Bit of a ramble but I'll get there I promise! H's best friend who was best man at our wedding and A's godfather had a very short lived relationship with a girl who 2 months after the relationship ended told him she was pregnant. At first she was happy for him to be involved but later back tracked and said she wasn't sure and that she didn't want him involved until paternity could be proved. She's now had the baby and H's friend is going to see them both. As he got both E and A lovely gifts when they were born I would like to reciprocate but I don't really know what to get. The baby will be living with mom (who I've never met - like I said, it was short loved!) and H's friend will be having visits with the baby at hers. Any ideas as I'm stumped!

Baby record book?

How about a really nice book of classic fairy tales or children's stories. It can stay at her house, and last baby all through childhood, but your friend can read them to little one.
Poor guy, can't be easy.

What about a nice photo frame for him to put a photo of baby in at his house.

I got this for my H for part of his Xmas, what about something similar as then it's technically a gift for the baby but it will only be given to the dad at this point and then given the parents aren't together it will give him an opportunity to share more about him and his family with his baby?
It's mega reduced too, it cost me a tenner! Lol!

I think a book or a nice baby blanket would be nice, not too personal from the mum's point of view but your friend will apprecaite it x
