Toddlers & Older Children <

Ah bless her! Look at her gorgeous ringlets! Little cutie!
Its so nice isn't it when you can talk to them and have a proper conversation. Jacob is a right little chatter box and doesn't shut up, which is kind of cute. He is always saying "Joshua, lets play!" That's his favourite! :-) Or "Mister Maker please Mummy!" He is absolutely obsessed with Mister Maker on C Beebies!
I was so proud the other day - he has moved up to the Toddler Room at Nursery and they did assessments with them all to gauge where they were. They used Flash Cards. The oldest child in the room got 28/50, Jacob being the youngest got 35/50! I was so pleased :-) Makes all the work you put in worth it doesn't it?!
How is Rosalie with her sleeping? Is she a good sleeper? Jacob is terrible! Although we are expecting it to get worse - his dummy is coming off him at the weekend! He only had it for bedtime anyway, but he is going to be a nightmare taking that off him. Dreading it!

Ah beautiful blonde girlies and handsome Jacob. And clever too 😊
Elliott is also a little talker. He amazes me with what he comes out with. Yesterday we were having a dance in the lounge he was laughing and I said 'what are you laughing at Elliott?' he said 'wow it's so much fun dancing with mummy' I melted just a little bit.
I've got a job interview next week eek! For school immunisation health nurse. Term time Only which will be good moving forward to when pre school starts. He's in nursery x2 sessions a week atm. Do you know what age they take them at pre school?
Feeling nervous as not had an interview for years.
Elliott had a haircut this evening!

Its adorable when they start talking to you and about you isn't it :-)
I think they take them at Pre-school the term after they are 3 - So I would suspect Elliot will be a pre-school next January. But don't quote me on it! Jacobs is a private nursery, so a government one so I don't know if they are any different?!
EEEEKKKKK to the interview!!!!! I am sure you will be absolutely fine and you will smash it :-) What day is your Interview? xx

Thank you swanny. I have asked nursery this morning the possibility of Elliott going term time Only so fingers crossed as I don't really want to change him to somewhere else.
Interview is on weds morning. Just getting all my paperwork together and thinking of answers ill give to all the policy and procedure questions. Fortunately I have an immunisation update training day tomorrow so it should all be fresh in my mind. Xx

Well hasn’t that just fell right for you !!
From my experience it’s all about the prep and it sounds like you’re on it!
Let me know how it Goes xx

Thanks will let you know 😁 have a good day x

Good luck sunny x
i dont know much about nursery - it seems they each have their own way of doing things lol. I did check with the one at our school and as they only do a september intake ( unless it's a transfer) Rosalie will be almost 4 when she goes !!! I'm going to ask again closer to the time as hopefully if they have room in the January she could go then - otherwise we will have a job on to get kids to school and her to a different nursery all at the same time !!

Oooo that sounds a logistical nightmare busymamma!!! Hopefully they’ll sort something for you.
ny eldest as an October baby so he has to wait almost a year to go to school (he never went to a school nursery because we both work full time and I school nursery’s only tend to do half days). So at the private nursery he was in preschool for nearly 2 years! Definitely helped him though 😊 he was so ready for school and could read very basic words and write his name when he started school so gave him a head start.
oh my days thinking about preschool and nursery?!?! How mad is that?!?!?! Lol xx

Hey Everyone :-)
How's everyone doing?? Can you believe we are mid way through February all ready?! Madness isn't it?!
Sunny - totally forgot to ask - how did the job interview go?
How are all those lovely babies doing? Jacob is doing well - becoming a little tinker each day though!! He is certainly a lot more hard work than his big bro ever was! ha ha! His speech just amazes me as he now talks in 4 or 5 word sentences most of the time, he can draw circles and squares (in a fashion!), he has started wanting to use the potty/toilet (but still won't poo on it!), knows most of his colours, and is just generally a little sponge. Looking forward to his health check in a month or so!
We have taken his dummy off him too - however took a long time for him to get used to it! Took it off him the first week of January and he has only just stopped asking for it and is just generally getting by without it. It has, however, meant that he has cut out his nap :-( Which is not good when you just want half an hour to sit with a cuppa! But I would rather it that way.
Here is a recent piccie of the little tinker with his 'very cool' big bro!

Hi swanny that photo of your boys is gorgeous so grown up they look!
Elliott is a little sponge too, can't get anything past him. Hes really caring too. Tells me to be careful on the stairs when I go down after reading him a bedtime story and tells us to be careful on the road when anyone goes out! He's recently moved rooms and is now in a single bed.
Yes, I got the job! Can't wait to start , thanks for asking xx
This boy loves his bike x

Hi ladies xx
have had a tough few weeks with Rosalie bless her ... has finally begun to cut in her last tooth, and it's knocked her sideways !!! Her eating habbits have changed, she is so grumpy and her bum is so sore and to top it off she cought a horrible cold so has been truly miserable ! Fingers crossed she's almost rid of the cold now but think it's going to be a few days before she's the whirlwind again !!
My gosh your boys look so grown up ! Has anyone else had that realisation yet that were done dealing with babies ?? ( unless anyone has more to come in the horizon!!) but for me its been kind of sad to say that's it - done - no more cots bottles and baby bits and bobs ! and the joyous fact that I will never have to sit up all night with a teething baby again !!! Yay lol

a little update from me and Deian, him at a christening at the weekend! He looks more like a boy now he has had a hair cut. He doesn’t have much conversation as yet, but we are speaking to him bilingual so I think that can delay speech, but he understands everything.
he can start in September half days, then full days from Jan in pre school and I think he will continue on full days then. I don’t like to think about it! It seems too quick haha and the childcare is more complicated him doing half days then currently now as he is looked after by grandparents but my mum doesn’t live near enough to us to take him and pick him up from school. So I’m still trying to figure it out!
Your boys looks so grown up, Deian still love snuggles and seems almost still babyish. He likes a terrible twos strop and has been waking the last 2 weeks almost with his back molars coming through. Very tired Mum again!

Well done Sunny!!! That's amazing :-) Way to go! Are you enjoying it??
Ahhh look at little Elliot on his bike! He's such a big boy! Santa brought Jacob a balance bike, but its a bit too big at the moment. The rate they grow I am sure it won't be too long until he is zooming off on it.
Hey Busymamma - Poor little Rosalie :-( Teeth are just horrible aren't they?! And why do they go through that to just lose them, grow back and lose them again! Metanium always worked a treat for Jacobs sore bum when teething. Hopefully your little lady will be on the mend soon. So much stuff going around isn't there at the moment?! This freakish weather doesn't help - can't make its mind up what it wants to do.
I do feel a bit sad that I will never have another baby (as we too are done and dusted!), especially as my best friend had a baby in October so it made me very broody! But I do feel relieved aswell. I think if Jacob was an easier baby and he liked sleep, we may have felt differently, but he has been hard work. I don't think I could do all that again. I'm not particularly 'old', but Jacob has definitely aged me!
So I am a bit like you Busymamma - sad that I won't ever feel that baby wriggling inside me, or having that newborn on my chest, but definitely not sad that I have my sanity back a little ;-) ha ha!

Ah look at your little mans face - little cutie!! Growing up quickly too! Its amazing how quickly time goes isn't it??
He is going to be a clever sausage if you are talking to him in Welsh aswell :-)

Hi ladies just about to read through and catch up with the chat. We had our 20 week scan and she gave it away that Rowan is going to have a little brother. So I am due in just 9 weeks!

Congratulations Danielle240! You must be nearly there now? Can anyone help this dad with his 18month old who has suddenly stopped sleeping? He's on this thread here.
