Morning all - happy hump day!!!!!
Hope everyone is ok and had a good sleep last night, especially those that were badly needing it.
Ducky - not sure if I've said or not but welcome to 2nd Tri, lovely to see you and the sprouts here xxx
AFM - work is busy this week but so far its made for a quick one. I finished my pilates class last night. I was working it out and it was over 6 years that I'd been teaching it which is a really long time. I got some gorgeous flowers and a lovely candle and holder which I wasn't expecting but it was really nice of them.
Got my 22 week appointment with the midwife tonight. Can't believe it!!!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day xxxx

Must've cross posted with you there CA, so I've deleted mine :-) Glad your class gave you a lovely send off, must be tough being as you've been with them so long, but it'l be nice to not have such long busy days too. Hope your appointment goes well tonight.
Ducky - welcome to you and the sprouts, lovely to see you here!
AFM - Sorry I didn't get on yesterday...was a busy one but thankfully O seems more human again now and on a positive we're ALL SLEEPING AGAIN :-) I feel like a new woman!
Not a lot to report babywise but have our 16wk appointment this pm....v excited to hear the heartbeat again!
Have a fab day all! X

CA enjoy your appt and getting your matb1 form! How exciting to be here. I hope work flies by if it's a busy one again. How lovely that your class got you some lovely gifts, it sounds as though they're going to miss you lots.
Coco I'm glad O seems better and in turn you feel better from more sleep. What a relief. Enjoy your 16 week appt, hopefully you'll get to hear the hb!
AFM well nothing too exciting to report. Work is busy at the moment and I'm totally not in the zone with it, in my head I'm already on countdown. I'm off work on Monday so at least next week is a 4 day week.
Happy feet was a bit more active yesterday, still a little bit quiet but they were wriggling away at points of the day. I think maybe my body has grown and they've moved to a different place or position so I'm feeling them a little less. I hope so anyway.

CA - that was really lovely of your class - its nice to feel appreciated! Enjoy midwife app!
Coco - Glad O is in better form - good luck this afternoon!!
Imp - Nice to have a 4 day week to look forward to! Do you see yourself getting bigger recently? Ive heard that a tin of diet coke can make the baby move, maybe try that if you are feeling anxious? Im sure everything is fine but our minds are overactive things!
AFM - had a decent nights sleep thankfully and not feeling too bad. Have to pack tonight for Newcastle and slap on some fake tan so I dont look so ill! Have a mountain of work to get through but I will try to pop on again at lunch - if not I will back on Monday.
Hi to everyone who follows, hope you all have a great hump day and wkend!
05/03/2014 at 08:29
CA - Awww that's so nice of your class! Bless! Is it mostly the same people you've been teaching for 6 years? Hope the appt goes well tonight.
Coco - WOO and indeed HOO for the sleep! I'm jealous! Hope your appt goes well too and you get to hear that HB
Imp - Yay for a 4-day week! Hope Happy Feet keeps wriggling away to let you know they're in there.
SaSaSi - glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. Excited for you, have a great time away!!
AFM not a huge amount to report. A seems a lot better and brighter today - woke up in a good mood (after mithering us half the night) and ate a good breakfast. So hopefully nursery will happily take him and he'll be fine - I have work this afternoon. What with screaming baby we forgot to do pancakes yesterday so we'll have some tonight!
05/03/2014 at 08:52
Sas I think I'm a bit bigger, so I think it could be that they're in a different place. I hope work isn't too manic for you, at least it'll fly by if it is.
Saisi I'm glad A is a bit better today.
05/03/2014 at 09:16
Imp - I found my movements with O altered slightly when my bump popped out more, also if I was busy at work as you're so focussed on what you're doing you don't notice the movements so much. Yay for a 4 day week next week!
SaSaSi - Glad you managed a good sleep. Hope today isn't too crazy and if you don't get back, have a lovely time in Newcastle!
Saisi - Glad A is in better spirits today too, our monkeys have certainly been testing us! Hope nursery will happily take him today and that work goes wel.
Well, I'm having a proper mumsy moment...felt the need to bake, so while O was having his breakfast I threw together a Granny's fruit cake, and it's currently baking away :-)
05/03/2014 at 09:20
Candy Apple - Thats a lovely thing for your class to do, I am sure you will be missed. good luck with the midwife
Coco - sleep is wonderful isn't it-glad O is feeling better! good luck with your appointment too
imp - All sounds good for you, I remember with M movemnets did slow down but then towards the end you get lots of big movements which are really funny cause you can literally see them having a move around to get comfy!!
SaSaSi - don't work to hard and hope you have a nice time in Newcastle
Saisi - Glad A is feeling a bit better
AFM - half day at work today as I have Molly's friend coming from playschool for tea which she is super excited about. Diabetic Midwife tomorrow morning at the hospital, hoping they test me for GD and don't just assume that I have it, a lot has changed since my first pregnancy. I wont feel so bad if they just let me self monitor but if they don't and want me to take medication I am going to demand to be tested. I do trust their judgement if they have the facts, not without.
05/03/2014 at 09:33
Nina - Bless M having her friend round...I know when I was at primary school this always used to make my day :-) Hope your appointment goes well and that the test rather than make assumptions
05/03/2014 at 10:08
Coco check out you baking at this time in the morning!
NB I hope the MW is sensible and gets you tested, no point in taking medication if you don't need it.

I rarely get a chance to get on the tri threads at the moment as work is so manic lately but as two people aren’t in and once again their workload has been put onto me I’m granting myself a 10 minute mumdrum break. I read the thread every day I just never get a chance to post which is a shame…
CA – That’s really sweet of your class.
Coco – I loved hearing the heartbeat. We don’t have a Doppler so I only get to hear it when the midwife cracks it out and I love it. And Yay for sleep. I had a 6 year old flailing her arms around and hitting me in my bed last night as she felt poorly so I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck today. Oh and her cat insisted on sleeping in between us under the duvet so when it wasn’t an arm it was a paw.
Imp – Glad shes getting back to her active self - I had a scare at 24 weeks when I had 24 hours with no movement. I think its just a naughty phase they go through to scare us unfortunately. I have an anterior placenta as well so that started hiding a lot when she moved. Luckily her kicks are so strong now the placenta doesn’t cushion everything and I can still feel wallops regardless of where she is. She especially likes to kick the cat that for some reason loves to sleep on my bump at all times.
SaSaSi – glad to hear you’ve had a good nights sleep. I couldn’t imagine travelling at 15 weeks. I think I was still battling some bad morning sickness at that point.
Saisi – My step daughter didn’t let us forget pancake day – her school were quite sweet and cooked some for all the kids but put lemon on them, she’ll only eat Nutella panckaes so wouldn’t touch them. Enjoy your pancakes tonight
Ninabeanie – tea sounds sweet. Hope your MW is nice and gets you tested before giving out any medicine.
AFM – 27 weeks today – I was hoping Wispa would have posted by now as I don’t have a signature and rely on hers to tell me what veg size we are lol. I booked a 4D bonding scan for Monday. Me and H will drop little one off at school and then go have the scan and go out for lunch which will be nice. I don’t like the no scan business from 20 weeks. Also M basically has H’s face, exactly, so I want to see if this one will look exactly like him as well or if some of my genes carry through! Also have my GTT next Thursday which will be fun. Other than that this week I planned my maternity leave. Last working day is may 2nd, using 20 days Annual Leave and then starting my SMP as of my due date (4th June). I’m excited to be done with work. I’m 24/7 exhausted and have headaches all the time now. Works no fun at the moment as theres tonnes of deadlines and I seem to be the only one working – theres only 2 other colleagues and one has reduced her working hours and the other has had 8 days holiday and 2 days sick in the last month so I’m the only one here doing everyone’s work. Miserable.

Can't believe I'm here :O
CA - How lovely of your class to give you a few presents. Hope you realize how much they like you! Hope midwife appointment goes well tonight :)
Coco - Pleased to hear you are finally getting some sleep - good luck at the 16 week appointment tonight
Imp - Sorry happy feet is worrying you with their movement, you are probably right they are just at a different angle. Hopefully they wiggle themselves into a different position again soon
SaSaSi - Glad to hear you've had a good night too - enjoy Newcastle!
Saisi - Hope your day goes well and enjoy those pancakes this evening :)
Ninabeanie - Enjoy your half day and I hope the playdate goes well. Good luck for the meeting tomorrow
wishfulwhispers - 4D scan sounds exciting, try and focus on that and not the work situation (easier said than done I know!)
AFM - Well hello ladies... I'm 13+3 and can't decide if it's today or tomorrow I post here so apologies if you've got me a day early! I am a bit dazed that I'm even anywhere near 2nd tri. I am feeling a million percent better than I was a month ago. Sickness has basically disappeared and I've really cut down on my meds to 1 (or sometimes none!) each day. We bought a pushchair on Monday evening but I've had to fold it up this morning and put it into the nursery because the urge to keep playing with it was too great (no willpower!!).
05/03/2014 at 11:43
Morning! I have proper internet again, so bring on the personals :D
CA, over 6 years! It must have been tough to leave it, but how sweet that they gave you a nice send off
Coco, that's a relief about O! Exciting having the 16wk appt, enjoy the heart beat! You're also making me wish I had butter in the house. The only thing preventing me from following in your lead and baking something scrummy.
Imp, I'm glad happy feet is moving around, it could be that you're only getting subtler movements as well, which you're just missing. Hopefully they start dancing around a bit more soon.
Sas, enjoy Newcastle, I hope you do start feeling better soon!
Saisi, you forgot to do pancakes?? I'm glad A is doing better and I hope you enjoy your belated pancake day
NB, would they really just assume you have GD without testing?! Seems outrageous to me! I hope your half day goes by quickly and you have a lovely afternoon off.
WW! It's been a while Sorry I didn't get on earlier, I'm not sure what we are as of today, will check my signature once posted. Let us know how the scan goes, I'm on the fence about having more scans. I got an extra one at 23 weeks, so I don't really have the itch... yet. Sounds like work has been stressful, but lovely to have planned the mat leave. Are you in countdown mode now? That's less than 2 months away!!
PS, welcome to 2nd tri!! I can't believe you've got a pram to play with already, I'm still waiting to order ours until later this month. Then I will play with it to my little heart's content. Under the guise of getting Wispa used to walking near it, of course!
AFM, I had an asthma scare last night. Nearly went in to hospital, but managed to relax a bit, had a couple nespressos (caffeine helps, and I figured one day of higher caffeine intake wouldn't hurt much), and after about an hour it eased off, though not having the inhaler work after 10 puffs in 10 minutes was frightening, especially as H wasn't home from work yet, so I was alone. Saw the asthma nurse at the GP this morning and she's given me a higher dose combined steroid and told me to use it or my lower dose one at my own discretion through pregnancy. I'm quite happy to self monitor, and now I'll have the two doses it'll be easier to step up or down as needed. Aaand today the plumber came to finish the dishwasher install, so we have a dishwasher, yay! And the nursery curtains have apparently arrived in store at Next, so I'll go pick those up later.
hi to anyone who follows! Hopefully I've not missed anyone on this epically long long.
05/03/2014 at 11:44
Hey, WW, our babies are the size of swedes, apparently!
05/03/2014 at 11:46
Apparently in my health district it is normal practice to assume if you had GD with your first pregnancy, you will have it with your second
05/03/2014 at 11:53
Wispa - We've only got it so early as it was the last one in a line of discontinued stock at our nearest kiddicare. H was adamant he wanted that exact one so as it was heavily discounted we decided to just go for it! Our dog was scared of it when we brought it home but I sat him in it and gave him a little push around and he was much happier and doesn't mind it now he realizes that it's not scary.
Hope your asthma behaves itself now as that must of been terrifying for you :(
Also... at 27 weeks does that mean you are 3rd tri now :O ? (basing each tri on being 13+3 long!)
05/03/2014 at 12:14
Ahh, I saw the photo of the doggie in the pram, I had completely forgotten. I think Wispa is a bit too big for that, but I'm planning to walk her around the back garden on the lead while pushing it for a bit every few days once we get it. I definitely think she will be scared of it at first, and the last thing I need is to have her trying to run away from the pram if there's a baby in it!
I'm planning to cling on to 2nd tri until next week. Some places say 3rd tri starts at 28 weeks, so that's what I'm going with!
05/03/2014 at 12:18
NB that sucks donkeys ass, so have you got to medicate?
PS welcome to 2nd tri love, yay for the pram and Sid.
WW good to see you. Great news that your mat leave is planned and you've only got 2 months left.
Wispa yay for the dishwasher! Not so yay about the asthma but good that they've upped your prescription and you have a bit more control over it.
I have just made the mistake of counting up how many working days I have left and I am now as giddy as a goat! 54 days, that's it!
05/03/2014 at 12:19
Imp - I know right? considering I have lost 8stone in that time which has ended up kick starting my fertility and meaning I am pregnant, I am living proof of what our bodies can do. If they test me and I need to medicate then fine, but if they do not test I will be creating.
05/03/2014 at 12:23
I would too, think it's crazy to expect you to medicate when you and baby might be perfectly fine without it.
Well done on that weight loss btw, what an awesome achievement!
