This is the first thread I've started since my TTC days (excepting my BFP one!) v excited randomly! H and I now seem to be out of sync with our sleeping patterns as I'm out for the count so early and then up again fairly early and he's still fast asleep after not coming to bed till 1! We have a friend's leaving do (she's off to Dubai to teach for 2 years) in Edinburgh tonight. I've kinda lost my interest in nights out the mo. they are all cocktail making before we meet them for dinner. *groan for being the only sober one*
What is everyone up to this weekend?

Morning sweatpea. Tonight sounds fun, i'm sure you'll enjoy it once you're there.
Nothing much happening with me really. I told my mum about the baby yesterday. She was so shocked! I said 'guess who's pregnant?'. She looked puzzled then guessed my sister (who is 23 and single) then my cousin then said she gave up and tell her who!! Haha, once she got over the surprise she was really pleased,. apparently she thought we wanted at least 3 years as an age gap (no idea why). Anyway i'm pleased i've told her as for some reason i was nervous about it.
Not much going on this weekend. Lots of housework and organising this morning, we've been here 2 weeks and not done much more since the first few days! Then will go and ride my horse later

Hey sweetpea! Being the only sober one, pah! It's not a position I've ever been in (before), I usually am top of the wine-drinking league lol
I'm still getting some pink, and have a wide array of typical pregnancy symptoms! This weekend, well I've all day today to myself. Going to rifle through and chuck some clothes (I own a ridiculous amount in about 4 sizes!) and asses the clothes available for when I have a proper bump. I'm going to read on my balcony, stroke my dog, and see an old friend and her 4 kids for a cuppa in the afternoon. Have some funny wedding pics of her kids to show her, so should be fun! Think later we might go to a country pub for a meal. We never do that because we're always both drinking so we go places within walking distance, but as I'm driving now - the world's our lobster! :)
10/08/2013 at 09:25
AR - you'd think your mum would have guessed YOU even despite that. How funny! What horse do you have? Name? I love horses! Was meant to be riding with mum today but just don't feel up to it with all the dizziness.
10/08/2013 at 09:28
Ha i can't believe she guessed my sister before me! My sister is VERY anti-babies,she'll think it's hilarious when i tell her. I have agrey Irish sports horse. We compete lots, eventing mainly. I'm hoping to get one or two more in during first tri and keep riding for some time yet. I love it, it's a way of life. P already loves it, she has a shetland. Sooooo cute!!
10/08/2013 at 09:35
Brilliant! Kids and Shetlands, so cute. I used to help in the local stables, when I was still at school, we used to have so much fun riding the Shetlands out to the field at the end of the day, no saddle, just a bit of rope and hanging on to 2 or 3 others. Those were the days! Shame I had to discover boys and vodka...

I've got a question for Team First Tri: when did/will you start buying baby stuff? I really want to spread it out and I love finding bargains. I still need to sell my wedding stuff but then would love to crack on with looking for various things. I've got a list of what I consider to be essentials for us.
10/08/2013 at 10:18
I'm still in bed, feeling fine just tired. I have a very definite bump now so roll on Thursday then I can tell people!
Sweetpea, enjoy your evening, might not be as bad as you think. I've got to celebrate my 30th sober booooo!
AR, your mum made me laugh! Bless her. Glad you told her, I love talking to mine about it all.
Counter, glad you have some symptoms to reassure you. I haven't bought anything yet, I did look yesterday but couldn't bring myself to. Have bought maternity stuff but that's a comfort thing!
10/08/2013 at 10:30
I started buying baby stuff gradually after our 12 week scan. P was born end if feb so we got the big stuff like pram and car seat in the January sales.
Isis I'm very jealous of you being in bed. I've been up doing housework. Dull!!
10/08/2013 at 10:31
AR that's hilarious!!! You'd think she'd have picked up the hint straight away! Ha ha! Enjoy your day and the horses in particular.
Counter hope you aren't suffering too much with the dizziness. I was a big wine guzzler too so its been a big change for me too! Enjoy your friend and the country pub! I wouldn't dream of buying anything until 2nd tri personally but it is a very personal thing. IMO there's still plenty of time between 14-40 weeks and although I'm not especially superstitious I don't want to tempt fate!
Isis that's lovely you have a bump! It'll be fab to start telling people properly.

Morning all, on my third breakfast of the day as i type, i am going to be the size of a small village by the time i move to second tri.
Sweetpea - hope you enjoy your night out, being the sober one sucks, maybe they will let you make a non alcoholic cocktail.
AR - Pleased all went well telling your Mum, is quite funny she didn't even have an idea and guessed your sister. Very jealous of the shetland pony for P, i have ideas about having ponies not sure if my H will agree though.
Counter - sorry you are still getting pink, but pleased you are being more positive. Enjoy your country pub meal. We will be putting off buying as long as possible as we need to move house and like sweetpea don't want to tempt fate.
Isis - very jealous of your lay in, i don't be able to sleep much beyond 6 at the moment, have you got a creative way to tell people or just going to go with the 'i'm pregnant'
Feeling much more positive here, had another scan Thursday which showed two little shrimps with proper traceable heartbeats and both measuring spot on for dates, will stick some pictures on over the weekend at somepoint if i get a chance. Still no real sickness, but could eat all day every day and soooooo tired, even wake up tired. Look about 7 and a half months pregnant not 7 and a half weeks and have stopped riding in my jodphurs as it is so obvious. Off to a friends BBQ later to be the only sober one and make excuses as to why i can't drink but really looking forward to it.
Hope you all have lovely weekends
10/08/2013 at 12:55
PP I still can't believe you're having twinnies!!!!! That's crazy you have such a bump already! Enjoy the BBQ!
10/08/2013 at 13:00
PP-nice to see you! Twins is soooooooooooooooooo exciting!! How long do you think you'll keep riding for? I rode to 21 weeks with P and hope to so similar/if not a bit more this time. Just hacking by that point obviously!

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having lovely weekends.
SP, saw your pic the other day, it’s lovely!
AR, glad your mum was pleased once the shock wore off.
Counter, sorry you are still getting pink! Sounds like you have a lovely day planned.
Hi Isis! Not long til your scan now :)
PP, glad the scan went well! How exciting having twins! Have a lovely evening.
I’m feeling sorry for myself, fell over this morning. Feel like a right idiot. Fell on my arm and bum though so hopefully everything will be fine. It scared me though. I was climbing over the puppy pen with the dog and got my foot stuck. I dropped Rosie too but she seems fine. Scan on Monday. I just need to get to that. I’m hoping it will help me to cheer up, but at the moment I feel awful all the time and I’m puking loads so I’m quite fed up still.
Got to see my uncles pregnant wife later who is 20 years older than me but stick thin. She will look lovely (I’ve already been told about her ‘beautiful little bump’ by my grandparents), and I will look like a sweaty fat cow. I know I shouldn’t compare but it’s hard. I know she’s just going to make me feel more ***. Everyone keeps going on about how hard it is for her with the tiredness and how much she’s been through with the IVF (she only needed IVF because SHE chose to be sterilised years ago after having her two children. My uncle earns a fortune and only took a couple of months to get the money together and it worked first time for them), and seemingly failing to realise that my body is doing exactly what hers is, I’m carrying about 5 extra stone to her, and I’m battling with sickness (she hasn’t even felt sick). I’m just so sick to death of hearing how hard it is for her and how well she is doing, when nobody asks me how I am. I wish I didn’t have to go but my aunt and cousins are up from cornwall so I don’t really have a choice.
Sorry, I’m in a bad mood today :(

Oh OB that sounds rubbish. Chin up love, I hope it won't be too bad just focus on you and enjoying yourself. You're growing a baby, remember what an amazing thing that is and don't let anyone take that from you x
10/08/2013 at 17:50
SP - I know exactly what you mean, I'm rarely awake when H comes to bed at the moment! I hope you have a lovely evening and at least you won't be hungover tomorrow.
AR - I bet you are glad your mum knows now, even if she had a few wrong guesses!!
Counter - Your plans sound great. I hope the pink spotting stops soon, its annoying isn't it? I'm definitely not buying anything until we get the all clear this time. I only bought a babygrow and changing bag last time just before my 20 week scan. There's plenty of time to get things, why not save the money for later on?
Isis - Lovely lie in! Hope you feel less tired as a result.
PP - Glad you are feeling positive, are your twins identical? My friend is having identical twin girls!
OB - I hope you manage to survive the family gathering, just try and get though it! Hopefully she will balloon later on!! No long till our scans :)
AFM - Home from our holiday and I feel shattered. Must be all the walking I've done, hopefully will counteract the amount of food I've eaten over the last week. I'm sure my bump is food related! Not long until my scan, starting to feel nervous now. Especially as my nuchal bloods haven't been taken yet so will need to wait longer for my screening result than last time.
Not much planned for the rest of the weekend, roast at MIL's tomorrow so that will save me cooking!
10/08/2013 at 22:24
MrsV, when's your scan? I think I need a spreadsheet! Here they take nuchal bloods on the day of the scan but before I'm sure they were taken at booking in. Hopefully the sonographer will say whether all looks well or not.
I'm having a weekend of no cooking, tea tonight at my mums and dinner tomorrow at my friends. I'll need you lot to keep me sane this week though, H away mon-weds, scan Thursday and I need to organise my son's 4th party for Saturday and cake for his actual birthday on Sunday with grandparents.
11/08/2013 at 09:18
Isis its tomorrow. Last time my bloods were taken before the scan but because I was away last week they couldn't do them. Im hoping the hospital will do them tomorrow.
11/08/2013 at 10:02
Sweetpea, still cant believe its twinnies ourselves, exciting and more than a little bit scary, don't think twins run in either family and ours are fraternal so two eggs and different sacks and placentas.
Hoping to keep riding as long as i can AR, trying not to put a date on it will just keep plodding along till i am either too big or too uncomfortable, horse is a saint so no worries in that respect, may have to invest in a winch to get on and off though. Out of interest how did you get off with a bump? i am going to get my H to build a super high mounting block i reckon so i can just step on and off.
Mrs V loads of luck for your scan tomorrow.
OB - sorry you are feeling sorry for yourself, and i bet your looking bloomin gorgeous.
