O is 19m, its on my mind because he has a cot, not a cot bed and he seems to be getting too big for it.
Tell me how old they were and how it went! He's still in with us too, so moving to a bed means moving into his brothers room. I don't know if I can face it!

Ethan was about 2 1/4, if I could it would have been later - he was also in a cot. We had 2 reasons - firstly his sleep was broken and his keyworker at nursery suggested he might be cramped, we were also TTCing no 2 and I wanted a big period of time before he saw his cot being reused.
It went very well actually, and for about the first month he slept brilliantly. It was only after that when he realised he could get up that we hit problems and had to start sleep training.

Last week (she is 2 next month). It went well the first week - sleeping through (miracle!!) But my parents have been staying all weekend and she has reverted to waking at night and wanting to come in with us at 3am. However o have been taking her back to her bed & getting in until she is,asleep - which I could neber do with cotbed

A was 2 yrs 3 months and in a cot (not a cot bed) the only reason we moved her to a bed was we needed the cot for L. We put her in a toddler bed and moved the cot into our room the same day so she moved cot to bed and L crib to cot on the same night.
She was fine. Took a few weeks to realise she could get up herself in the morning.
L was about 2.5. I moved him be ause he was climbing g out anyway so seemed pointless keeping him in the cot. He is a rubbish sleeper and is up and down all night. He's been like this since day 1 though.

Just before he was 2. He had a cot bed, so just took the sides off, as he was always climbing out anyway.
He adjusted well, but prefers sleeping on the floor.
Zoe could still sleep in her cot at 4 yrs old and she is 75th percentile for height. We moved her out of it at 2yrs 8 mths as she had started climbing out of it. I wish we hadn't tbh as her sleep broke at that point and I have never been convinced it wasn't connected.

He got a bed (toddler bed) for his second birthday. Again, I didn't want new baby to use his cot straight after he was out of it. Even though hed just had a duvet and baby will have sleeping bag so it will seem different anyway.
He was ready for a bed anyway. He was starting to climb and also he usually slept in one position all night and had a duvet from 12 months ( he learnt how to take off sleeping bag and chuck it out of the cot!

O was in his toddler bed at 19/20 months (in our room) as H had moved furniture into the nursery and couldn't get to the cot.

A is still in a cot (not cot bed) at 25 months, I've no intention of moving him until this baby grows out of the crib (around 28 months I think) or if he climbs out. I'm in absolutely no rush to move him, even though he's very good to go the bed at night and 95%of the time sleeps through (bar some disturbed nights in the last month) and is getting a bit better for naps. If it ain't broke....

Oh and A is tall for his age too, at a guess I'd say 90-something percentile.

18 months for both. Never had a problem. They were in a.cot bed but moved as climbing

Exactly the same as CK
We put a gate on the door and haven't had many problems

thanks all, only just remembered to come back to this! We'll be keeping him in the cot a bit longer but haven't decided when to move him into his brothers room.. probably in the holidays so the disturbed nights (which I'm sure will happen!) don't make E tired when he's at school.

S was 22 months. We moved house and I couldn't be bothered to reassemble the cot! He has a tractor toddler bed. He slept through fine in it but one of us had to sit with him for about an hour til he dropped off for over a month as he kept getting out and no stair gates fit out stupid doors

I is still in hers at 2, it is a cot bed but she would still be fine in a cot too. We have got a new one for when S needs it as I don't think I will be done with hers any time soon and her sleep is so good I don't want to break her!
