How old was your bundle of joy when they started to walk? I was wandering what the average age is! My mum said I started walking at 10 months...what a clever little madam i was

I walked at 8 months unaided but used to carry around my walker whilst sitting in it from 6 months
sonny started walking holding on & whilst in his walker at around 8 months but didn't walk unaided until 12 months (his 1st bday actually).
he did do it once 6 weeks prior to that but then decided it was too much bother so didn't do it again till his bday.

IMO they all go at their own pace & tbh it is more hassle once they are walking

Lily started walking properly the week after she turned 1. My MIL claims OH was walking at 7 months, but I'm not sure if I believe that!

I walked unaided when I was 10 months old and I did think Poppy would be an early walker as she was walking holding onto my fingers at 9 months but took her first steps unaided 6 at 13 months, she is now walking instead of crawling all the time now, she is just over 14 months. She adores the kitchen cupboard that holds saucepans and tupperware and she insists on taking the dogs biscuits out of his bowl and trying to feed them to him one by one!!

Emilia is 13 months (not long to 14 months) and still not walking. She has been pulling herself up, crusing, occaisonally using her walker (she's not too keen on it) and standing without support for ages now.

I am pretty sure she is capable of walking if she wanted too. I persuaded her to take a step on her own yesterday before she decided she'd rather sit down (she took a step, lowered herself to the floor and then crawled to me). She walks ok when I am holding one of her hands and even tries to run. I think because she gets around so quickly doing her funny little crawl (she has always crawled in very odd but fast way - too hard to describe) she'd rather do that.

Kara is 14 months and not really into walking on her own. She walks with the help of 2 hands but she just doesn't have the confidence yet to let go although she will walk the furniture no problem. She was born prematurely at 34+4 weeks so really she is only 13 months corrected today. She doesn't crawl either. She hates being on her tummy and is not interested in crawling. She just seemed to skip that stage.

Girls are great and boys are lazy lol. Boys are so easy going. My brother and my dad is like that. It always drove me crazy then I married Ray and he is more easygoing than the two of them put together. Girls seem more active but I don't know if that is a good thing or not. Only time will tell I suppose.

Mt dd Erin is so laid back she started walking unaided at 14mnths, she is now 15mnths and into everything.. before she could walk i was worried that she was taking so long to do it, now i wish sh'e taken a bit longer! Ha!Ha! Dont worry ladies, all babies walk eventually, do we ever here of children going to nursery crawling? Er, no. I sometimes think our relatives put too much pressure on us, Is she walking yet? All the time the same questions! Enjoy your peace while you can ladies, i have had to buy a play pen as i also have Joe who is 12 weeks, and despite what my oh thinks i dont have 4 hands! Ha!ha! x

aaarrgg - my little one is 25 months and still not walking!
She has proved she can take 2-3 steps on a few occations and was really pleased with herself, but seems to feel its not worth the hastle on a regular basis.
i have come to the conclusion that if girls are faster with some stages, walking is not it - boys seems much quicker- dare devils maybe?

Isaacwas nearly 19 months when he started walking, we found out it is because he has a condition called hypermobility which means his joints are too loose and wobbly and dont support him. My eldest 2 walked at 12 months and Alice walked at 10 months and she was a nightmare, somuch easier when they dont bother
