Couldn't see one so thought I would start one.
My hips are really achy at night at the mo, meaning there was not a lot of sleep last night! Will mention it to the midwife next week, but think its just one of those pregnancy things. Meeting a couple of people for lunch today, then doing the food shop. I'm also 30 weeks today which feels like another milestone.

Do you have a birthing ball? I find that really helpful for achey hips, etc. Enjoy your lunch out today.
AFM, I've just got back from town. Managed to get 2 nighties and a dressing gown for my hospital bag. I think I've got nearly everything for it now so might start packing it so I can check and then it's done! Got loads of housework to do but the shopping has worn me out so I'll just do what I can.

I'm glad you started a thread, I felt a bit new to 3rd tri to start a thread!!
Bunny: Hope you manage to catch up on a nap today & that your hip soreness eases off.
WG: You are too organised. I haven't even thought about a hospital bag (although hoping not to need 1 & get my home birth!)
AFM: Went to my 1st lazy daisy class last night & felt so lovely & relaxed & connected to the baby. But then later in the evening I had a bad stomach ache that I put down to wind but (tmi) spent a long time on the loo 1st thing this morning so I don't think it's that. Had my mw appointment with a lovely student who showed me how to feel baby pumpkins head which was lovely, then had my anti D jab which wasn't as nice! She said that if the stomach ache or cramps continue into a longer pattern I need to phone the labour ward. I also googled it & ended up with a lot of people talking about BH. I didn't have any (that I know of) last time so I wonder if that's what the cramps were/are? So having a sofa day today.

BK - sorry to hear you're not feeling great, I've read that both peppermint and chamomile tea can help bad stomachs. Might be worth a shot? Hope it doesn't last much longer though. No idea about BHs - I never had them first time around so I'm clueless! I'm pleased that you enjoyed your lazy daisy class last night. I've really been enjoying aquayoga and it's making me want a water birth even more than last time.

Thanks WG, gonna have a look in our freebie stash to see if I have any (as neither my hubby or i drink tea or coffee we take the freebies that you get in hotels!!) but have texted hubby to get some for me. I hate feeling crap & have only given isobelle icelollies for lunch as we emptied & defrosted the fridge & freezer whilst we were away & I can't face cooking. I really hope she goes down for a nap so I can have a relaxing bath & a nap.
I'm glad your aquayoga is going well. My daisy class was part yoga & part relaxation & really made me believe I could actually have the 'relaxing' home water birth I want. It's weird that my next mw appointment isn't till 34 weeks, that sounds so late, then apparently I get a home visit at 36 weeks to prepare for the home birth.
Sorry, am waffling, need a nap!!!

Grr, wrote long reply then lost it! Will start again...
Bunny, have you tried various pillow combinations to ease aches? Maybe even a pregnancy pillow? I haven't got one, but have heard some people swear by them.
WG, shopping sounds like more than enough for one day. I'd spend the afternoon relaxing. With cake ;-)
BK I have no idea re pains, since I have realised I am utterly clueless about my own! I've only had one episode of BH as far as I am aware, and it wasn't painful. Hope yours go away soon.
AFM, I'm not too bad. Yesterday was horrible. John Lewis delivery men put 4 scratches in our antique oak floor, after me asking them to be careful cos it cost thousands. Not impressed and hubby now dealing with it to arrange compensation since it can't easily be repaired. And one of the new sofas is stained, but since we need a sofa, we have to live with it until they can organise a replacement. Not impressed. To top it all, last night I found a small diamond missing from my engagement ring, so now we need to get that repaired as well at the weekend. Hassle I don't need. And all on 2hrs sleep.
In better news today, slept for 5ish hrs thanks to sleeping tablets, and had a lovely mw appt today. I detest my usual midwife (tbh the feeling is probably mutual) but the other ladies on her team are fantastic. Baby is happy, 3/5 palpable so more engaged than last time when it was only 4/5, and mw and her student seemed interested and happy to answer questions. Makes a nice change! Hope they are on call when things happen!! She's given me the go ahead to use Clary sage in the bath to try to kick start things from the weekend, and I'm also booked for "natural induction" by acupuncture next Friday. The hospital offer it at 40 weeks so I thought why not? Anything that will help stop me going overdue so I can stay at home in my pool is worth a try.
It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow, so won't be on. We're off for a spa break in the Cotswolds and I can't wait... spa, pool, dinner, nice hotel, then on Friday a bit of walking then afternoon tea. Bliss!!
Hope everyone else has a lovely day, I'm off to finish housework then relax xx

BK - do you not get an appointment at 31 weeks? I've got one next week. Hope you manage to get that bath and nap this afternoon.
BF - no cake unfortunately but I have just made an Angel Delight :-) What a nightmare about the wood flooring and sofa. Hope you get it all sorted soon. Also hope you get your ring fixed too. I like the idea of the natural induction, will be interested to hear how it goes (with a BA shortly afterwards I hope!) Happy anniversary for tomorrow, enjoy the spa.

WG I do have a birthing ball, but its deflated at the mo so need to pump it up. I had forgotten I had one. Well done you on getting your bits sorted. That's next on my list once I've sorted out the stuff in the nursery so I can get to the chest of drawers!
Bk the classes sounds lovely, very relaxing! I can't help with the BH as I've never had any. Hope your tummy eases off soon. That's good that you had a lovely student mW. I have an appointment at 31 weeks too and will have one at 34 weeks. Not sure if that is because we are seeing her as often as you would with your first baby?
Bf i have a pillow i sleep with and on a duvet. that's annoying about the floor and sofa. That's really good that you had a lovely mW appointment. Enjoy the spa!
Lunch was nice. I've done the food shop so now I'm going to sit down and watch rubbish TV!

BF: Sounds like you're having a bit of a stressful time of it, what a pain. I hope you get the compensation soon. I didn't know that you could get acupuncture on the NHS, will have to look into it! Enjoy your spa break
WG: I don't have a 31 week appointment, places vary so much. Only had booking in, 16 week, 20 week (with gp to keep his hand in which was completely pointless, 28 week, 34 week, 36 week, 38, 40 & 41. Really hasn't felt like many at all!
Bunny: hope you're enjoying rubbish tv
Sorry for moaning so much earlier, I haven't felt that rubbish in ages & not known what to do about it. I had a long 40ish min bath (whilst Isobelle played in her room, I think I nodded off a few times but her singing kept waking me up) then she still wouldn't sleep so she came in with me for a lovely 3 hour nap! Whoops. Still ache down 1 side if I move but feel far better than I did.

Glad you're feeling better after a bath bk, just keep an eye on it x

Thanks Bunny, think I scared myself a little this morning, what with all these early births we've had recently & knowing that period pains & a lot of diarrhoea can signal your body getting ready & that's way toooooo early! I'm also a bit of a hypochondriac which doesn't help. Thank goodness it's the summer holidays!
06/08/2014 at 19:07
Oh yes! Summer holidays help a lot with being able to take time and do nothing!

Sorry for lack of personals, it's been a draining day my end.
I had my best friend, who had her baby girl 3 weeks ago, on the phone this morning sobbing - she's feeling really down and totally overwhelmed by the whole new mum thing. She did have a fairly traumatic birth and was exhausted before baby even arrived. It was so sad to hear her so upset on the phone and what she was saying about her little girl. She lives about 45 mins away, so I'm going over tomorrow for the day to help as much as I can, although I don't know exactly what to do but hopefully just being there and able to help out will be a start. She went to the doctors tonight and has some tablets for anxiety to try for a month and then she has to go back.
I don't suppose anyone has any experience of how I can help her the most or experience of such a situation?
