Morning all, didn't see a thread so thought I'd start one.
Had a good day yesterday symptom wise! Even went out for tea which was nice-just to the harvester but we couldn't book anywhere as I didn't know how I would feel. we felt like we should get out with it being our last as a couple!
Feeling ok this morning too! Long may it continue!
Going up north this aft to visit one of my best friends to tell her and then seeing some school friends tomorrow - one of which has about a 4-week old so that will be nice!
Have a good weekend everyone! X

Browny - glad you're feeling good, hope it does continue. Definitely make the most of going out as a couple, although when they're teeny tiny you can just take them with you a lot of places enjoy seeing your friends this weekend x
Still the same rubbishness here, not going to go into it anymore as you'll all be fed up of me talking about it. C's agreed that we're going to stay in our PJs today, so will be quite a lazy day! I don't actually think that will really happen, but probably won't get dressed until at least lunch.
Have some lovely pieces of duck in Peking sauce for dinner tonight, just hope I'm going to be able to enjoy them.
Enjoy your weekends!! x

Woo for a good day and dinner out Browny! Enjoy visiting up Nortb x
Deedee - I still feel pretty pants too. Last night we had pizza. I had fancied it all week, managed about a slice and a half (poor effort!) then threw it all back up again over the next hour. Was so looking forward to it too. Really hope you get to enjoy your duck more than I did my pizza!
AFM - Had a rubbish nights sleep because of the usual insomnia and the wind - it was so loud! I am working for a few hours today at the university visit day, then plan to vegetate as much as possible for the test of the weekend. Might go to the cinema tomorrow if I feel up to it :)

Browny - glad you are feeling better today - great news! Enjoy seeing your friends & baby cuddles !
Deedee - hope you feel better after a pj day
Ducky - sorry you didn't enjoy your dinner - hope work flies in & you get to rest
Afm - was up all night with dodgy tummy - oh made a curry from butchers & it really didn't agree with me :( have a really sore head too. Supposed to be going to pick our pram this morning & pay deposit & I just feel rubbish. Out tonight so think I'll spend afternoon in bed to get some energy up

What pram are you going for SaSaSi? I think I'm going for the new icandy peach 3, but it isn't out yet!
15/02/2014 at 10:54
Browny, glad you felt better yesterday and lovely for you both to be able to go out for a nice meal. I hope you continue to feel better. Have a lively day.
Deedee, sorry you're still feeling rubbish. Hope you enjoy your lazy day. Duck sounds nice.
Hope your few hours at work go well, ducky, and you enjoy a lazy weekend. What are you thinking of seeing at the cinema?
How exciting to pick your pram sasasi! What are you going for? We haven't even thought about that! Need to get the scan done first.
AFM had a lovely dinner last night with H. I cooked his favourites and we did the whole three course thing with chocolate fondue and fruit to finish. Yum! He gave me a lovely bunch of roses, huge box of chocs and a really pretty, handmade dish. Luckily my appetite has not been affected by this pregnancy, other than eating small and often and even that is easing now. Half term next week do I'm going to enjoy meeting with friends, shopping and chilling. A few things to do around the house and some work but it will all be nice still to do it at my pace.
15/02/2014 at 10:56
Ducky - hope you manage to get lots of rest!
SaSaSi - oh no, that doesn't sounds good. Probably best to stay in bed most of the day so you can enjoy you night out x
Just had my scan letter through - yey! It's on 3rd March when I should be 12+1. Only problem is the time is 2.10pm, but knowing what these things are like they may well run over and we have to be at the school to pick C up before 3.15pm - what to do?? Normally I'd get my parents to pick him up, but they'll be on holiday! I'll have to have a think of another option. Maybe if it does look like it's going to be running late, MrDD will have to leave and I'll get the bus home or something, although I really wouldn't want to be there on my own in case there's any problems.
I have another question if anyone has already had their scans, it only mentions testing for Downs - do they not test for the other trisomy disorders?

raincloud - sorry missed you there. Sounds a lovely evening, especially the chocolate fondue, and great week ahead planned!

Morning everyone. We were meant to be going to my parents this weekend, but we have to go over the qe2 bridge on the m25 and its currently closed due to the high winds. They use the tunnels instead but there's a huge traffic jam so waiting a couple of hours to see if they open it or not.
Browny glad your feeling OK, have fun telling your friend, that was one of my favourite bits last time its great seeing others reactions!
DeeDee enjoy your lazy day hope you feel up for eating later. Is there a friend at school that could pick c up? The downs testing is also for the other trisomys too as the markers they look for would be present in others as well.so in theory if it cones back low risk you should be low risk for the others.
Ducky - hope work goes quickly for you and you get to relax.
Sasasi hope your tummy is feeling a bit better now. We are using our pram from last time which was a concord travel system. Its great fun playing with them all! We went to a kiddiecare and mothercare to have a play. It was lovely as we took both sets of parents the weekend after our 20 week scan. Not sure the dads enjoyed it as much as the girls did!
Raincloud dinner sounds yummy! I'm also on half term next week. Definitely take advantage of relaxing and doing things at your pace.
Nothing to report baby wise. Just got to wait for our booking in appointment 28th Feb.

Thanks bunny, it's just last time I had the Nuchal done privately because it wasn't offered on the NHS at the time, and they listed each of the trisomy's separately, each with their own risk - reading the info again it does mention "risk of chromosomal problem (like Down's Syndrome)", but everything else mentions Down's including the title of the leaflet, so I was a little concerned they weren't testing for the others. There is a mum at C's school who I might be able to ask and I know doesn't work on Mondays - don't really know many of the others well enough yet but her daughter went to the same nursery so I got to know her a bit before they both started school. I'm sure we'll sort something out.

Right OH made me get up & go! We have put deposit on iCandy Peach 3 in truffle. Got cyber Aton 3 car seat & isofix base. I added footmuff as an extra & it came to £1075.DONE!
RC - sounds like a lovely evening! Enjoy half term break.
Deedee - I had to wait over an hr & half for our 12 week scan - I would try to change it but I understand you don't want to put it back any!
Bunny - if it's not safe to travel you are much better off in the house - although it's disappointing for you
Hi to anyone who follows !
I'm away to bed!
15/02/2014 at 12:42
Where where where SaSaSi? That's what we want (but with the blossom twin adapters) I didn't think it was released anywhere yet?
15/02/2014 at 13:36
Pre-order! Apparently the company director is Irish & gave all Irish distributors 6 weeks before England release date. It will be officially launched & ready to order in England after the Baby Show end of this month. Was playing with peach 2 so it gave us a gd idea. We want a uni sex colour so it was either black or the truffle. He will have a truffle in store for a wkend display end of April & if I really hate it he'll be able to change order to black. Says waiting lists are crazy - our won't be in until July which works out perfect for us anyway.
15/02/2014 at 14:34
Oo I'm going to the baby show on Saturday 22nd. I hope it is there and I get to play. I think we will go for the Jet Black colour way.
Not sure if I dare pre-order yet (apparently they are taking the first English pre-orders at the baby show)...

Pleased to see Valentine's day meant flowers and/or chocs to most!
I returned to work for Thursday and Friday, finally got rid of my cold - phew! Felt really good for those two days, nausea seems to have passed.
Then, this morning I woke up with a really nagging headache but didn't want to take any paracetomol, as I took some for my cold. Anyhow, I've just been to bed for a sleep for 1.5hrs and my head is feeling better. Just having a large drink of orange squash, some grapes and 2 paracetomols.
My lovely husband is taking me out to an Indian restaurant tonight as part of our valentine's day yesterday, so I really want to feel well as I feel at the moment all I do is moan about how rubbish I feel!!
PS: Our 12 week scan is on Monday morning, which we're both very excited about!! 2 more sleeps x

Just dropping in to say to DeeDee... I've had my scan and in our hospital they do bloods beforehand and give you your risks on the day. In my notes it actually only lists the background risk and adjusted risk of Trisomy 21 (Down's) - I thought it listed them all but I've just checked and it doesn't. But in person she did say "we also test for a couple of other common genetic abnormalities and your risk of those is lower than the Down's risk". On the computer screen it gave numbers for the other genetic abnormalities. I'm sorry but I can't remember what they are, the numbers were low risk enough that we were happy not to question further. The notes also list the results of the blood test and the nuchal translucency and I *think* in theory those can be used to work out the risks.

Thanks so much Saisi, that's really helpful - I believe they're Edward's, Patau's, and possibly Turner's syndromes.
16/02/2014 at 09:25
Sasasi that's exciting that you've ordered the pram!
Alipops hope you enjoyed your meal out. Only 1 day until your scan!
Ducky I bet it will be great at the baby show Getting to try out different things.
We ended up having friends over last night as we didn't go to my parents but I was ready for bed at 9:30 and they didn't go til 11:30. Not got much planned today I'm going to write a list of everything I would like to do over half term. I love a list! Nothing to report baby wise still only feel tired. It was the same with k so fingers crossed I have a great pregnancy like that again!
