...and tried on the connecta sling as recommended by so many of you on here - I loved it and have convinced H that we should get one
Been on the website and so many are sold out (love the zebra print one!) - do they stock them in any shops or is there anywhere else I can order one apart from the website direct?
15/07/2013 at 21:48
There is a bit of an issue with supply at the moment. However I know that www.petitpoppet.co.uk (run by an ex-hitcher) and Slumber-roo both do have stock at the moment although don't know which ones.

I'm selling mine if you are interested... Doesn't have a sleep hood but in good condition - can dig out a pic if you like?
15/07/2013 at 21:52
Thanks for the other websites JB. SL, yes I would be interested and would love to see a pic x

I've just got mine from carry my baby and they had a few designs I'm stock. Arrived the next day!

Can't find a pic of my one that shows it well enough but it's this design:

OMG, Sofa Leopard, that is absolutely flipping gorgeous.
15/07/2013 at 22:18
Nice isn't it? You buying? Would go SO well with your nursery ;-)
15/07/2013 at 22:28
Not sure I can justify buying given I am already in possession of :- Kari-Me; Beco Butterfly; Babyhawk; Connecta Solarweave
however i have to say I am very very tempted.

I have a Close to sell as well if you want even more? And a Scootababy that I will be done with in a few months...
New business as a sling library???
15/07/2013 at 22:40
Ha ha. I did find it rather amusing when I went to a breastfeeding workshop, lady asked if anyone was planning to use a sling so i said yes and she started telling me about the local sling library. I didn't like to disillusion her that I probably had almost as many at home myself - or at least had tried them in the past and sold on. I didn't get on with the Connecta at all with Zoe but as we are going to the Caribbean in January and with it being summer here I decided that a solarweave was a good investment to at least see if we got on with it. If we do, and yours hasn't sold by then, I'll be back in touch.
Oh, was it you that has the Minene Layla changing bag ? If so what do you think of it ?
(sorry for thread derailing / taking over)
15/07/2013 at 22:49
Cool. I'm in no hurry to sell so may still have it by then if Ferbs doesn't want it! And I really would recommend the Scootababy too for an older baby/toddler - it's a hip carrier and really quick up and down.
And yes I do have the Minene Layla. I love it - loads of space but looks lovely too. I love the rings/hook to attach it neatly to the pushchair, and the straps that work as a backpack or shoulder bag without having to faff around changing them (so useful when slinging). The only slight gripe I would have is that the change mat isn't waterproof, but we seem to have managed OK so far (and you could always use another change mat). I'm still using it now and R is 16 months - with H I gave up on change bags at about a year so it must be good!

Do you have a fabric one or wipeable ? If you have the fabric one is it actually waterproof or when it rains does everything get soaked ? I'm trying to resist (there's a lot I'm trying to resist at the moment) but am very tempted. I had a Kecci Mommy bag which does the convertible back pack thing but hadn't realised quite how scruffy it was looking until I got it back out the other day.
15/07/2013 at 22:59
Fabric - but I think it is coated in something as it has never seemed to get overly wet tbh
15/07/2013 at 23:02
Great, thanks. Just have to decide between sensible plain (so it doesn't clash with my rather bright Boden winter coat) or pretty pattern ...
16/07/2013 at 07:24
SL, how much do you want for the sling? Love the design although my H is concerned that the flowers are a bit too girlie for a little boy! I told him that it also has blue on it!
16/07/2013 at 15:18
Erm, I don't know - £40 posted?
And yes it def has blue on it! Surely it should be as much for you as for E... (and if your H wants to wear it you can reverse it as the lining is black - v manly!)
16/07/2013 at 16:15
Hope you don't mind SL but think I will pass. Spoke to my H about it and he said that he would rather spend the extra £20 for a new one in a design that he felt more comfortable with and that comes with the sleep hood. Hope you find a buyer soon! x
16/07/2013 at 16:53
OK no worries - has to be one you both love! And keeps it available for JB...
16/07/2013 at 17:34
I love my Connecta and got it from the Little Possums site as it was marginally cheaper at £62 but that includes postage. Fantastic service. Ordered Weds arrived Fri and had loafs of designs in stock x
