Happy due dates Wispa and WW. Consider this your official eviction notice!
to catch up on yesterday's thread-
Jonesy, sorry you're in limbo with the results athe your choices for the birth, that's not very helpful. :-(
Wispa, yay for having your sweep booked.
WW, lol, I'm not sure one baby makes you hugely experienced with labour, I think all labours are different even for the same person. I didn't really have the trots last time, I had a day of rumbly period pains (kind of like the ones I've been having for 2 weeks now ) culminating in me having a massive gush that soaked my trousers, going into the hospital to be checked over and told there was no evidence my waters had gone so I must have wet myself. I was exceedingly pissy as I definitely didn't, I've not had so much as a drop leak leak even when coughing, sneezing or vomiting, so I don't think I'd just suddenly wet myself completely. I maintain it was my hind waters leaking, and came home from the hospital in a major strop, but then went into labour the following morning so it was all good!
Afm today, still no baby. :-( On the plus side, one of my friends is coming for lunch, so that'll be nice. Aside from lunch I need to nip to John lewis and get a lightshade for J's new room, and do some cleaning. Last night J slept in his new room & big boy bed for the first time, and it went well, so that's really good. I'll give it a couple more days and if it's still going well I can move all his clothes upstairs and free up the nursery entirely for Attila, which'll be fab. Nothing like getting things finalised at 40+4!

Morning SG, crazy story about them telling you you pissed yourself, how odd. I've luckily been pretty good on that front as well, so I'd be similarly miffed if told that. Great news about J in his new room, though I guess baby won't be going straight into the nursery, so if it takes a little while to finish things off it's not the end of the world. Come on, Attila, let's interrupt mummy's lunch and JL plans and make a surprise appearance today!
AFM, HJ still happily ensconced in my womb. Lovely. Though right now it appears she is trying to make a move out the correct exit, I've never felt her move so much so low down, hopefully a good sign! Possible TMI now, but did anyone ever check their cervix when TTC? I remember trying when I was temping and tracking CM, but even when it was supposed to be low I could never reach it. Now, I'm not about to go have a rummage up there now, but it has me worried about the sweep not working. I hope I'm just being irrational about this, worrying for no reason and all that. But I so desperately want to meet baby now that everything is making me think she's going to be as late as possible! Argh!
Sorry for being moany.. Again!

Morning SG - sounds like you've a lovely day planned, enjoy your lunch and catch up! Great that J has settled well into his new room and bed, hope the next few days continue the same way for you. Sending lots of baby out vibes to Attila (but only after lunch of course! ;-) )
Happy due date to Wispa and WW...may the BAS be plentiful in the next few days!
Sorry I didn't get back on yesterday...O has completely refused to nap the past few days ...it's hellish as he's still so tired. Literally tried everything including cuddles and rubbing his back! Hope we're not quite done with naps yet. As much as I love him I'm knackered at the mo and a 2 hour break helps recharge the batteries ;-) All fine here otherwise, had whooping cough jab yesterday and arm a bit tender but otherwise ok. Today Mum and Dad are coming over to visit so looking forward to seeing them and them entertaining O for a bit to give me a bit of respite ;-)

Wispa, I've not done any self rummaging, even when TTC. Peeing on sticks and checking pant contents for Ewcm was enough grim for me! Hopefully HJ is a timely soul and was just waiting till today to get a shift on, and all the low down movements are her prepping to try to escape. Have you any distraction plans for today, or just waiting for a baby to arrive?
04/06/2014 at 08:55
Coco, boo to the lack of napping, that's not good. I only got J to nap in the cot at Christmas, and since then have been absolutely utterly loving the 90 ish mins of peace and quiet it allows, I'd be equally miffed to lose it, especially pregnant and knackered. Hopefully it's just a phase and he'll go back to sleeping for you! Hope you have fun (and a bit of a break) with the parents.

Lots of baby out vibes to Wispa, SG and WW! Come on babies!! I really hope we get some BAs soon xx
Happy last day at work to Imp! Woohoo! Hope you have a lovely day x
Happy one month to go to CA :)
SG, well done to J for sleeping in his new big boy's room :) I'm glad it went well. Enjoy lunch with your friend, are you going anywhere nice?
Wispa, happy due date to you! Hope HJ puts in an appearance today and is just bang on time.
Coco, boo to the lack of napping, I hope it's just a phase and that everything goes back to normal again soon. Hope you have a nice time (and a little break) with your parents.
AFM, mw yesterday and my iron levels have gone up quite a lot. I'm definitely feeling a lot better so it's good to know that an iron deficiency was the cause. Bump measured a little small yesterday. The mw is pretty sure that baby is hiding under my ribs (it certainly feels that way!) but she's sending me for a growth scan today. Quite pleased to get an unexpected peek at baby, and my mum is absolutely thrilled to be invited along to the scan lol
Hi to all who follow xx

Coco, no naps? Sounds horrific, especially if he's just overtired all the time.. I hope you can get it sorted soon. Glad to hear your jab wasn't bad, I didn't find it horrible, either. Though, 6 weeks later I can still feel a hard little nodule under the skin where it was. No pain or anything, just like there's a tic tac under the skin. V v weird!
SG, distractions... Well I have to grout some tiles on our coffee table I started to fix up yesterday. Also need to finish cleaning the house the preparation for my mom arriving tonight. I think I'm going to pop out to the shops just for a walk around as well. I've already used my free coffee and cake voucher for June at JL, though. Darn! Other than that I'm just watching tv, tv, TV and bouncing on my ball ;)
Fig, glad to hear it was iron levels and is sorted out now, what a relief! How small is your bump measuring? Hopefully the scan shows all fine and normal, but how nice for your mom!
04/06/2014 at 10:29
Wispa, the first time she measured me she got 33cm (I'm 36 weeks today). She then had a feel around and said it felt like baby was under my ribs, measured again and got 35cm which she was happier with but said that she still wanted to refer to me just to be sure. It doesn't help that every time I see them I'm +6 but they always insist on plotting my chart as though I'm the week behind rather than rounding up one day to the week ahead if that makes sense. Yesterday she rounded up so it looks like I've plummeted to the 50th centile when actually I would have always been following that line if they'd consistently rounded up instead of down. Not sure if that makes sense, it does in my head!
Grouting and a wander around the shops sounds nice. Not too sure about the housework but yey to your mom arriving tonight! I reckon HJ is just waiting for Grandma to arrive before putting in an appearance :)

SG - yay for big boy bed. I remember when we moved step daughter to a toddler bed and it's safe to say I didn't sleep at all for the whole night. Hopefully you having a busy day will make her come, just for Sod's law. That's a horrible story about being told you'd pee yourself, surely it would smell completely different as well? I also think you would just know that your bladder was suddenly empty lol
Wispa - I'm worried my cervix will be too high, it's quite common with first babies. I had to go to hospital last night (will explain below) and the lady in the bed next to me had had a sweep that morning. But she had also had one a week previously that was unsuccessful. And although she was having contractions every 5 mins she got sent home as was not yet labouring fully. Felt quite sorry for her.
Coco - I've never been around a child for the napping stage but I know how exhausting pregnancy is so I can't even imagine how tired you are. Grandparents are always good for tiring out so this afternoon should give you a little break.
Fig - I had a growth scan and enjoyed it a lot. Though they do look a little squished now and no where near as pretty as before lol
AFM - swelling in my feet has been getting worse and worse and yesterday I had the spotting lights/visual disturbances so mum and H were worried and told me I had to get checked out. I have protein in my urine so they took blood and had to wait around for results, blood pressure was fine and blood ended up fine too so after 3.5 hours on the ward I got sent home. Whilst on the ward though, Jesus, it was scary! Some woman went into labour and they couldn't move her in time or give her anything other than gas and air for pain relief and she was screaming the place down. It was very eye opening, I was talking to H about it and said I wonder if I'll be vocal or not and that I just want it over now, he just keeps saying there's less than2 weeks to go but that he's going to find the whole thing terrifying. He gets scared when I'm in pain as he's scared of hurting me further if he touches me so he said "I've just realised how useless I'm going to be". I could have told him he was going to be useless weeks ago!
Oh and yesterday his niece sent me a message saying "good luck for tomorrow". I think she thought the baby would just fall out today as it's my due date - if only!

Morning all - hope you are all well!
SG - Hope you have a nice lunch today - well done on the bedroom move - hope it stays easy!
Wispa - Happy due date!! HJ sounds like they are looking for an exit :)
Coco - Hope its just a blip with the naps - bad timing for them to start petering out! Let you parents distract him
Figaro - Glad to hear your iron levels are back up - Enjoy the unexpected scan - I'm sure size is fine!
Wishful - Scary to be in the middle of it all onthe ward!!! I still cringe when I visit there!! Hope your husband surprises you and is not useless :) LOL at the sms from your husbands niece!!! If it was all so easy!!!
AFM: Starting to feel whale-like already - silly things like being able to paint my toe-nails is getting very difficult - all ok though but the baby is seriously squirming which I find quite unpleasant at times. I preferred the kicks! Basically just waiting for my check up on Friday morning to see if baby has turned - and if Placenta has moved higher up - hope so - my H is coming with me to help me remember everything.
Have a great Wednesday all!

SG - still sending loads of vibes but hopefully lunch will be a nice distraction. Are you cooking? I can't believe they didn't believe you when you said you're waters had gone. Mad! Really hope things start kicking off soon.
Wispa - happy due date! You must be excited about your mum arriving. Lets hope it's the trigger for bringin HJ out on time. Never checked my cervix when TTC so I'll be no hope there but I'm sure the sweep will go well. Try not to worry!
Coco - oh no naps sound hard! Hopefully havin visitors will mean you can rest for a bit. Is this a recent thing? I hope it passes soon and he goes back to napping soon. Hugs.
Fig - really good news about your iron levels! I get what you mean about the measurements so it seems strange they would suddenly change how they record it. Sounds like it's not really you that's small it's the recording that's mucked it up. Extra scans are always welcome though!
WW - happy due date! Really pleased the hospital visit was nothing to worry about, how scary! When I was in I had two women in labour next to me. They were both quite calm considering but one was being sick a lot, felt really sorry for her. Hahaha I think my H will be just as useless. He's no good with blood or general comforting so I'm half expecting him to faint.
Sue - Hope your appointment goes well and everything is favourable! I love the rolling movements and am not so keen on the kicks, odd isn't it? Hopefully you won't be too uncomfortable.
AFM - I had my parentcraft class last night and although I didn't learn anything new I thought it was really good. The birth centre sounds awesome and my midwife was very keen on people using it. I was surprised that pretty much everyone bar me and another girl are planning to be on labour ward though. None of them wanted the option of having an epidural taken away so didnt want the birth centre and one was asking if they "had" to have 1 hour skin to skin before the cord is cut or if it could be done asap which I thought was odd but I guess everyone is different. H came away really excited saying it had properly hit that he was having a baby haha. Duh. I saw mw this morning and she's not concerned in the slightest that baby is off scale which is good. She's also in support of a hypnobirth style delivery as long as my consultant deems me low risk as labour ward is literally opposite so if anything did go wrong time wouldn't be a negative factor. Feel a lot more positive about the whole thing now. And I don't have to change midwives when we move until after baby so I get to keep her for the birth too yay!!
We exchanged contracts on the house yesterday so we will be house owners come next Friday!! A good week all round!
Hi to those that follow xx

WW, at least I'm not alone with the sweep worrying. We'll see soon, anyways. I might manage to book in a second one for Sunday if tomorrow's doesn't work. Yr experience sounds terrifying. I'm so scared of my hospital not having room for me and not being able to get pain relief. Oh, and I'm sure my H will be useless, too. He's a very soft touch and worries a lot. I think most men do in this situation, there's not much they can do and bless them they really just wish they could do SOMETHING.
Sue, I'm like Jonesy, I prefer the squirming to the kicks. I don't like the jolting, I love the rolling ;). And great call taking your H with you to remember things for the appt. I think ive forgotten about something or other every time I've seen e midwife, it's frustrating!
Jonesy, your class sounds the opposite of the girls in my NCT class. I was the only one wanting to use labr ward so I could have an epidural, everyone else was MLU all the way! And the 1 hour of skin to skin before cutting the cord doesn't sound right. Delayed cord clamping is just a few minutes until it stops pulsing and then it's clamped and baby given back to you for skin to skin. My H had the same reaction, though, made it all very real for him! So exciting about yr house news, too, next Friday will be here before you know it.
I had some twinges of cramping and tightening again this morning, but nothing now. I'm out walking around the shops (ok, so currently sat in Starbucks, so sue me!) in hopes that it accomplishes something. Might buy myself a cheeky birthday present since everything has been so focused on baby.
I wonder if Imp's coworkers are spoiling her with cake and presents....?
04/06/2014 at 14:22
Wispa - i did think an hour was a while but this girl said she wanted it done asap as she was squeamish and didn't want to hold the gungey baby for too long haha. I'm quite happy for an hour as long as I'm warm and comfy. I think it's cos they like you to deliver the placenta before cutting the cord. I did read somewhere delayed cord clamping was for 30 mins or something but seeing as everything else varies area to area it doesn't surprise me this is different too!
Buying a birthday present for yourself is definintely the way to go! And starbucks is the reward for getting up out the house and walking as far as that surely? Makes sense to me. Hope the walking brings on some more tightenings. Are you still pumping?

Fig, really glad yore feeling better and that you know what the cause was. It doesn't sounds like there's really anything to be too concerned at with the measurements so I'm sure all will be well at the scan. Nice to get an extra sneaky peek!
WW, sounds a bit scary at the hospital, I'm glad everything turned out to be ok in the end. Not everyone's a screamer, don't worry!
Sue, fx everything is ok at the scan and that pesky placenta is out of the way!
Jonesy, the parent craft sounds good. I'm jealous of those who can use a mlu, our nearest is over an hour away, which I'd not be happy with in full labor. Huzzah for the contracts being exchanged, roll on Friday!
I've had a good day generally, got the bathrooms cleaned and some hoovering done this morning, then had a lovely lunch with my friend and watched pish tv and had a catch up. A really good friend of mine texted to say she had her baby last night, she was 40+12 but went into labour naturally and just avoided induction, so she was v happy. I'm looking forward to pics. Hope I'm next, and a bit before 40+12!
