Thanks Ninky! Still shocked, but very happy to be here! Fingers are crossed that your nausea goes away! I was quite unwell with W (felt like the worlds longest and worst hangover), so i'm hoping that it's not the same this time around! Nothing to report here! Just feeling the usual cramping that comes around this time. Did the official test this morning and it came up straight away, so We're now officially pregnant!
Hi to all who follow!
RKB - 4 weeks gone!
27/08/2014 at 10:16
Morning both, sorry I didn't get back to the thread yesterday, S decided he didn't want his usual 2hr afternoon nap *sob*
Ninky sorry you've felt nauseous this morning although I know it's reassuring I hope it doesn't last.
RKB welcome lovely! IIRC we were Dec 2011 brides together on hitched (i didn't post much so I doubt you'll remember me and this probably all sounds stalker-ish now lol) so pretty cool that we are tri buddies too!
AFM S's lack of nap yesterday meant that he slept in til 8 so I feel much better, less tired than yesterday. Lazy day today :) I went into mothercare yesterday to get a present for one of my friend's little boys and had a sneaky play with a bugaboo donkey...lush! Just need to convince H!

That's really cool Popcorn! I was a December bride! I don't know if i remember your from Hitched, but i haven't really been on there since the BT pages were transferred to here, and i have a shocking memory!! Glad you've managed a bit more sleep. I can't thank my son enough for being a good sleeper. he went down to bed late last night (9.15) and we woke with our alarm, but we could hear him in his room chatting away quite happily to himself.

I'm lucky also with the sleeping, but I do just wish she'd give us an extra hour on a weekend! She goes down between 7 and 7.30, depending how much she's napped in the day, but it's pretty consistently 6.45 waking, although I do try and leave her to chat to herself until 7. Haven't set an alarm since she was born!

Ninky - hope the nausea isn't too bad and doesn't turn into sickness, although I know what you mean about being reassured by these little things!
RKB - Congratulations on officially being pregnant! Hope the cramping is bearable, I passed it off as period pains when I was at that stage, little did I know!
Popcorn - Glad you're feeling less tired today, I've felt pretty exhausted for about 7 weeks not so god knows how you cope when you already have little ones! I also love the Bugaboo, H is having none of it though :(
AFM - Not much to report in the way of symptoms, I had a banging headache all day yesterday, I'm normally a wuss and reach straight for the painkillers but I managed to hold off and have woken up feeling better today. I have my booking in appt this afternoon, bit nervous about what to expect, especially having blood taken!
27/08/2014 at 10:52
Glad you're feeling better Woowoo. I know the booking in is different in different areas, but at mine last time the MW just asked standard questions about my health, family history and random things like whether I was related to the father by blood!

I can't do personals as my screen displays it funny but hello everyone. There seems to be a mix of sleeps and non-sleepers. I'm hoping for a sleeper but given my history I don't hold out much hope. I haven't slept through the night since I was born I am up and down all the time so I expect I may pass that on.
RKB hello and welcome to 1st tri I hope lots of other TTCers join us soon.
AFM - I've had a bit of cramping but very mild so I imagine its just all stretching etc. My SIL thinks I'm starting to show which seems early but I think it's just fat as I eat every couple of hours to hold off the nausea. Confirmed by the fact my jeans are becoming too tight!
Woowoo - I think we are date twins how exciting. Although I'm 10+5 by dates but at my early scan they moved me forwards by 2 days so I may be 11 weeks who knows. I'm waiting for the 12 week scan to have a more confirmed date so I've been sticking with my LMP date as it's easier to work out.

I feel like I've done S a disservice with my post, bless him! He's an amazing sleeper really, just had an off day yesterday. I really hope I get another one like him, it will make life so much easier!
Woowoo hope your appointment goes ok :)
Rosco I hated that I between bit where your regular clothes are uncomfortable but you haven't got enough bump to hold up maternity trousers. I had a pair of hareem pants that were ideal for work and at home when I was pregnant with S, lifesaver!

Rosco, at my early scan I was dated 3 days ahead so would have been 11+1 now but was moved back at my scan on Friday. Got the nuchal scan on 16th Sept so I'm fully expecting to change again then! Oh and I had to give in yesterday and go up a size in jeans, I was no longer able to sit comfortably in them, but like you pretty sure it's fat just now as I'm eating so much!
Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I last posted, things are going full throttle in the house and I'm either to be found with a paintbrush in hand, getting shouted at by mil for doing something she thinks I shouldn't be doing or in bed! Good news is carpets should be down by Sat, furniture delivered next week and should be moved in by the following weekend!!
So good to have some more recruits to the 1st Tri, promise I will do better to post more. Scan date came through last week, counting down til 16th Sept.
Waves hello to Ninky, Popcorn and RKB, hope you get through the early weeks as unscathed as possible! The 6th week is where everything kicked off for me, wouldn't wish that on anyone!
Woowoo - booking in appointment was easy if not a bit boring! Lots and lots of questions. In my area they send you off for the blood tests and you go at your leisure but told me they want the results back before 12w scan. H dragged me there straight away cos I was so scared and said it was better to just get it over and done with, and it wasn't as bad as I had it in my head. The nurse was really nice when I told her I'd never had one before and just just talked to me the whole time and I barely felt anything and also didn't look! Only downside is the bruise is only just going now after 2 weeks!
Rosco - read your post yesterday about your bank holiday weekend and it sounded lovely! I used to work with horses and used to run a show jumping yard, it was very fun but hard work but I do miss it every now and again.

Woowoo - we have our scan on the same day!!
27/08/2014 at 13:06
Woowoo - sorry you've been having sore heads. I can relate as i've been getting them too. I thought you were dated at your 12 week scan and that was it? Has this changed?
Tonka - It was the 6th week for me the last time too! Currently enjoying a headache, backache, short waves of nausea (think this is linked to hunger) and feeling like i could fall asleep standing up!
My friend in work has sussed me out, i kid you not, based on the fact i've switched to Decaff coffee and kept yawning. She waited until we were on our own and asked. I was like "HOW DO YOU KNOW! Spooky B!tch!"
I'm going to go see the Doctor tomorrow and get a referral to the MW...Or if i can, i'll just phone the midwife myself. I can't remember how the early stages of pregnancy go. and how much different it's going to be 2nd time around.
27/08/2014 at 13:21
RKB - I was dated on Friday, although it was at 10 weeks not 12 weeks, I have to have my nuchal scan on 16th Sept as it was too early to do it on Friday. I'm assuming, only based on having my dates changed twice already that it's likely to change again. Although having said that, as it's my first pregnancy, I don't even know if they do the measuring thing again or just accept the date given last week? I'm pretty clueless and sure baby will turn up when it's ready!
I planned to tell the people in my office today, but weirdly I don't know how to bring it up!
27/08/2014 at 13:51
First time round I had an early scan (private) which dated me exactly to my dates from LMP. At my 12 week scan at the hospital, they moved me forward 4 days, based on size. We don't have nuchal scans, so that was the only one. They didn't re-date on the 20 week scan.
27/08/2014 at 14:12
that's how we were too Ninky. We had our 20 week check up, but the date stayed the same. Didn't matter anyway. W arrived 13 days past the hospitals dates (9 past my dates) I take the due date with a pinch of salt. It's a guideline and that's it! :-)
27/08/2014 at 15:11
I agree. My best friend worked out her own due date from her LMP (as we all do) but was moved forward over a week at her dating scan. Baby ended up coming two weeks late, so her original dates were far more accurate than the hospital's.
