Hi, I think it depends on how well your 3yr old walks with you tbh.

I had this exact age gap between my 2nd and 3rd little ones and I used both buggy board and double buggy. (I already had both as I had a smaller age gap between babies 1 and 2)

I didn't use the double that often, or for very long, but when I did use it I really appreciated it, iykwim, as I knew my 3yr old couldn't run off!

If your little girl is good and will walk nicely holding onto baby's buggy or on a buggy board then you may not need a double at all.

At 3 1/2yrs they are getting close to being too big for any buggy, so if you do end up getting a double don't spend too much, or get it 2nd hand, cos you prob won't use it for very long.

    Hope this helps x

My daughter had just turned 2 when I had her little sister. We borrowed a tandem buggy but only used it for a very short time, it was Nov/Dec then. She was determined to walk everywhere and has done since. A few times on longer walks she's gone in her stroller if hubbys been there but she wanted to show she was a big girl and that she didn't want to be pushed with her baby sister. We bought a buggy board which she prefers and I always take it with me incase she gets tired. She will be 3 now in October and rarely uses it. It does depend on how much your lo walks but you may find she asserts her independence and won't go in the double. If you feel you need one perhaps borrow one or buy a second hand one as we barely used the one we borrowed. Also as your daughter will be older by then you may find it hard to find one that she's comfortable in and that steers well with the weight difference between the 2 of them.

Perhaps try the buggy board initially for the school run and see how you get on. The only thing is she won't get much shelter from the rain, I don't know how far you walk?

    hth xx

phoebe was 3 years 2 months when freya was born and i never had a double buggy or buggy board, i just made her walk ( evil i know). she hadnt used the buggy any way since she was 2.5 so i didnt see the need. it really depends on how well your little one walked. at that age i wouldnt expect you to need a double buggy but if she isnt graet with walking long distances then a buggy board might be handy. xxx

There's a 12 month age gap between my girls so I got a double buggy but only used it for maybe 8 months. Now I never use it as Lily (2 yrs 3months) walks everywhere. It's kinda hard pushing buggy with one hand and holding onto toddler with other but still better than heaving that double buggy round!

If it's not that far to your daughter's nursery I would just let her walk. Maybe get a buggy board if you want but I reckon you'd be wasting money on a double as they aren't really comfy for a newborn and then your older lo might decide she doesn't want to go in it!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
