Me and my husband are over the moon that we r going to hav a baby soon but i cant get out of my head that my dates are wrong. My lmp was the 24th april but ultrasound dated me the 27th april which would mean conception occured on the 11th of may? But i know i never had sex that dat but did the morning after and a lot the week after as we were on honeymoon. Can someone roughly tell me when we did conceive? It's really bugging me

Don't know much about it but I have heard that the due date can be wrong be a few days either way...I know it's wrong for mine as was having follicle tracking and I hadn't ovulated when the date scan said I had!!! don't mind too much as long as I don't get induced again!! There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here so hope someone can help with your query soon. x

lyndsay how long are your cycles normally? If you have a 28day cycle then going by your last period start date of the 24th you should have ovulated on the 7th of May but if your cycles are longer then you will have ovulated longer! Also remember that sperm can stay alive for 7days inside you so if you had been BDing up to a week b4 you ovulated then it could have been one of them that got you! I wouldnt worry about a few days out remember they also use the size of the baby to determin how afar you are so couls just be that your little one was a few mm's smaller than what they perceive is 'normal'. Im sure everything will be fine and little one will arrive when s/he wants! x

My dates changed at both scans. And she ended up coming 10 days early which unusual for a first but was a healthy weight so she may have even been on time, who knows? It's just an estimate it really doesn't matter when u conceived, chances are you will go back or forwards by a few days at ur next scan. As long as baby is growing normally and healthily that's the main thing

When you 1st get a positive test result your Dr/GP will use your last known period start date to provide you with a rough due date. This is used to arrange your booking in appointment with your MW, your 1st bloodtest & your dating scan. At your dating scan they will measure baby's thigh length & determine an EDD based upon this measurement. Dates can move forward, backward or stay the same.
Generally the more accurate way to look at it is as it states upon MAT B1 forms, baby is expected to arrive during the week containing that date. So if you take the view that your last known period was in the week containing the date 24th/27th April then you should have conceived roughly 2wks later so the week 9th - 15th May approx.
