I've ordered a cot bed duvet from mothercare and it's been delivered today and seems quite thin.
its only 4tog. I'm assuming when they're only little they don't want a big heavy 13 tog duvet on them but didn't know if 4 tog will be warm enough?
To be honest it probably makes no difference for W as at the moment she won't keep anything on in bed. She takes her sleeping bag and pjs off and I've put blankets in there but she doesn't like having them on her either so she probably will just chuck the duvet out too but I'm hoping after a while she will get used to it and want to make sure it's thick enough

we went a 4.0 for Luke's first duvet, he went into a single bed from a cot bed aged 3. at first it was ok, but the following year we had a cold winter and bought a thicker one, but he was 4 years old by then. I think I'd stick with the 4.0 and you can always add an extra fleecy blanket if you think it's a cold night or dress her in the fleecy pjs/onesies. we use Luke's 4.0 as summer duvet now, or as a spare if he's been ill and sick, so it's not been a waste of money.

Thanks Carole. I did a quick google and it seems to be about right for a toddler. I've just put it in her bed and it now looks so grown up :(
