On my notes it says "Relation of Presenting Part to Brim" and so far mw has always written "Free" but today she put 4/5. Am i just getting excited or does this mean im 4/5 engaged?

Im probably jumping the gun here .... was going to ask her re baby being engaged but we were talking about other stuff and i forgot and shes a nightmare mw and doesnt tell me anything unless i ask!!!

OK i found this so it does mean baby has started to engage - yay!

PP (presenting part) refers to the bit of your baby that will arrive first (usually the head). Your midwife will note down how much of your baby's head can be felt above the brim of your pelvis as fifths: 5/5 means that the head is not engaged at all and is often described as being free, whilst 0/5 means that the head is fully engaged (your baby's head has moved into your pelvis ready to be born). So basically the lower the first figure, the more engaged the baby's head. E or Eng means engaged, while NE means not engaged

I dont know why i didnt think to google it in the first place - pregnancy brain i spose ... hehe

Ive done a little research tho and i dont think its anything to be excited about as it doesnt mean baby will come anytime soon and baby can even move back out of pelvis i think!! Its quite painful down low today when baby moves tho so hoping this is a good sign.
