i had a scare last night, got home from work and wiped there was brought red blood. Rang h to come home and the hospital who advised me to come in. By the time we got there the blood was brown and had then disappeared when I saw the doctor. They checked me over, examined my cervix and heard baby's heart best and sent me home. Feeling very scared and shaken today, this is the first lot if bleeding I've had in 17 weeks and hope it's the last. Was just starting to enjoy pregnancy too :(
sorry to start in a grim note hope you are all ok x

I'm pleased that when you got to the hospital the bleeding has stopped. For some women bleeding throughout pregnancy becomes normal. Although it's not easy, try not to worry about it and rest up today if you can. xxx
Afm - I had a hectic day yesterday, a 10 shift on 4 hours sleep. To say the least I was shattered last night. After a long afternoon nap and sleep last night I feel refreshed now :) H also felt squidge last night for the first time. It was only faint, but still amazing to share it with him!
Good luck to bunny today with your scan!
Hi to all that follow xxxx

Hi boo I went into work but only lasted 45 mind and boss has sent me home, I'm an emotional wreck today and can't stop crying. I've got very slight brown discharge which I'm guessing is old blood from yesterday. Just so so scared now.
Amazing that your H felt the baby. Bet he was chuffed xx
28/05/2014 at 09:48
Mrs l at least it wasn't for long and is now brown blood. Must've been very scary. Make sure you take it easy today.
Boo that sounds like a very tiring day! Glad you caught up on sleep and h felt baby, that's great! Every time h pits his hand on my tummy baby stops kicking! Thanks for the good luck wishes.
Scan today got to wait until lunchtime, so going between being really excited at seeing baby to being petrified! Going to try and keep busy for the next couple of hours.

Mrs L please try not to worry and rest as much as you can.
Boo- that is so exciting H felt baby! Eeeeekkkkk :)
Bunny- hope your scan goes well.
AFM- we had our scan yesterday which was amazing to see everything in such detail. All of the organs and limbs look just fine and we even saw the bladder full, then empty and baby have a drink! We also managed to resist finding out the flavour! However the baby is measuring between 19 weeks 1 day and 19 weeks 6 days (which is less than it should be) so as a result the sonographer couldn't see the heart in enough detail- we saw all 4 chambers of the heart beating but she couldn't see the vessels in and out in enough detail as she wanted so we have to have a rescan in 2 weeks. I was really worried about this but she and my midwife (who I called in a total state after) said there is no need to worry. I'm just a little confused as to why the dates are different and concerned/anxious that everything is ok. Here's hoping!

MrsL: Any bleeding would be scary, just try to rest & remember the dr found the heartbeat. I hate to say it but I found that last time I had no symptoms of pregnancy until close to 3rd tri & was paranoid all the way through that something was wrong & this time I've felt far worse & I still worry. It's completely natural. Not long till your scan. Take care & rest lots today (& don't google! x x
Boo: Glad you're rested now. Wow, that seems early for your h to be able to feel your baby you're so lucky, how exciting. Looking at your ticker it must be nearly your scan day too
Bunny: Hope your scan goes well, it's such a mixture of emotions isn't it! x
AFM: Fairly confident that I'm feeling flutters daily now which is lovely
28/05/2014 at 10:21
Bunny good luck today with the scan, let us know how you get on x
Peachy - scan sounds amazing, the next 2 weeks will fly I've heard of people having to go back a few weeks later so I'm sure it's nothing to workers about.
Blackkat - thank you, I'm resting up now trying not to worry. Lovely that you're feeling flutters.

*creeps back in*
Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been around much of late...just been really busy and tired! I must get better at this.
Mrs L - sorry to hear about the bleed, lots of rest today and fx it was just a one off.
Boo - that's lovely that H felt it. Hope you take it easy today.
Bunny - best of luck and hope all goes well. Looking forward to finding out the flavour :)
Peachy - fx all is OK, these babies are sent to try us, eh?
BK - lovely feeling flutters isn't, although it still takes me by surprise.
AFM - work is finally sorted out, I am being transferred to a new company due to TUPE which is a shame but I don't have long until I can go on mat leave so I am just going to get on with it. Feeling baby loads which is nice. Am off on holiday next week, part of it will be with the in laws which I am not overly excited about but never mind. Me and H will have four days to ourselves in Ibiza which is nice at least!

Mrs L - sorry to hear about the bleeding but glad all was well at the hospital and its now brown. Lots of rest today x
Boo - its amazing when H gets to feel them move isn't it? Its quite early too as my H didn't feel anything until about 23 weeks IIRC.
Bunny - good luck for your scan. Let us know how it goes x
Peachy - glad everything else went ok on the scan. Sometimes babies just measure smaller than average but glad they are scanning you again and taking care of you and baby.
Blackkat - lovely that you are feeling flutters!
AFM - my hips are killing me today so trying not to put weight on them unless necessary. Think I must have slept funny or my dream genii came out from between my legs or something. Going to fill in my form for maternity allowance today I think and get it sent off so its all done. We go on holiday on Friday and if cannot wait! Looking forward to some sun and relaxation with my H!
We started stripping wallpaper on the nursery last night. I've seen some wall stickers I like but they are in America so I'm hoping the seller will post them to the UK. Its starting to feel more real now! X
28/05/2014 at 10:46
Missed you there Gavi! Hope you have a lovely holiday - is this your last one before baby comes? X
28/05/2014 at 12:08
Browny - oooo holiday for you too. Hope your hips improve. Nice work on the nursery...me and mum are starting ours when I get back from hols, can't wait. Sure is our last holiday before baby. We have one planned 6 weeks after my EDD but that's for my 30th and we are going to a lovely cottage near bath...I am excited about that already!

Hello all, sorry I've been super rubbish at coming on the tri threads. I don't have much of an excuse, just that I want to do it properly and write personals which is a missions from my phone and I rarely use a laptop or PC at home. Lazy Bum!!
Mrs L - Very sorry to hear about your bleed, it must have been very scary. I'm glad it has stopped and all seems ok with baby. Take it easy though x
Boo - Awwww how lovely your H felt bubba! It's a very special moment.
Bunny - lots of luck for your scan, I hope they run to time and you don't have to wait too long x
Peachy - Please don't worry about the measurements they are quite hard to get accurately. For example, the difference between 19+1 and 19+6 is probably about 1-2mm on the thigh bone. It is do easy to miss or add a mm or two on an ultrasound measurment. As long as baby grows that is the main thing. I had my 20 week scan at 20+6 and they couldn't check their hearts either so I went back at 22+6 and all was ok. It isn't because there is any cause for concern, just because they want a clear picture to make the judgement.
BK - Yay for baby flutters! I am still very excited to see if your gender swaying worked. Such a wally for being so intrigued!
Gavi - I know very little about TUPE is but you sound a little dissapointed about it. I hope the new company is nice and better than your expectations. Very jealous of your tripette to Ibiza!
Browny - Another jetsetter! I hope the sunshine and resthelps your hips. In fact I am sure it will x
AFM - Not much news! Bubbas had a scan last week at 24+6 and their growth, amniotic fluid and umbilical blood flow are all good. They weighed about 1lb 10oz and 1lb 11oz which is the 36th and 38th percentile. They are still following their growth line (which looks like 50th on the charts as the lines are so close together!). Bump has definitely has a growth spurt this week!
We also build the nursery furniture and stuck up some stickers. It isn't finished yet but I will flash when it is!

MrsL - I'm sorry to hear about the bleeding. I'm pleased to read that they checked your cervix - this was the one thing I struggled to get someone to do after my scare. If the bleeding continues, even if it's brown blood, make sure you speak to someone.
Boo - how lovely that your H got to feel baby move. Glad you're feeling refreshed after your hectic day yesterday.
Bunny - good luck for your scan, looking forward to an update :-)
Peachy - fingers crossed everything is fine when you have your rescan in a couple of weeks.
BK - yay to feeling some flutters! I had started to feel some but I think baby has moved slightly as they've not been as prominent the last day or two. I do hope it's not something else to worry about! How are your hips feeling today?
Gavi - have a fab time in Ibiza! It's certainly more appealing than the damp, dreary days here at the moment.
Browny - where are you off to on holiday?
Ducky - I can't wait to see some pictures of the nursery!
AFM, I went into town this morning to have a bra fitting. My normal bras were feeling fine until the last day or two and now they're quite uncomfortable and restrictive feeling so I've now got 3 nice new ones to wear. They're not much to look at but at least they're comfortable! I also spotted a nice bag which I thought would be ideal for all my hospital toiletries. My legs are now really achey but I feel I've had a productive morning. This afternoon I'd like to try to sort out a load of F's old clothes for the charity shop but we'll see how I feel!
28/05/2014 at 14:15
Gavi - enjoy Ibiza!
Browny - enjoy your holiday too
Ducky - did you have bleeding throughout your pregnancy or have I got you muddled with someone else? Can't wait to see the nursery!
WG - enjoy your day, I need new bras too!
28/05/2014 at 15:51
Thank you all for your support and reassurance- I feel a lot more relaxed now and seemingly this is quite common to have to be re scanned a couple of weeks later and like you said Ducky nothing to worry about. Baby has been moving a lot this morning so I think they are also trying to reassure me :)
Gavi- have a fab holiday and enjoy some sunshine!
Browny- also have a fab holiday! What is maternity allowance? Hope you managed to rest this afternoon.
Ducky- glad all is well and that the babies are growing as they should :)
WG- glad you had a productive morning, exciting about the toiletries bag!
28/05/2014 at 15:53
Scan. Went well the sonographer was lovely and really spent time explaining exactly what she was looking at and could see. Its definitely put my mind at rest!
Peachy that's great that your scan went well. I wouldn't worry too much about the measurements, as ducky said its tiny differences. Just think of it as getting an extra scan to see baby!
Bk that's great that you are feeling movements!
Gavi glad work is finally sorted. At least now that it is you don't have to worry about it. A holiday sounds lovely!
Browny definitely need a flash once the nursery is done! Well done you on starting it all. Holiday sounds good. Hope your hips ease off as the day goes on.
Ducky sounds like you are getting quite organised with the nursery. That's good news with the scan, excellent weights too!
WG I'm planning on getting new bras tomorrow. There's nothing better than being comfortable! Good luck with sorting out the clothes this afternoon.
28/05/2014 at 15:54
Gavi - mine and H's 30th birthdays are within 2 and 4 weeks of our EDD so we were going to celebrate them later but you've made me question whether we could do something like that! Maybe a cottage in the Yorkshire Dales? Might look into it :)
Ducky - great that the twins are doing so well. Can't wait to see your nursery finished!
WG - we're going to Mojacar in Spain. A friend has lent us her apartment there. Can't wait! Sounds like a productive morning - don't do too much!
28/05/2014 at 17:30
Mrs L - I bled more days than not between 5-8 weeks. Luckily I haven't had anything since though. I've just seen your post about babybond scans and I would go for it if it will help. You can see a lots on the scan including a source of bleeding (if there is one) x
28/05/2014 at 17:31
Also the cervix sometimes bleeds due to all the hormones but baby is absolutely fine and unaffected. Lots of things it could be!
28/05/2014 at 17:42
Thanks Ducky x
