Morning ladies, feeling brave after the scan y'day so thought I'd start the post!!
In all my excitement yesterday I forgot to ask if I could get a picture of the scan so I've not got one! It only occurred to me after I read Jems post! Bit gutted but nevermind. I was so long at the hospital as they did my booking in for me there (last time I had to go to the doctors to register with the midwife) but no need as she's done it all for me, I'll get a letter through for my 12week scan and I'll also get a call from the midwife to come out for the home visit so that's good! The woman I saw was actually the same nurse I saw after my 2nd scan last time and the one who told me to phone back if I was pg again and she was brilliant. She's marked me down under the care of the epu until my 12week scan (rather than a midwife) so if I have any problems I just go to them directly. Night and day for the horrible woman I got when I phoned 2 weeks ago!!
Sorry what a ramble! Not alot planned this weekend, I seem to have washing mountain accumulated this week and going to my parents for dinner tonight. I had a terrible sleep last night, I was boiling and (as I sleep on my front) kept waking as my boobs were hurting. Looks like an afternoon nap day for me!
Hope everyone's well and BE good luck on 2nd Tri xx

Morning missdeedee! What a shame about the picture, although I've got pictures and there isn't "that" much to see! Good that they've marked you for epu care. You've definitely received better care than I have so far. I've got my booking in appt next week, so I guess I'll see how they are at that. Boooo to having loads of washing, I hope you get it done quickly, also enjoy your tea out at your parents. I'm assuming they know?
I have no idea why my body keeps waking me up at 6am, but it's driving me mental! Grrrr! I am sleeping really well at night but waking up early and then I can't get back to sleep. I sleep in my front too, I'm trying to train myself to sleep on my side but its so hard.
We've told our parents now, after everything we went through last time we would want them to know whatever happened, so we decided to tell then after the early scan. They're all thrilled and keeping everything crossed for us.
18/05/2013 at 07:09
Morning Imp, I know there wouldn't be much to see, would have been good to keep though. We've moved our private scan three weeks so will go whe I'm 9 weeks so I guess I'll get a pic then!
Yeah we told my parents, last time we told my parents and H's and this time have only told mine (I live really near my parents so we see them all the time, H's are about 500 miles away!). If something went wrong again I would tell my mum anyway so we told them the weekend before last. We decided not to tell H's folks though as they're do far away and we couldn't see them after the bad news last time which is quite hard. Lovely you've told your parents and your more than half way through 1st Tri!
I'm trying to sleep on my side too but I just default back to my front, it's waking me every night. I might try sleeping with a bra on to see if that helps.
18/05/2013 at 07:16
Yeah, maybe sleeping with a bra on is a good idea. I've got a couple of soft/ non underwired bras which I sometimes sleep in. Although, this time my boobs haven't really hurt me, I'm not sure why.
I'm definitely getting more nausea, so I'm just guessing that every pregnancy is different.
18/05/2013 at 07:19
I know it's no actual relation to what happened last time, but I'm glad that things feel 'different' this time, it reminds me it's a new pregnancy and that things are going differently this time, my boobs are much more sore this time but only really starting to feel nauseous now where last time I was sick at 5 weeks!
18/05/2013 at 07:36
I can't decide whether to book a private scan for before my 12 week scan. I can't really afford it but I really want to book one for about 10 weeks. I'm not sure whether to just put it on my credit card, what do you think?
18/05/2013 at 07:55
Good morning you two gasbags!!
MDD - i only got a picture because the scan lady said "would you like a picture". It wouldn't have occurred to me ask because i was just so relieved everything was okay and i was i mentally trying to figure if our DTDing tallied with the dates. LOL
Imp - if you really cant afford it, then save your money for something you will need to spend money on further on down the road like a cot for example. (Got my sensible head on this morning, sorry if its boring!)
AFM - we *think* we have decided to moved Lucy to bigger room and decorate it red! If new baby is pink, she can move into tha room too. If new baby s blue, will have to decorate the nursey blue :-) But i haven't bought the red paint yet. So gonna ride my horsey this weekend instead :-)
18/05/2013 at 08:49
MDD that's a shame about the picture. Although you can't really see much on mine.
Imp how exciting you have told your parents! Don't book the scan save your pennies.
HF the weather looks lovely for a horse ride, sounds like you be kept busy decorating.
Afm I still have a cold getting on my nerves now. Willing the weekend away to my scan, I still can't believe I will be 12 weeks on monday! Our new washing machine arrived so I am making the most of the sunshine and washing everything, including the dog.
18/05/2013 at 09:25
HF- enjoy riding your horse, it's pouring down here, what's it like with you? I know you're tight about the scan.
Vivixon- lucky you having sunshine. We're in for a really miserable day with rain all day! Enjoy your new washer! How exciting that its your scan, what day is it on? Hope your cold improves soon.
Since my last post I haven been battling to not be sick. My mouth is watering all the time and I feel pretty crap. Yayyyy for symptoms!!!
18/05/2013 at 09:37
Imp maybe see how your feeling, if your symptoms keep going strong and you feel confident then don't think about another scan. I was prepared to pay for one so that's the only reason I'm still going as the cost was already accounted for if that makes sense and epu had said they would scan me after 8 weeks so I've ended up with my scans the other way round. I know for the nurses at the hospital this happens every day and they don't offer everyone an early scan but that's not how it feels for the person! It's quite disappointing that they've not offered you a scan. I want to say save the money but I know exactly how your feeling and how much you'll want the scan. (I am laughing at HF being 'tight' with the scan, I'm sure she'll actually agree with that typo!)
HF sounds like a plan on the rooms. Is the nursery pink I take it? Do you plan to find out or will you just decorate when LO arrives? Have a good day with the horse.
VV your 12 week scans come round quickly!! Glad you've got a washing machine again and don't need to do the trip to the laundrette. I forgot to ask, how did your new dog get on at the cinema the other day? (Sorry don't know his/her name). Hope they like getting washed, our dog hates it and goes in the huff afterwards!x
18/05/2013 at 10:23
Very impressed with the decorating plans - we have not worked out quite how or where we are going to fit a nursary in! My stepkids have one room when they visit so its going to have to be the guest room I suppose, but it has 3 x wardrobes full of our clothes and 'stuff' in it. When I suggested they could stay there and we could just add a cot, my husband pointed out that the baby is going to have 'stuff' of its own! I guess it will sleep in our room initially, but we definitely need to make some major changes before too long!
I was hoping to ride my new pony this weekend, but she has ditched a shoe. Pesky pony.
18/05/2013 at 10:37
Imp my scan is on Tuesday. Can't wait.
MDD he just slept through it all, his name is Wayne. Guide dogs are named a letter by litter, so his sister us Wren!
18/05/2013 at 10:44
morning ladies, hope everyone has got a lovely sunny day like me!!
missdeedee its a shame you didnt get a photo but like Im says, the pics of seen of early scans there isnt lots to see, the one from you next scan would be much better!
Imp Im waking up super early too but ive been putting that down to going to bed so early too!
HorseFan it looks like lovely weather for a horse ride!! have fun!!
Vivixon I have images of you trying to get the dog in your washing machine!!! I should probably do a load of washing too, you are all making me feel bad!
Ponynut Ive already started thinking about where we are going to put a cot and all its stuff!! I think im going to have to sacrifice some shoes cupboards!!
AFM- on post check everyday for my scan date! H and I went to our local last night for dinner and 2 sets of friends ended up joining us for drinks but I was so knackered I ended up going home at 8! apparently after i left everyone was asking if i was ok as normally im the last to leave the pub and such a chatterbox! My H can't wait until it is out in the open!! He is planning on calling his mum today to tell her since she has pretty much guessed plus he says he is bursting to tell someone!
Off to a 2 year olds birthday party today so hopefully I'll get lots of jelly!!
18/05/2013 at 11:14
Like many of you I wake up ridiculously early! However Ive worked out that once hubby gets up, I roll over and get a few more hours. Today I finally woke up at 10.30-oops!
I'm glad the weekend is here, not long until my 12 week scan wed. Were doing more packing this morning, oh the joys! Enjoy the sunshine if you have any!
18/05/2013 at 14:14
This is the current nursery. Just a bit girly! LOL
18/05/2013 at 20:39
I hate being late to the party but yey for quiet weekend threads!!!
mdd hope you have a nice meal tonight. I have the same problem with tender boobs and sleeping on my front, I keep having to rearrange them!!! I'm so glad you had such a positive experience with the hospital, I'm glad I have the pic, as others have said there isn't much to see but because my scan was private it was included. When you have yours in a few weeks time there will be so much more to see
Imp I keep waking at 6 too but it's because I need the loo!!! Then by the time I get back into bed im awake and can't nod off! I'm glad your parents are really excited for you
HF, I hope you enjoyed your ride. I love the pink nursery, seems a shame if you end up making it blue!!!
V I hope your cold gets better soon, I did get a mental image of a dog in a washing machine for a minute!! I didnt realise they gave litters of guide dogs a letter, think that's really lovely
P I hope you had a good day anyway
MB you've got me wanting jelly now!!!! Hope nobody guessed, but I can totally understand the needing to go home
G hope your packing went ok and slowly!!!
AFM Finished moving the last few bits from my flat today so I'm officially living back with my parents. Moving things and cleaning the flat then unpacking and tidying this end has really taken it out of me and I'm exhausted and every bit of me aches. My boobs have been quite sore again today which I've been so thankful for!
Tomorrow I will be shopping for more new bras as I've gone up another cup size already!!!
The scan I had yesterday showed a 42mm luteal cyst on my one ovary as well which I totally forgot in all the excitement! The sonographer says it's nothing to worry about and they will check it again at my 12 week scan when it should be getting smaller... I'm wondering whether this might be why my bloating is so bad though. The trousers I used to wear with PMS bloating are now not doing up by almost an inch!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
19/05/2013 at 11:05
Happy Sunday people - the sun seems to be shining here?!?! What is going on?
I have been for a run - not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep that up - and looking forwards to playing with the ponies, pottering in the garden and eating a roast dinner for the rest of the day! 9 weeks today I think.
Who have people told pre 12 week scan? Only my sister knows as I didn't really want parents or anyone else knowing until things are a bit less risky. Both mine and OH's parents live miles away and we only see them every few months, so it hasn't been a difficult secret to keep anyway.
19/05/2013 at 11:29
I've been AWOL for a few days as I've been really busy but I've been reading the threads on my pohone and am finally at a computer and able to catch up with you all.
MIssdeedee - i'm sooooo pleased that your scan went well, you must be so happy!
Imp - I am so so happy that your sacn went well too. I knew it would be ok. I keep waking up stupidly early but seeing as I'm giong to bed ear;y some nights too it's not so bad. I'm thinking about booking a private scan for 9/10 weeks too - did you decide whether to do it?
HF - ahhh your current nursery is cute. Have you decided what to do with the decorating yet?
Vivixion - wow that's gone quickly. Hope your scan on Monday goes well.
Mrs Bass - I get thr same thing at the moment - usually I'm the last one standing on a night out. Has your H told his mum yet?
Gemini - hope the packing's going well.
Ponynut - mmm roast dinner. Can I come to yours?? We told both sets of parents and our sisters. I didn't want to tell anyone but my H was insistent. I'm still not happy about it. You should tell who you want to tell and if you want to wait - and you think you can get away with it - then you should.
Jem - glad the move is all done. Hope the cyst does go down by the 12 week scan - I think they are fairly normal?
AFM - I was at a business meeting on Thurdsay anf Friday in Manchester. We flew, and I had a tiny panic on the plane that I was somehow hurting the baby by flying, even though it's mean to be safe. All seems to be ok though. Took my clients out for dinner and told them I was on antibiotics so wasn't drinking - not sure if they all bought it though. oh well, I leave in 4 weeks anyway. It was my nieces birthday party yesterday - lots of toddlers covered in food and water and sand - guess I'll have to get used to that! Then out with friends last night. Got lots of questions about not drinking, I think they are getting a bit suspicious. However I have a horrendous cold and can't stop coughing so I claimed that was the reason. I do actually feel like crap though and there's nothing we can take, is there? Woe is me.... ;-)
BTW, Imp and I have set up a facebook group for the 2014 babies. If you want to be added and don't put putting your real name on here for a short while, I'll check back as often as I can and add you. Or Imp can if I'm not around. I know that some people prefer to be anon and that's fine. It's not going to be a replacement for here or anything so you won't miss out if you don't want to join.

PonyNut - with my 1st I told the couple of girlfriends i rode regularly with - so they didn't gallop off in front of me or do something silly and I told my parents. This time quite a lot of people know. But then quite a lot of people knew about m/c so I've wanting to tell them I'm okay as pregnant again!
Hi Penny, flying is fine, just remember to keep up your fluids :-)
AFM - been out for lovely ploddy ride on my horse this morning. Just pollifillered all the holes and planning to paint red (or maybe purple????) On the walls next weekend..... Just off to make some bread. Then attempt to get tickets for our Towns "big lunch" whatsit on 2nd June - they are doing a "medieval feast" cos it also coincides with some anniversary of the market charter. Or something. Whatever, a feast sounds good to me!
19/05/2013 at 13:54
Jem - I don't know anything about cysts but hopefully yours will resolve itself
