How's everyone today? I'm feeling ok so far but I was fine yesterday morning and then the day went down hill fast! Only 2 weeks tomorrow until my scan, eeeek! I'm starting to panic and get stressy about it already.
29/05/2013 at 07:56
Morning Imp, my scan is 2weeks today. eeeek! The committee meeting didnt drag on too long last night and i was home for 10pm, so that was good, i slept in till half 7 this morning (as did LO) so feeling lot more refreshed. Have to pop to see midwife at 11 for her to do bloods as i wasnt far enough along at my booking in appointment for her to do them then. Must remember to ask her about goats farms - as my sister lives on one that her boyfriend manages!
HF - 10 weeks today!!

Morning ladies, Imp glad your feeling better, you maybe just needed a wee afternoon off.
HF I remember you saying about the goat farm, still no advice! I would have thought it was ok though?
Can't believe you only have 2 weeks until your scan, mine is 4 weeks today, but we do have our private scan a week on say :)
I'm feeling a bit nauseous again this morning, just got on the train which is not fun! I try to fall asleep so I don't notice it! Not much else from me, just tired. Oh, I meant to ask, will this be me for the next 7 months that I'm unable to make it through a whole night without waking to pee?!?x
29/05/2013 at 08:15
Glad the meeting didn't drag on HF. It sounds as though you needed a good rest. Defo ask about the goats, you're meant to avoid certain animals aren't you? I'm thinking lambs but I don't know why?
Missdeedee, I hope you manage to fall asleep so you don't feel too bad in the train. I find I'm managing to sleep through the night unless H wakes me up or there is a noise, but then once I'm awake I need to pee.
I'm already feeling more sick, I've got a busy day today so no chance for sciving so I'll have to just man up!
29/05/2013 at 09:10
I'm 12 weeks today! Scan is on Monday. I'm currently in Spain. Heading to the beach in a little while! (It's a hard life!) my sickness seems to have gone which is lovely! Heading home tomorrow night. :( but I get to see my h who I haven't seen in 2 weeks. I'm very excited about that!
Sorry for the lack of personals... A conbination of rubbish Internet, being on my phone and lack of memory! - hope you're sickness goes soon and your scans will be here soon!!!

Did you lot have to pee in a pot for midwife booking in appointments???
29/05/2013 at 09:55
Custard I am jealous!!!!
HF- Yep, I had to pee in a pot. She said you have to do it pretty much everytime you see them.
29/05/2013 at 10:23
Good Morning! Took me ages to find this thread this morning, my eyes obviously havent woken up this morning!
Imp mine is one week tomorrow! I keep switching between being really excited and absolutly petrified! Kinda wish I had had an early scan now!
HorseFan Im glad you managed to get a good nights sleep! Well deserved! & yes I had to take a pot of pee with me to my booking in app. I left with an empty pot ready for my next appt too!
missdeedee, on average Im waking twice in the night for a week and then i have to go as soon as I wake up too! im pretty sure its been gettign worse the last few days! There isnt even anything big pressing on my bladder yet!
Custard i am so jealous of you!!! Would love to be chilling by a pool in the sunshine right now!
I am feeling a bit sickie this morning, havent for about a week or so so not sure if it is kicking back in or its because im back at work or because I put too much Nutella on my toast this morning!
Im having a bit of a dilema about tomorrow night. My H and his band have a gig about 20/30 mins away. Im going because I really want to and Ive agreed to manage their merchandise stall. 3 months ago I would have got the train over, got drunk as a skunk and danced like a loon. And that is what people will probably be expecting from me! Now I need a good excuse for being sensible and sober! Im think the easiest option is to drive but as I get so tired so early in the evening, im a little worried about the drive back, although it shouldnt be more that 30 mins. I can try and have a lie down when i get home from work too. Other options are to just say Im not drinking during the week, or that i have a job interview on the friday. I tend to feel sick though when im telling bare faced lies and there are going to be a lot of people there I know! Damn conscience!
Any one any any other top tips?!
11 weeks today (I think) and apparently the size of a lime! (which is making me think of margaritas!)
29/05/2013 at 10:29
I would drive mrs bass, it's the perfect excuse. I find it hard to lie to people and I'm neatly certain they never believe me when I do. If you manage to lie down before you go then hopefully you'll be ok.
29/05/2013 at 12:50
Imp, hope your day passes quickly and hope you don't get too stressed about the scan.
HorseFan, hope all goes well at the midwife.
Missdeedee, hope the sickness has passed as the train is not a nice place to be to be sick!
Custard, hope you are getting enough rest and sunshine for all of us and are having a fab time.
Mrs Bass, enjoy the gig, say you are driving and act like its nobody's business. It's awful having to lie, but I'm sure everyone's done it.
Afm, I had an appointment with the fertility consultant today, was very frustrating. He is so vague. I have come away with an appointment for a scan in 2 weeks, but he said to just pop along and see him afterwards with the results. I went to make the scan appointment but I can't get an appointment to see him until 4 weeks later. Maybe silly me, I should have just dropped by to see him, but was 99% certain I would get turned away without an appointment. Ended up in tears (hormones) saying i can't have a scan at 10 weeks but wait until 14 weeks to see if everything is ok. Poor woman explained that they would let me know how it looked at the time. Also have booking appointment with the midwife next Friday. How many non private scans do you have?
29/05/2013 at 13:24
I think you ladies are right, i think I'll save up my caffine allowance for one big cup of coffee tomorrow evening too!
Oh MrsPenguin- those hormones are a pain arent they!
I know you get a 12 week and a 20 week scan, not sure if there are any more, HorseFan has been through this before so she may be able to shed some light on it!
29/05/2013 at 13:40
So midwife appointment this morning. Talk about total disorganization. My midwife on holiday as its half term. So saw stand-in and her student. Lady who organises blood bottles etc, also on holiday. They had to go to midwifes car twice FFS (once to fetch bottles, once to fetch needles). AAARRGGHH. Doesn't give me much hope for Christmas birth!!
Normal nhs scans are 12 weeks and 20weeks.
29/05/2013 at 13:43
Thanks Mrs Bass. I swear this will be the biggest giveaway. People joke I must have a heart of stone so if I get emotional they will know instantly.
You should be allowed to hibernate for 12 weeks.
29/05/2013 at 14:33
Imp - am I right in thinking that today is 9 weeks? Congrats - you're growing an olive :-). Try not to worry about your scan. Everything will be ok - it was at the last one, don't forget, and nothing's changed, so it's all good. xx
HF - sounds like a right nightmare at your midwife appointment. At least it's done now.
missdeedee - falling asleep to escape your neausea sounds like a good plan!
Custard - I am very jealous that you've been in spain - lucky thing. I can't remember, how many weeks are you now?
Mrs Bass - I would drive if I was you. Just say that you need to be up early for a meeting or something on Friday. I'm like you though - normally drinking and getting involved with everything, I'm sure all my friends must have clocked on by now!
Mrs Penguin - sorry that you didn't have the best time with the fertility consulltant. I hope they change their minds about giving you a scan sooner.
AFM - one of the worst work days ever. I just keep thinking to myself, 13 more days and I'm outta here. It's the only thing keeping me sane! Pregnancy wise, this is a bit TMI but I scared myself earlier. I had this terrible pain in my abdomen, so severe I had to bite my finger to distract myself from the pain..... eventually worked out that it was constipation (which I 'm suffering with quite badly, as I have IBS in general) causing it. I was seriously worried for a while there though! (I'm not going to explain how I worked that out - it really is TMI.....).
29/05/2013 at 15:57
Also i asked about goat farms and she seemed to know nothing. I suggested it was similar to pregnant/birthing sheep (thats about all i can find online!) and she still didnt seem to know anything ..... then she made a sweeping statement that maybe i should just avoid all animals.
Right thats really helpful given that i keep my horse on a dairy farm. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
29/05/2013 at 15:58
Penny ..... branflakes for breakfast from now on?
29/05/2013 at 16:14
Penny I now really want to know how you figured it out!!!!
HF, your me sounds fairly useless. Is there anyone else you can ask? Gp?
29/05/2013 at 16:16
HF I found this online....www.nhs.uk/.../934.aspx
It only relates to sheep and lambs but is say if you stick to the same principal, ie avoid their birthing season?
29/05/2013 at 16:18
Also this... www.nhs.uk/.../2451.aspx
This does mention goats about half way down.
29/05/2013 at 16:29
Thank Imp - my sisters goats have all given birth now so hopefully I can stop worrying then!
