My 2 and a half year old son is pretty much potty trained for wees, with only the occasional accident but he won't do a poo in the potty or on the toilet. He always waits until I put him in a nappy for bed or nap times and then does it there, minutes after he's been sat on the potty which he always insists on going on before he goes down!!
I've been trying not to make a big deal of (I suppose it does show a certain amount of bowel control, at least) and saying 'never mind, I'm sure you'll do it in the potty next time' etc but it doesn't seem to make any difference... anyone got any tips for getting him to poo on the potty/toilet?

We've got a big push on potty training at the moment with lots of mums helping out - you can find the Fear Of... (poos, in this case!) group here - http://www.madeformums.com/forum/forummessages.asp?dt=4&UTN=14832&V=5&SP=

I'm afraind I can't offer much advice, but it is a pretty common problem, if that makes you feel any better!
I'm just potty training my LO and for about a week she didn't poo in her potty, and I wondered if it was because she had a bit of stage freight as someone was always hovering over her, so today I left the room whilst she was on the potty and she did it!!! Could it be something like that with your LO?
