Toddlers & Older Children <

Hi , this is going to sound really , really weird and I promise it's not a hoax! My lo is 5 , so not realy a toddler , but started saying few months ago that eyes were "going funny" . I put it down to lo wanting glasses , tried to get eye test and couldn't . The spoke this week about getting eye test again and lo said that eyes still "go funny" . I probed a bit more and lo said that things get "bigger and smaller" and it feels like she shrinks /grows depending on it , I thought she was "having me on " til dh came home and said he used to make it happen when he was smaller .................. spoken about it a bit more with lo and she says it just happens and doesn't like it . Have looked up symptoms on line and is an actual condition where visual perceptions / other sensory perceptions change , but apprently it's not very well known
I am planning to get her an eye test , but not realy sure what else to do ?? Think should really get it checked out , but worry about dr thinking I've lost the plot !
Just wondered if any one else had encountered this personally / with their lo's ? She seems fine in all other ways so not sure if should bother dr or just leave it !! Have a good weekend . x

Thanks for your reply - wasn't sure what to think when she first said about it , she has a very vivid imagination , but thought even this was a bit advanced for "making up " . AM going to sort out an eye test and see where goes from there , she says she really doesn't like it . My family has a history of migraine , so wondering if a link there ....
I am grateful for your reply , I can tell her others have it as well , she says she gets it a lot at lunch times but doesn't like to tell people as they will say it is not happening ! Thank you again !!!

I have never needed glasses, nor has my brother and my dad only had them for reading as he got into his 50's. I have never really suffered from migranes either, although i have had the odd one, maybe twice a year, if i'm really tired or stressed, but that would be normal
. If you want to ask me any questions, feel free to pm me.
