I don't mean age, I mean literally in the day?
At the moment I give O some solids directly after 2 of his milk feeds each day (one in the morning and one around tea time) is this right? Or do you give them solids at a different point from milk feeds? He eats it ok but just conscious I give him his full milk feed and then am stuffing him with more food!?

I give O solids about 45/60mins after a milk feed so he's a bit hungry but not looking for milk iyswim xx

We did mostly blw, so I just offered food when we were eating anyway. I think the general concensus is to offer food when they're not too hungry but not completely full of milk either, so maybe an hour after a feed. If you're in the early stages if not worry too hugely, especially if he's eating anyway.

I do breakfast and then a bottle an hour later, same with lunch and dinner! I've done it both ways bottle then food, but found he eats better if I do the food first

I do good first like noodle. So breakfast at about 7.30. Then bottle at about 9 before nap. Then dinner at 12 , bottle about 1.30 then a nap. Then tea at 5. Bottle at 7 then bed.

We do BLW and they suggest food an hour after bottle so they arent so hungry they get frustrated at not getting it in quick enough, but hungry enough to try things.

We started out with milk first, then food when he wasn't too hungry or tired so about an hour later. Then after about 6 weeks, we moved to food first then bottle after. At first, they don't realise that food fills them the same as milk so we waited until S was eating with purpose to give food first. It's working well now and we do breakfast at 7ish, bottle after nap at half 10, then lunch at 12, bottle at 3 ish and then tea at 5, bottle at 7 ish before bed. That's only been recently though.

Thanks everyone, by the time he finishes a bottle and I wind him, the breakfast etc is a good half hour after he's eaten anyway so I'll just stick with it at the moment an might start to separate them out later.
Also I know the food is just to get them used to it just now and all the nutrition is in the milk but O just reading your posts are your LO only on 3 bottles a day? My hungry boy still takes either 4 or 5 bottles depending what time he wakes in the morning plus he has 2 'meals' where he will take a good 10 spoonfuls! He's an eating machine!!x

Thanks Banzy, you wonder where they put it all, they're still so small! When I see the bottle empty at his feeds and think how small his stomach is supposed to be, I do wonder how he squeezes it all in!x

Z is 10 months and has 3 meals, sometimes 4 as she has tea at nursery and home! And still has four 8oz bottles. She doesnt eat much still yet though.

We started BLW at 25 weeks straight onto offering food at 3 meals a day (when she awake!) at the same time as we were eating & tried to give a milk feed 30-60 mins before & she had a lot of breast feeds on demand in between times. In fact I think it was well over 2 months into weaning that she started to drop any feeds!

PC loving the fact that she wangles double tea!
Thanks, I've stuck with the food after milk at the moment but make sure I leave it about 60mins ish. He's taking it fine and still guzzling his milk so I'll just stick with this just now x
