, but also blinking terrified!
I'm hoping to get an early scan at about 7.5 weeks to try and put my mind at rest, I am going to ask my GP on Monday, if she won't do it I'm going to call the EPU and if they won't do it I'll have to pay for one.
Who's had a private scan? Where did you go and what did you pay?
24/04/2013 at 12:28
Mrs Bass- I agree with Penny. I would tell them after 12 weeks scan and just play dumb that I knew when applying! They might be a bit peeved at the beginning but like you say legally they can't do anything and I think they should be aware that you were in a difficult circumstance and did your best by all parties at the time.
Penny- I had a scan at 7 weeks as I started getting a sharp pain in my left side round about where my hip is. Turned out to be nothing and I got to see my 'blob' on screen too :)
