I am about 6 weeks pregnant, when should I go to GP? Or do I make an appointment with the practise midwife?

Every surgery is different. I'd just phone your GP surgery and ask them what their procedure is

What Ally said, and call them soon, they may want to see you. I saw my doctor and he wasnt really interested. Just told me to make an appointment to see the MW at 8/9 weeks. They are also unlikely to test you, they'll just take your word for it.

Congratulations! I just went straight to midwife. Make the appointment as soon as you can as I phoned when I was 7 weeks and they couldn't fit me in for a booking appointment (double length appointment) til I was 10 weeks which is cutting it a bit fine to book in scan x

I had exactly the same experience as porkchop. In fact when I made an appointment to see my gp at 6 weeks I was told to make an appointment for 2 weeks later as they suggested that it was too early to be registered with the midwife. When I saw my gp 2 weeks later all they did was weigh me (no real idea why as I don't remember being weighed again) & pass my details to the mw.
