I TOTALLY agree with you. I'm so disappointed with the car seats avaliable for toddlers. I am in exactly the same situation with my 2.5 year old. I don't feel she's safe enough in the booster seat but that's all she can have. It's also a problem when she falls asleep as the booster won't recline! Her neck and head fall forward with such a jolt it's scary. I'm avoiding the car in the afternoon in fear of her having a nap! I just wish there was an answer to the problem!

Hi Girls, Sorry to hear your having problems with this. We dont have a car so dont really have much a problem but i can understand what you mean. We hae had to get a booster seat with detachable back and find it a problem when riley drops off. Did think about a neck support cushion but they only make baby ones.

    A friend has this one.

im not a fan of booster seats! josh has one and the hight which booster seats take him up to means the seatbelt is straight accross his neck, cant tell me that wouldnt cause injury in a crash!

This is similar to what Lydia has got and she is 5 and i still use a 5 point harness on her, it fits her fine, she has plenty of room and to be truthful she is also quite light for her age, even though i havent had her weighed for a while!!

We have Bon in a booster seat now but it has a strap at the back that clips onto the seatbelt and holds it in place on the shoulder so it won't cut into his neck.  Its Italian and I bought it in Spain.

My four and half year old is in a boaster seat and has been for a while but I wouldn't trust my two and half year old step son to not keep undoing his seat belt and he will be staying in a five point harness for a while yet!  How can it not be as safe as a normal seatbelt?  Surely if the car seat is fixed securely with the seat belt to the seat and the child is strapped into a five point harness then they're not going far are they?  Or have I missed the point completely?

If your worried about high seat belts you can buy a triangle belt adjuster thats poppered and fits easily, you can get them from halfords.
