And where did you purchase? Photos of your cuties very welcome as are links to outfits.
I think we will go down the little suit route rather than a gown for Sam, though I would like something fairly traditional, I think, haven't seen a lot to compare though! BHS have a lovely cream suit but it's out of stock and would appreciate seeing a few options first anyway.

C wore a cream silk gown, from BHS. That was down to my Mum though...

Nothing Christening-y at all. A blue, red and white shorts all-in-one with a boat on it. Very cute :)

Suit trousers from next and a little white shirt. Also had little shoes but they lasted about two minutes!

My eldest son worn a 3 piece from mothercare - black cord trousers, white shirt and dark grey pinstripe waistcoat. he was 10months though and it was winter, hence the colour choice.
My twins wore co-ordinating outfits from mothercare's humphrey's corner range - my boy had beige trousers, cream polo shirt and cream and beige tank top and he looked really really cute! the twins were younger, 7months so could still pull off the pale colour cuteness!

http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Humprhey%27s-Corner-Dungaree-Set/512082,default,pd.html I cant find the set my youngest had but this is the colourway that it was (and I quite like this set too!)

A little romper from Debenhams. I searched high and low for something and this was the only thing I liked (middle of the heatwave so couldn't put him in a suit)

Well I've somehow managed to post the wrong photo and it's tiny buy hey, it's the right way round for a change!

Thanks all, some lovely outfits and ideas. I hadn't even thought of Next, chimps, just looked and they have some lovely suits.
Counter - that sounds super cute! I am after something quite traditionally christening-y though!
AK - Sounds like the one Bhs are still selling, me and your mum must have similar taste!!
HT - thanks for the lovely photo - he looks gorgeous and the romper is such a good idea. Sam's will be in Winter unfortunately though so too cold. I have just looked in Debenhams though and found the cutest christening bib!
QK - love the MC suit! It's like a mini wedding one! Sam's is in winter too, he'll be about 6m old.

I love the traditional outfits and colours for Christenings so Flynn was 12 months and wore a white silk romper with a pale blue jacket. Tate was 2.5 and wore cream velvet trousers and waistcoat and white shirt and Rafferty was 10 months and wore a traditional gown (that I fell in love with and bought when pregnant with F 8 years before!). Luckily he wasn't crawling or walking lol.
Sorry they're huge and I don't have one of Flynn on the iPad.

John Lewis sometimes have nice outfits in too. All of mine were Christened in winter - Rafferty wore tights under his gown lol!

Alaina, they are both gorgeous and I love R in the gown! Where is it from? I think we will end up going with a suit but I do want a really traditional one, Tate's is quite like the Bhs one I'm after that is out of stock. Thanks for sharing.

Lol at the tights! Will check JL, thanks.

Not the best pictures i'm afraid. But S wore a grey coloured knitted waist coat with t-shirt underneath and little grey linen shorts. They're humprhy's corner from Mothercare. I didn't want anything too formal or christening-y

It's so hard for boys isn't it. Millions of suitable dresses for girls though!

My two wore linen cropped trousers in beige with a white linen shirt from Vertbaudet - both summer christenings. Don't have any photos on here unfortunately but they were ideal outfits for the time of year and Vertbaudet have a few nice outfits in a similar style.

LambyAK - Sounds like the one Bhs are still selling, me and your mum must have similar taste!!
That's impressive. C got Christened 9 years ago... It was a lovely gown though (came with a bonnet, and a shawl)
It was like this one

On my phone so no pics but A wore a Sarah Louise romper and hat
My boys wore cream/beige trousers and waist coat and a white shirt brought from M&S.

I am having the exact same problem trying to find something for A to wear for his naming day next month. Looked at trousers, with shirts and waistcoats in Next today, although none jumped out at me.
Have seen loads of frilly dresses though!
