I'm up in Edinburgh and it is absolutely freezing here today. We go up to Aberdeen a lot to see in-laws and it's even worse there.

Anyway, yesterday we were out for a long walk and despite lo having trousers, socks, shoes and being wrapped up under buggy snuggle his legs and feet were still freezing when we got home. (should add he also had on long sleeved vest, fleecy jumper, jacket, hat and scarf)

So mum suggested putting a pair of tights on him under his trousers. What do you think ? Hubby thinks we could scar him for life by making him wear tights. But it might be a bit cosier. Will girls ones fit the same ? thanks Suz x

That's funny because me and my hubby have had the exact same conversation in the past! I think it's a great idea, but hubby was like you're not going to make your little boy wear tights?? so I didn't, but I always worried about their little legs getting cold.

I've seen a range of kids thermal underwear in John Lewis - thermal longjohns and vests - perhaps that would be a compromise our hubbys could deal with?

Modified just to add I think it would be fine to put him in tights as well! And I def would if we were up in Scotland :\)

Put him in tights! Navy tights rather than rainbow stripey ones lol. I have a little boy too, and if he needed to be kept warm, I wouldn't hesitate x

I have some tights for J! Admittedly its part of his costume (angel in his first nativity) but if we lived in Edinburgh (I was up there last weekend and it was very cold) I would deff put them on him all the time

Last Yr I put Benjamin in tights when it turned cold..Just bought navy and black pairs, actually thought he looked soooo cute in them lol!
My partner was horrified, typical male reaction, but I would rather Benjamin had warm legs!(I did take a photo incase I ever need to use it in yrs to come haha) x

I live in Norway and it is pretty normal to put tights on little boys in the winter, you can get ones with cars on so not at all girly! I also have thermal leggings for him which are fab too. It is minus 9 today so he needs it! x

If it gets too cold here I'd defo put tights on Tommy under his jeans and socks. Am pretty sure DH will have something to say on the matter but at the end of the day as long as hes warm thats what matters. I used to do it with my 8 year old and he's definately not scarred as he doesnt remember a thing about it lol xxx

Hi Suz, I got them from a shop over here called Cubus but I don't think you can buy their stuff online I am afraid. You can get thermal long johns from them too which are also fab.
I could do with your fil giving me lessons, my Norwegian is still not great! x

I always put my lo in tights if it's cold, it makes such a difference, I just got a pack from Sainsbury of navy ones and a pack from Primark which had red pair, white pair and navy pair he looks like a wrestler in a white vest and white tights it's really funny, at first my husband wasn't sure, but after getting very cold one day I pulled rank and bought them. anyway my husband wears thermals under his work clothes same thing I think.
