Morning all - how's everyone? As this went down quite well last week, lets have another one, eh?!
How did everyone's weekend go? Anyone do anything exciting?
AFM - had a great time at H's boss's summer party - weather was just smashing. Chilled out yesterday & didn't do much. In TTC news, on to cycle three now. Started a bit of a weight loss regime this morning; now that my knee is better, I can start exercising much more & want to cut down on junk food too!
Hello to all who follow - hope everyone has a nice Monday.....

All good here, had a lovely day trip to Harrogate on Saturday apart from hitting all the holiday traffic had a good time.
What was wrong with your knee tayto? I've had 3 arthroscopies on my right knee, chances are I'll need another on the left at some point in the future but I'm hoping against it. It's surprising how much it knocks you back.
TTC wise - I guess this is it! AF has gone and it's close enough to the wedding so I'll still get in my dress. Exciting times.
Hi to all who follow.
Hi Tayto! I find the chat thread much better as I don't feel any pressure to post anything ttc related if I don't want to but I still get to catch up with you lovely ladies without just lurking! Your weekend sounds lovely. How is your knee now? What kind of exercise are you taking up?
AFM - I also had a lovely weekend, it was just H and I for most of it just pottering around at home which I love as we don't get to spend much time at home during the week. The weather was great too.
Hi to all who follow x

Hey ladies, so nice to hear you've all had great weekends, it's amazing what a bit of sunshine can do.
I took my nephew to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes on Saturday night, it was amazing! Well worth the extortionate cost of £25 for 2 tickets! What happened to the cinema being a cheap outing! I remember paying £4.00 back in the day.
Nothing really to report on the baby making front just excited that September is getting closer.
Hi to all who follow. x

SallyLou - Had you air con in the car when driving back? I had to go pick up hubby an hour away on Friday and my car was like a furnace - stuck in traffic too so I just felt horrible! I ripped the cruciate ligament in my knee skiing in Austria in January so had to have reconstructive surgery in May. What exactly does an arthroscopy entail? Why do you think the other one needs it too? Official welcome to the TTC game!
Lulu - Knee is much better thanks - 2 months post op now and have final apt with surgeon on Wednesday. I'm doing spinning, walking and a variety of strengthening exercises at the moment. Your weekend sounds lovely - bit like my Sunday - exactly what's needed in this weather.
Claire-lou - Yep, the weather certainly does perk everyone up a bit. Cinema sounds like fun and yes, prices to go there these days are just ridiculous! Eekkk.... it won't be long now before your FET - have you any plans for before it - like hols or spa days etc.?

Funny you should ask T, going to Lanzarote the end of August, which is perfect timing because we start a week after I'm back, then in October we are going to Hoar Cross Hall Spa for the weekend, so all being well I should be very relaxed and serene ready for our little embryos to snuggle in and make sure they stay! x

Tayto - Glad the weather was good for your boss's party and you had a good time too. My H is on a weightloss regime of his own, which to his credit seems to be working! He basically doesn't eat anything between 8pm and 12pm the next day, but makes sure he has a substantial but healthy lunch and dinner and doesn't snack! He's allowed to drink water, tea and coffee during his 'fasting' time. I think he's about a month into this and he's lost nearly a stone!
SallyLou - Wishing you a short TTC journey! when do you get married? I'm sure you said last week, but i can't remember.
LuLu - Glad you had a nice weekend.
Claire_Lou - £25 for 2 tickets??? that's ridiculous! although we're about £20 when we go, so i'm not surprised really! Was the film good? I'm not sure if it's something i fancy or not.
AFM - Just back to work after a week off, my sister, who normally watches W while i'm at work had asked for the week off, so i got to spend the week at home with my boy, which was nice, but tiring, especially when he's started waking in the middle of the night and crying inconsolably until I (not Daddy) go and cuddle him. 40 minutes he sobbed for last night before i admitted defeat and got up to him (Bad Mummy award) he would fall asleep in my arms, but the minute i tried to put him down, he would wake and start crying again! *sigh* So i'm like a half shut knife today as a result.
TTCwise - It's CD28 today and just waiting on AF showing up now. I OV'd on CD15/16 (2 positive days) so if i go by my previous cycles prior to going on the pill, I should be expecting AF to show herself either today or tomorrow, but i'm accepting that she might be a bit later as this is the first month off the pill and anything could happen. Definitely not pregnant though, which i am perfectly OK about (a little bit surprised by this i have to say..thought i might have been a bit gutted).
I'm all stocked up with my OPKs and IC's for our ttc journey! Excited to get to trying again! :-)

I'm new so going to jump right in and get started. :-) Will be lovely to speak to people who are on the same rollercoaster, there's only so much about this process you can share offline!
I'm TTC #1. Got married at the beginning of the month and stepped away from the birth control completely, having stopped taking the pill back in January. Usually AF on CD 25/26, but showing up today which is CD27. Hardly surprising it's a wee bit late what with the honeymoon/timezone confusion/general excitement of the last month, but has caused me a little bit of anxious excitement by not being on time. My sister scored a 'hole in one' last year, so was wondering if I'd be of a similar, efficient make up, but it would seem not. Kind of glad to have got the first cycle of trying out of the way though.

Hi Kitkat, and welcome! Congratulations on your wedding! Did you go anywhere nice on Honeymoon?
The ladies on MD are amazing for advice, support and anything else you want to throw at us! So apart from being newly wed and ttc number 1, tell us a bit more about yourself? where are you from? what do you like to do for fun, pet peeves, that sort of thing!
I'm RKB, married for 2 years, nearly 3, Love to Dance, Hill Walk, take Photo's! Pet Peeves: Sniffing and rattling cutlery off teeth! :-) We're on our 1st official cycle trying for number 2!
28/07/2014 at 14:32
Claire-Lou - Excellent plan - hols before and a spa after - perfect!
RKB - That's amazing work for your H; well done to him! Hope AF shows up soon so you can get on to ttc #2
kitkat - hello & welcome! congrats on your recent nuptials & I hope you have a nice quick ttc journey. feel free to do us an intro thread and tell us all about you - we're a nosey bunch! (ok, I mean me mostly!)
28/07/2014 at 15:26
£25 for the cinema Claire-Lou - crikey! I haven't been since last year sometime, we don't really have one in a handy place, quite glad after those prices!
tayto - yes thankfully I had aircon, I still ended up with a headache though. Arthroscopy is basically keyhole surgery, the first 2 goes they couldn't work out what was wrong, the 3rd go they found it - hoorah! Unfortunately it's genetic so likely to be in both knees.
RKB - I get married next Friday (8th) so will be away from the boards for a while. Hope your little lad sleeps through tonight so you get some much needed rest!
Hi kitkat! Congratulations on the wedding! I've only really been posting here for a week, but the lovely ladies have made me feel so at home, and welcome. :-)
28/07/2014 at 20:29
Hi all - this is a busy thread!
Tayto - glad your knee is feeling better
Lulu - I agree about the chat thread. We haven't started TTC yet but it's nice to feel like I can still join in! Your weekend sounds much like ours!
Claire Lou - glad you enjoyed the cinema. We haven't been for ages as my OH feels very strongly about how expensive it is! Think we might be making an exception for the upcoming Inbetweeners movie though! Your holiday and spa break sound lovely!
Sally Lou - good luck with your wedding! You must be so excited!
RKB - sounds like you've been having a hard time - hope you get some sleep tonight! I'm really grumpy if I don't get enough sleep - hopefully I'll start getting used to it when we have a baby!
Kitkat - hello! Nice to 'meet' you! Congratulations on your wedding!
AFM on count down to my New York holiday now. This time next week I'll be on my way to heathrow! Really excited. I'm going with a friend who I don't get to see as often as id like so it will be lovely to catch up with her and do lots of sightseeing shopping and eating! And then when I get back we will officially be TTC! Feels weird saying that but I'm excited to get started! Just keeping everything crossed that something happens for us!
29/07/2014 at 07:23
Lisa - New York? Sounds amazing! Where abouts are you going? Is there anything you're planning to do? How exciting for ttc on your return!
Well after a few rough nights, would you believe W slept all night, and is still in his bed!! H and I are up, showered and dressed for work and the lucky bizum is still snoozing! :-)
Hoping for a slightly more productive day in work today, I feel like all I did yesterday was push paper round my desk!
Ttc wise, still waiting on AF, but the cramps and moody attitude have made an appearance, so she can't be far away! :-)
29/07/2014 at 08:33
Sally Lou - wow, can't believe they had to operate three times - that wouldn't fare well with me at all!
Lisa Moo - Exciting times ahead! What's on your 'must see' list? I've never been but have planned to do it later in the year depending on how TTC turns out over the next few months.
RKB - That's great you had a good night with W; hopefully this is the turning point now and he'll keep it up! Hope AF shows up later today for you.
AFM - Had a really good day with food and exercise yesterday - my knee is definitely improving at a fast pace now. Seeing the consultant for the final time tomorrow.
29/07/2014 at 08:55
Glad your knee is doing well Tayto! hope the visit to the consultant goes well tomorrow! :-)
29/07/2014 at 09:00
Thank you for the welcome!
About me - I'm 34, live in London where I live with my lovely husband of 3 weeks. We've been together about 3.5 years, although we were friends for a long time before that. I like: shoes, gardening, reading, cheese and wine; pet peeves: er - lack of access to the aforementioned things? And annoying people at work, but I'm sure everyone has those.
We honeymooned in the US - New Orleans and then a road trip through Louisiana and Texas, before flying to spend a few nights in San Francisco. It was awesome, had an absolutely amazing time. We didn't want to come home, but we'd abused our credit card somewhat so it was a good thing we did!
Lisa - I'm jealous of your NY trip - make sure you leave loads of space in your suitcase for new purchases!
SallyLou - congratulations on your wedding next week. It will fly by so enjoy it! It's such an awesome day and so much fun. :-)
29/07/2014 at 20:36
Tayto - glad you had a good day. Good luck with the consultant.
RKB - yay for a better night! Hope work was more productive today.
Kitkat - your honeymoon sounds AMAZING! I am so jealous!
AFM - another not so exciting day at work but I'm just counting down days to be honest! I'm really lucky with the NY trip as we are staying with a friend of a friend who lives in manhattan for free! I've just had to pay for flights so I have some money left for spending! Planning to do all the main touristy things like Empire State and Statue of Liberty but also hoping to get some inside tips of other places to go from the girl we are staying with! I really must actually start packing at some point too!
30/07/2014 at 08:40
Morning Ladies! Ah! Wednesday! Half way through the week! YAY!
kitkat - Wine to good! Your honeymoon sounds like it was amazing!
Lisa - Sounds like you're in for an amazing trip! I'd like to go to NY some day, but i think we'll wait until we're done having children, and they're a bit older too.
AFM - Yesterday wasn't really any better at work. I'm so bored it's unreal. kind of feels like what's the point in being there. I've got one *** of a mood on the go too which isn't helping when dealing with people that are idiots. Sent a student details of flights for a conference she's going to and asked her to double check that the details on it were correct (explicitly saying Please Check your name and flight details) She came back saying 'yes these are correct' when i was convinced her name wasn't. so i emailed her back to say 'are you sure? Because i think your name is round the wrong way, and this morning i've come in to find that lo and behold i was right! Seriously peeved as the flights are nearly £1000 as it is without having to pay to make amendments...Le sigh.
Still waiting on AF too, but having counted my days, i actually think she's due to arrive tomorrow, and not yesterday...I'm really out of practice with counting CD's!
Hope everyone else is having a fab day! :-)
30/07/2014 at 13:29
Kitkat - echo the honeymoon admirations - sounds epic!!
Lisa Moo - I have to admit, I'd probably be packed by now! I'm terribly impatient though when it comes to holiday plans. That's great your friend in Manhattan can bring you off the beaten track so to speak - look forward to hearing all about it when you get back!
RKB - What do you work as if you don't mind me asking? And you are very tolerable for dealing with that idiot - I can't say I'd be that good! Roll on AF getting here and then buggering off again! How's W getting on now with sleep?
AFM - had the consultant this morning for my knee. He's really happy with progress and I won't have to see him again now until October. TTC wise, CD5 so nothing to report. Working from home today and I really am running out of concentration; it's just too nice outside!

I work as Departmental Administration in a University, I do everything from ordering stationary to booking flights for staff and PhD students (the girl in question this morning was a PhD student) to processing invoices/payments to go to our finance department. I actually really like my job, but I'm kind of feeling like I'm done with it and need something new to do. I work with 2 other girls, and all they do is moan about the job and 'we're not paid to do this' which get's very tiresome. Just suck it up and get on with it, you've been in the job for over a year now, you know how this place works!!!!!
