Same for us and we didn't get to go until 6pm. I was on the brink of just leaving but I wanted my painkillers haha!

Can't you just tell them you are going? If you have been discharged then what Is the issue?

i don't know if your hospital will be the same, but there was a change in systems and it has made everything 10 times slower than they used to be, especially if you are waiting on meds before being discharged. I was told i could go in the morning and i didn't get out until 2pm.

I didn't leave until 5.30 after H kicked up a fuss and that was without the newborn check which I later found out should have been done in hospital by a paediatrician because H has a heart condition. Our house is also a different area from the hospital which has caused so much faff about where the referral should come from.

It was the same for us. We were ready to go home hours and hours before they actually hurry up and got their bums into gear. I had her at 0406 in the am, moved round to the postnatal ward about 10.30 ish and we were allowed home about 6. Ridiculous. We were all fine and they had seen me feed Ava. x
