Just reading cv's thread about clothes and wondered when you dressed baby in outfits rather than grows? E is nearly 11weeks but still a little baby in my eyes! I thibk outfits look too 'grown up' at the moment. I have a few tops and leggings but dont usually bother.

Hmm, probably sooner than I intended as we were given some as gifts. I think she wore her first outfit at before 3 months but wasn't regularly in "clothes" until 4 months-ish if I am remembering correctly and then it was tops and legings, so easy things to get on and off x

Probably from 10ish weeks but only because they would be wasted gifts otherwise.

J was a couple of weeks old. He had loads of outfits as gifts, an as he outgrew 0-3 month babygrows at 2 weeks old, we would have had a lot of wasted clothes. Babygrows then became nightwear.

I sometimes have A in some trousers/leggings and a long-sleeved vest with t-shirt over the top, or the odd dress we got as gifts if it's nice and we're out. Mostly she's in babygrows though, she's still quite dinky though so looks cute and little in them still :)

Erm i can't really remember, it was quite gradual but probably from a couple of months onwards. Not every day until she was a bit older but depended what we'd been given and the weather etc. In the summer she wore lots of rompers and little light cotton dresses and shorts and t-shirts. I'm not a fan of 'proper' grown up looking outfits until they are older.

Just wondering this myself as just sorting out our 3-6 stuff. He'll e too big for it within a month I reckon but there are a couple of gorgeous outfits we had for big S that would be a shame to waste. He doesn't look like a little baby though. I definitely wouldn't put things like proper jeans on him at the moment, maybe soft trousers and t-shirts on top of vests. I do love babies in babygrows though!

Once he grew out of newborn we did outfits during day and grows at night...daytime outfits were largely dungarees, joggers and t shirts etc...rompers or jersey shorts if weather was nice. Just go with what you feel x

I like a baby to look like a baby so babygrows, rompers and the like are my personal choice. I have just bought some leggings and tops for A and I'm not sure about them. She has also worn the odd dress that were gifts and as lovely as she looks I still think they look too old for her, especially as she doesn't have much hair Ive still bought some summer dresses as a change though.

Miss Iris is 6 weeks and hasn't worn an outfit yet.
I've got her an outfit for Fathers Day so that will probably be the first time she wears an outfit, she'll be 2 months. I don't expect she'll wear outfits regularly until she's 4 months or so though and even then it'll be 'now and then' rather than all the time!

We were given outfits for A and he does wear them if we are going out, I don't bother if we're just staying home though. But tshirts are bloody annoying, I bought a few for him but as he is mainly lying down, they ride up. I haven't bought any more for him and won't until he is walking, poppered vests look much nicer and they stay put.

Isla started wearing outfits regularly at 3 months. Before that she'd worn a dress with tights on about 2-3 occasions at family parties x

We were given quite a few dungaree sets for A, so he wore them from about 4 weeks, not regularly though. He's mainly in babygros though - they are so much easier for changing.

Both mine wore outfits from day 1.

We were given lots of outfits but I kept her in babygrows only for a month then put her in the outfits

Where I could I returned gifts that were 0-3 months to bigger outfits (most of the time the same outfit!) Other than special days out from about 6 weeks I kept the boys in baby grows for a good few months.

Over 3 months for I, probably longer for S as she is my last.and I want her to stay a baby!

Thanks for replies! Most of the outfits i have been given are 3-6 so haven't felt obliged to use yet.

5/6 weeks, when we started to implement a bath and bed routine. That said, he was still in rompers of sorts, not full on jeans and t-shirts etc.
