So I was sat here this morning paying all our bills online, when things weren't going through so thought it was all a bit odd, checked the bank to find no money, realised I hadn't had a payslip either, took ages to get hold of anyone at work as they are all on holiday finally got a number for payroll who told me that yes I was right, they have forgotten my maternity pay altogether! now I'm waiting for a call back to tell me why and when I'm going to get paid!

    Update

Just had a voicemail to say they have arranged payment and it will be in the bank by Wednesday! I'm not impressed at all

That's rubbish. My work forgot me the first month after I returned to work. I didn't get paid (as before I'd been on the unpaid part of maternity leave). I was given a cheque in the end.

At the very least they should be able to do a bank transfer asap (ie today) for roughly the right amount, especially with the long weekend coming.

That's awful, I'd be requesting a same day payment. This happened to me for the first month of working at my current place, they transferred me a rough amount and then balanced it with my actual salary the next month.

Make sure you kick up a fuss if they don't sort it for you, you're entitled to your money.

All payments have to be signed off by administrators at the moment so I think it's going to be next week now, really annoying, hoping direct debits will go out later because of the bank holidays

God that's pants, I'd have been sick I think! How can they not realise you'll be expecting payment and have direct debits etc.? Tools! x

They left it to the last second to call me and I was feeding Ben and didn't hear it, tried calling back but everyone had gone home, we were already short this month so now I'm having to sit and go through all the bills to see if anything isn't going to go through

That's awful, if you end up having any charges because of this, I'd have thought they'd be liable to pay them since they've messed up completely, and in the circumstances they should have put through an urgent CHAPS payment to go in your bank today! x

I'd really not be happy with that. It's hard enough coping on SMP as it is without then messing you about.
