    PM
The last 2 mornings Charlotte has woken just after 4am. She is very alert and gets out of bed and tried to get in bed with me. I put her back in bed and after a while (ie an hour or so) she goes back to sleep.

Normally she sleeps all the way thru until 7ish so this is a bit of a shock to the system.

Also the past few days (esp today) she's eaten a lot compared to what she normally does. For example, already today she has had:

Brekkie: 1 and half weetabix / half a slice of my toast and a banana

snack: cream cracker & and a babybel

lunch: oven chips, chicken nuggets, peas & sweetcorn (which she ate nearly all of) good for her)!
    fromage frais for pudding

and she has drunk a whole cup full of water

She has been very active as well recently and has just started running (then falling :lol. Could all this be connected? A growth spurt...? Any ideas...?! I would like her to sleep thru again! :\(

    :\?

Sorry Hayley, can't help as Shea reverted back to his early mornings a few weeks ago too!! and now has rotten cold which isn't making situation any better

He is waking between 4am and 5am and WILL NOT lay back down in his own bed, stamping on bed shouting!! So I have resorted in taking him into our bed which some mornings he's fall back to sleep for a bit, others I jsut know he's not going to so I put the portable tv on and try and get him to watch some programmes but at that time there isn't much choice (countdown, ceefax or the news!!)

It is a killer getting up at that time every day, the latest i've been up in the past two months must be 5.30am and it makes for a very long day, and i'm always in bed by 9pm!!!

Hi, Have you been able to rule out anything external that is waking her up at tat time such as cars/birds/people talking/people puttings their bins out and all that kind of thing outside? Or something like your central heating coming on? If you're in a semi, something going on in the room the other side of hers?

If so, I am at a loss too, as its really dark at that hour, so it can't be the sun waking her. I know this, as Daniel has been waking every morning at around 5, making loads of noise in his cot and getting very upset if we don't go to him, and sometimes he will settle back to sleep in bed with me, other thimes, thats it, he's up for the day. It is a real killer, I know. And unfortunately, he isn't napping for any longer than usual (an hour or so) in the day, or going to bed any earlier at night (7 pm)! Argghhhh.

It's pretty quiet where we live so don't think it's any noise from outside.

They can be puzzling at times can't they. Wish she could tell me what it is!

just a quick one as doing tea. my lo is waking and different times, figured out this morning she has 3 molars trying to come through

If she is waking around 5am, it might be that she is light sleeping and gets disturbed if a milk float coems road. At times I have been woken up by the milk float.

Shock horror - Daniel slept in until 6:30 this monring! I couldn't believe it - I woke with a start at 6:00 wondering what was going on and was afraid to move a muscle in case I woke him (even though he isn't in the same room as us lol) and then he stirred at 6:30. It was the best!! I have absolutely no faith that it will last, as Daniel has always been an early waker. But maybe Charlotte will go back to her normal sleeping pattern and this is just a blip x

How did Charlotte do this morning, Hayley?!

Sorry, anout your early start again claire a belle, and I hope all is better soon, but I have to take my rare boasting opportunities given that Daniel is such a terror for waking early! It happens so so rarely! I am still in shock about the one time he slept in until - wait for it - 8 o clock (!) when he was 5 months old!

As I said, the 6:30 is another one-off, I'm sure. I couldn't be that lucky lol xx

Well Charlotte was up at 6.30 so an improvement.

I've often wondered if her 2nd molars were coming thru as well. Her nappies are sometimes nasty, but I can't see anything in her mouth.

Claire - maybe Shea's waking cos he's poorly, or was he doing it way before he got his cold?

Shea's been doing this before he got his cold. The latest Shea has ever woken in 2 years is 6.15am!!

I would kill for a 7am lie in!! lol

We are actually thinking about delaying his bed time again. We tried it 6 months ago or so but didn't make any difference so we put his bedtime back to 7pm again as he was shattered but now i'm thinking of doing it again, and keeping him up till about 8pm
will see how we get on

If you delay his bed-time a tip: do it by 15 mins each week so after 4 weeks he's going to bed an hour later. That way it's not such a shock to him.

It can work the other way too if you need to put bedtime forward. Did this with Charlotte when she was younger and it worked a treat.
