As title really - when did you start using your sling?
Im after a new Connecta and trying to decide whether I should buy it before or wait until after the baby is born? A was 9-10 months when we started using it but I think L was about 3 weeks old.
When did you first use yours?

A week or two, struggled a bit then I think from about a month old he was in it all the time. This time will be from birth but I'm v v confident with the sling.

I have a mei tai and will be using it as soon as possible. I miss going for walks due to my spd x

We went out 2 days after she was born so less than 48 hours

I have a connecta and started using it when she was 2/3 weeks old as she was too small for it before that. I could have done with it from day one though as she was so clingy. In hindsight I would get a secondhand moby for the early days as I have small babies.

Last time I used the Connecta within the first week after he was born, found it was easier than pushing the pram after a C-section. This time, I've been using the Moby since about a week old as well.

Thanks ladies. I've only used mei tais/connectas so that's why I want another. The Moby and wrap styles scare me a bit!

We used ours pretty much straight away. I love the connecta and just keep his legs tucked up in it and he's all cosy - sleeps in it for hours

With Zoe I started at 4 weeks, which is when I got it. This time I was slinging when she was 5 days old, so basically as soon as we were out of hospital. I couldn't lift the pram in and out of the car so it was by far the easiest option.

I went to the sling library at 4 weeks (which was about the time I felt able to leave the house!) and rented a sling but J really didn't take to slinging, so we didn't wind up using one. I really wanted to sling though, so kept trying, and at about 6 months he stopped screaming when he was put in one - probably about the same time he stopped screaming most of the day - and we slung from then on. If I could just get him to accept a wrap now I'd be a very happy bean.

We didn't sling last time and now wish I had. This time I think H carried her around the house in an amazonas wrap and I then put her in the Manduca when she'd reached the recommended size for the newborn insert. I was never confident with wrapping on my own, but H loved doing it. I've a photo of him cleaning out our fish tank with S in the sling at a few weeks old.

I think E was a few weeks old. I'd bought a woven wrap and a connecta, but I sort of forgot about them at first in the newborn haze. I wish I'd remembered sooner, could've had a lot more hot meals and eaten with two hands!
In the future I'd start from day one.

We bought a connecta when Sam was 8 weeks old. Had a wrap before this but never used it as it was too faffy!

Straight away at home (bought a moby wrap whilst pregnant) although i wasn't confident enough about tieing it / getting her in/out to use it in public for a few weeks. I have a feeling baby#2 will be permanently in sling whilst i chase toddler round. LOL

A connecta at about 8 weeks I think, that's when I bought it, I'd have used sooner if I;d had it.

A week after i brought him home so about 4 weeks.

I didn't get the connecta until my daughter was 3 months old but would've used it earlier if it'd have got it earlier

Thanks everyone. I think lll get it beforehand so that I have the option to use it straight away d
