Hi everyone this is my first post im new to anything like this and I'm just looking for some advice/ someone in a similar situation.
I started my full time job in retail this March 2016. The day after I got sent home sick and I couldn't get out of bed the day after due to having a minor op 3 days before my start date and it getting infected. I went to work the following week and have had no sickness since.
I am now 9 weeks pregnant with baby no2. Which we have been trying for 2 years for! After miscarriage in November 2015 I decided to delete all my ovulation apps, and tried to focus on Christmas and the new year ahead!
Obviously I've fell pregnant again, unplanned but extremely happy! And the reason I am posting is I've had to take last Saturday and today off work due to morning sickness! I don't know how I can cope in work any longer it's just unbearable! I've not actually been sick loads of times but the watery mouth constantly, fatigue, headache and general feeling of sickness is just wearing me out. I feel so guilty that I can't handle feeling this way and I literally cant get out of bed!
Im yet to have my three month probation which I know legally they can't use my pregnancy against me but I don't want them thinking I'm taking the p!ss. Ive felt like this a few week now and it's gradually getting worse, I try my best to make it in but I'm literally bed bound. (Btw work have known since I found out due to my honesty).
Has anyone else been in this situation? I feel like I don't deserve time off and I've already had the 'I remember such a body being pregnant and she wasn't like this' from a childless college!
Where do I stand??

Legally they can't say or do anything for pregnancy related sickness. It's not even meant to be on your sick record because it's completely separate. They cannot discriminate against you whatsoever for being off sick when you're pregnant, so rest assured.
It may be worth speaking to HR about your concerns though.
There is pretty much nothing they can do in terms of disciplinary/dismissal etc because you're pregnant and the rights are all yours in these circumstances! They probably won't even fail your probation at the risk of you saying it was down to your pregnancy and taking them to a tribunal over it !

Thanks for your advice Mrshunt. I guess I'm just panicking more as when I found out and told my manager, bearing in mind she knows about my m/c and how much it killed me, her reply wasn't congrats it was 'oh no I don't think they are going to be happy about this' asif I'd purposely done it! Why would I!
Anyway I suppose it's just a waiting game, like you say I'm sure they wont do anything.
Attempting to go Doctors today scared of the phone call I'll have to make if I get given a sick note!!!

No company is happy about a new employee falling pregnant BUT they would fully have to justify not keeping you on their books without any reference to your gender, your age, your pregnancy, your religion...otherwise you have a legal case for dismissal on discrimination.
If you have notified them of your pregnancy already then they are also obliged to note any changes that would make your job safer/easier for you whilst pregnant (travelling outside rush hour, avoiding customer facing roles, no heavy lifting, plenty of opportunity to sit & rest, options to drink & snack more frequently...)
If in any doubt at all, you can get free legal advice from ACAS (a name most employers dread to hear)

Thanks KazzieM. Just been to doctors I've been signed off for a month!! I said can I not have a week see how I go, he said as your doctor in advising you take a month. It's morning sickness it's part of pregnancy it's not going to get better until at least after 12 weeks so take the month, and give me some anti sickness tablets. That's me told!
Now, the dreaded phone call to work! I'm embarrassed to do this! It makes me cringe at the thought of them all bitching like I'm purposely ill.

Some women are hospitalised by their morning sickness, every pregnancy is different & they need to understand that. It's not like you are telling them you hate the job & never want to return, you have a valid medical reason (& your Dr has put their name to it)
